I use this app daily and really enjoy it. Prices are accurate and selling isn't to hard to figure out. The scanner is a little buggy but picks up most cards easily. The view given on the app is my only complaint. It doesn't show the entire page on screen so you are forced to do a lot of extra scrolling. Very annoying.
App will constantly slow down or freeze, forcing me to close out entirely. Can't go back to previous search results, instead it clears the search and takes you out entirely. If these get resolved, it becomes a much better app, but until then I can't recommend using it over the website.
The app is ok. The camera scan feature can be inconsistent. Often it'll scan the correct card, but detect the wrong version of it. Sometimes the scanner stops working and you have to close/reopen the app to get it to work again. I can deal with the camera being temperamental, but what it really needs tho, are the following features: -ability to select cards in lists to bulk edit and copy/move between lists -ability to bluk import cards into existing lists -ability to merge lists
App generally works but new updates are useless. No, I don't wanna see 3 random sellers of every card as I browse. I'm looking through 500 cards, I need a compressed scrolling experience not a longer one. And the newest issue that pissed me off enough to write this review...great, you have a card grading helper...I click it away cause i don't need it right now and it becomes a bar at the bottom of the screen THAT COVERS THE "DONE" BUTTON so now I can't use the filter function.
Terrible app.. Very minimal seller interaction. Extremely hard to navigate seller dashboard. Why can you not look at just the cards in your store front? Can't change anything about a listing once it's posted?? Then they charge a ridiculously high rate for listing. All the money they're making you'd think they would invest some of it in their app..... Won't be selling here and it's only been a day and a half of trying it out
This is a decent, easy to use app for cataloging my MTG collection. I like how I can create separate catalogs by my own definition rather than one large list. Some refinement of the database would be helpful, such as a sorting function, but it's an app, so I can't fault it too badly. The one area that is truly frustrating is the failure of the scanner. I have about a 1:3 chance that the app will recognize the card, so it's often faster and less frustrating to manually enter each card.
Excellent app! Once you figure out how to use the scanner properly it's amazing. The camera has a hard time with holographic (foil) cards due to the glare created by the light. I use my hand to create a shadow over the card and work mint 95% of the time. You can also dim the lights. Getting the wrong set is a constant pain, I think more 'list entry' options such as selecting which set is being scanned would be helpful, much like selecting if it's 1st edition or the condition. Is this possible?
I couldn't get the scanner to work at all at first! It's a little finicky BUT I bought a cellphone stand to keep it steady and it works like a CHARM. I recommend getting a stand, using the flash, and putting the cards on a white piece of paper. Using a stand also gives you both hands and, trust me, this app will work faster than you can put cards down and pick them back up.
The scanner is really good but not perfect. However the app freezes on me for no reason at times and I have to restart it . Other than that it can handle huge lists, I've done over 4000 cards. The scanner is really good. It detects most cards. I wish you could combine lists. Also it be good if the export feature included the 8 digit card number on the front so I could upload the list to YGOPROdeck.
The scanner appears to be highly sensitive to light levels. It will not work at all under artificial light, even with the scanner verification level set to the lowest value and/or the flash turned on. For me, it only seems to work in the evening when the sun is going down. Also, some common cards from MtG are missing from their database with no way to submit them for inclusion. In general though, it's a very useful app… when it works.
It keeps crashing whenever I try to scan a card select if its first edition or unlimited or if I try to find the set. The only fix seems to be killing the app from my settings then restarting the app. It used to be after maybe 20-30 cards but now it happens every other card. Even clearing the cache does nothing. I do see a lot of potential in this app and hope it will improve over time. I will continue to use this despite the constant errors and crashing. Update I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app which seems to have fixed the issue for now but it's only been a few minutes hopefully it's table this time. Not even 5 minutes after reinstalling it was from running smoothly and it's already crashed When selecting the version of the card.
Happy so far. Once you read the instructions scanning cards is relatively fast. I'd like to see two improvements. 1) sync the collection feature on the website and the collections in the app ) adding two cards with the same name but different quality is a pain. For example, adding a foil card and the same card but non-foil requires you to manually add one of them.
Scanning (MTG) cards works fine. But trying to modify entries (different set, etc) is virtually impossible. It worked once, but then not on any other card, or the same card image shows up regardless of what i select, or the collection scroll locks up, etc. Also, where are the additional games? I've come back to the app after several months since release but there is literally no change to the functionality and game library.
It's a great resource for collecting, buying, and selling cards/accessories from multiple tcg's, but recently(last few months) I've been having one issue after another, and a friend of mine has as well. For a while, we couldn't order cards because of a billing address glitch that looped infinitely, and now, I can't even check my cart. Hopefully these issues are resolved soon.
The scan feature for cards is super finicky and has incredible difficulty picking up foils. The interface seems easy to use, but the convenience of having the app is overshadowed by the card scanner. Overall I'd recommend just using the website. Edit: I did all that. An app like this is meant to have an ease of use. I expected better given your site's reputation. Do better.
I love using the tcgplayer app. It's very useful in pricing my cards and the scanner works very well for the most part. However, if you want to set a price point for th list of cards you scanned you're put of luck. It'll automatically be set for mid. Sometimes I want to set the entire scanned list as market or trade in low. Also, everything else is just links to webpages. Navigation is easier through browser if you're going to do anything other than scanning a card to check it's price.
Good for the most part. Some issues with scanner namely doesn't pick up some cards when in a plastic sleeve and occasionally, when some cards are scanned multiple times, add it in as from different expansions. Currently doesn't sort by name after sorting by expansion. Also, I would like to see the estimated price for each list and as a whole group without having to go into each list individually.
While I do like this app quite a bit, there are some flaws. Having to transfer to a new phone was a little difficult, as the export/import system, while it works, is extremely finicky. On top of that, it crashes quite frequently. However, it does provide accurate prices of many different types of cards and allows you to not only keep them well organized, but allows you to sell them as well.
In the beginning I liked the app. After using a while now it's extremely frustrating. Scanner doesn't work all that well all the time irregardless of using the app recommendations for scanning. Half the time you are manually entering your cards. When it does scan over 50% of the time it's the wrong set or type. You have to go back in and manually change it to correspond with your actual card.
Great App! Saves loads of time cataloging and searching for sets, rarity, foils and releases. The price guide is phenomenal and the export and storage is awsome. Only problem is, it has a hard time with foils, and often reads a card incorrectly multiple times throwing in random outlandish rare cards. If you scan one and it's worth lots of $$ don't get to excited double checl make sure it is the card and set you intended to scan. This error actually happens every other 2-3 scans. Nice free app.
