I stopped using this app in March 2021 as it was very temperamental, sometimes it would connect and sometimes it wouldn't and quite often it crashed so much so that I uninstalled it. Anyway thought I would give it another try today after reading it had had an update and low and behold it connected straight away with my box and so far it hasn't crashed.
90% of the time it doesn't connect, ended up having to jump out in the rain to adjust it under thr bonnet on the device Edit. Unfortunately I can't get it to connect at all. Pretty unacceptable for for an expensive optional extra. The product itself is great but I think I'll advise people stay clear of the bluetooth option as I feel pretty scammed out of the extra money.
Very temperamental, sometimes my phone connects and other times it doesn't. Unstable connection to the tuning box. Had this box and the app installed for or over 12 months and this problem has never improved. (2 stars). *This app has been updated.* Was asked to edit my review after an update that apparently fixed the connection problem, back to square one with a very unstable connection. (1 star). I would reccoment everyone to avoid the Bluetooth option, its extra money for an added problem
Pairing all good. Simple app to use. Good user interface. Only criticism is the app does not allow rotation. I use a tablet (Samsung tablet lite) in the car as my head unit that gives me the option to have 2 or 3 apps open at 1 time on my screen. Due to screen rotation not being allowed at all it does not work. This is also the same on my phone (Samsung fold 3). Adding this option would increase to 5 star from me
Just downloaded the updated app and tested it. Looks like some of the connectivity issues may have been resolved as connected to my box straight away. Didn't have to do the normal close and repeat 2 or 3 times before it connected. Hope it stays this way 🤞
Thia app worked GREAT.....until the latest update.... Bluetooth used to pair in a matter of seconds.....now, after the update (which supposedly improved the pairing), when I open the app, the dots just keep going. I then have to close the app, then open again, accept, then it pairs in about 3 seconds (as it used to). Please fix this!!!! Thanks Eddie
App and Bluetooth are not good . Save your money and don't pay extra for the Bluetooth . Was advised to delete app and re start phone then download app again to sort out glitch which worked initially then next time when I tried to start app in csr to change chip settings it once again would not pick up the chip . Your quicker just jumping out and changing manually . Very disappointed in the extra money I was charged for the bluetooth . AVOID
Excellent app. Since my 21 Ultra updated to Android 12 there has been no issue in connecting to the box via Bluetooth. Transpires it was an Android 11 issue. App is great to control the settings on the box at anytime you like.
I have a 21 plus running android 12 and the ap doesn't recognise the unit. The phone paired easily with the device. I have followed the instructions from tdi with the exception of using another phone.
DON'T Bother with the Bluetooth version .temperamental to say the least will not connect at all . Usual excuse we've never had this problem before delete the app ect . Tried on 5 different phones all saying the same fault . However the system itself is fine just dont waste time with the Bluetooth
This app is trash. Just got the tuning box and can't even pair the box to my phone without the app crashing. Fortunately you can adjust the box manually but it's still inconvenient. I'm hoping this company will fix the issue soon.
Bluetooth didn't connect at first. Was contacted twice by Steve at TDI Tuning himself to rectify the issue. Ended up going down to their office. Issue resolved. Great customer service. Amazing lads. If you box doesn't connect don't hesitate to give TDI Tuning a call.
Many people dislike this app as each time an update arrives it won't work with their device. Last week, I was at TDI Tuning, told them whilst in the waiting room about the reviews and the person replied you need to disconnect the app from the device, add it again so it works correctly again. I hope this review helps people so not to phone TDI and ask the same questioned answered above. I don't have any issues whatsoever. Works perfectly for me.
App keeps crashing. Only opens for a few seconds at a time. Struggles to connect to the box even when next to it. Very poor, needs serious work.
Pairing either doesn't work or when it does the App doesn't hold the settings for the next time. Quicker to open the bonnet and select the mode. Waste of money for Bluetooth money.
Connectivity all fine for me. Gives full control of the CRTD4 BT tuning box. Re-mapping via the web site very useful when I wanted something a bit different.
App is absolutely rubbish as it never connects to the box. You better just getting the normal turning box rather than the Bluetooth box.
App keeps crashing and delays when connecting, however on apple device either iPhone or ipad works perfectly. Developers need to updatw application due to crashing all the time..
The app was working but now it opens then just crashes and never connects to car. Using Sony 5ii phone, I don't recommend buying this box. Also the permissions it wants are ridiculous.
It never works first time. Just sits on please wait. Have to close and restart app for it to connect to box. App itself very basic, but does what it needs to.
Renault trafic 2017 1.6 118bhp. £377 later, claimed 40hp increase, barely any difference- maybe 10hp max, and definitely no difference between setting 4 and 7, bluetooth is sketchy, I think I'll stick to remaps in future.
Sometimes need to open and close the app 5 times to get it to finally connect, in that time I could be in the bonnet and change the settings myself ...
The app worked a few times but I have given up on it as it is too unstable. Don't waste your money on the Bluetooth option.
Initially unable to connect to the system but a recent update as well as good customer service has turned it around. Couldn't ask for much more from it
App doesn't pair with device, only after a few attempts. App crashes when I start timer.
Works most of the time on my everyday phone but a big disappointment on the phone I have fixed in my dash to run various things it won't even open the app
Works, but it's not stable at all, crashes every time you leave the app.
The App Works perfectly fine with the VPN switched off and no other Bluetooth devices attached
This is purely for the connectivity. Although I can pair with the unit, the unit and app don't recognise each other. This has been tried on smasung s6, s10 s21+ and tab 6 lite. This is something that needs to be sorted out as this seems to be a very common issue. I would tell everyone to steer clear of the Bluetooth option as it currently is.
