My TDS receiver does not display the four digit code on my television, though that method for connectivity works for a variety of other applications, such as Prime and Netflix. It is a shame that with a monopoly in my area, and having pretty much the only fiber optic system available, that TDS cannot keep up with other telecommunications systems for the general public. This app was great to use on my cellphone as a remote because the regular tv remote does not work well when I'm at the kitchen table as the sofa back is in the line of sight from the table to the cable box. It was also great to be able to schedule recordings when I was away from home. Please bring the TV Companion App back please.
Worked fine until last week. I can no longer pair my device with the receiver The four numbers never appear on tv screen. Due to poor eyesight this was important to me. Note others are reporting same issue. 78u
Worked for a while. All of a sudden wanted me to pair with my TV again. Can't get a code and can't get to the settings menu. Guess I'll uninstall it since it's just wasting space on my phone
I consider myself tech savvy, and no matter how many times I try, following all directions, no code shows up on my TV. I would love to know why it isn't working..... Super disappointed
Worked fine until today. Now the app is no longer paired and it won't display a number on my TV to pair it again. Garbage app.
Used 2 b good. Can't pair and when it does won't recognize receivers or channel. Seriously TDS how hard is it to maintain 1 lousy little app. It's not like u have 2 dump a ton of cash you don't have into it.
The app doesn't work. It requests you pair your device by using the four digit code that should appear on your TV, but the code never appears.

The app needs an update. It doesn't work with the newest Android phone. It worked great on my old phone.

Never proceeds past the pair device process. Basically useless. First day as a TDS customer not impressed with anything so far.
my wife broke our remote and tds said it would be 5 to 7 business days till we could get a replacement. discovered this app and I said screw the remote this is even better!

This app worked fine for me for over a year. I have one main box and two satellite boxes. Now it cannot find any of my TDS cable boxes. Cannot pair or discover. Something broken here! Please fix. Update: every few days I try pairing. Still no codes. I am connected to TDS actiontec wireless on my phone. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling app. No change, no response from any box. No pairing codes. Just frustrating because it used to work.
Edit: I didn't move on. In 2019 this app no longer works with Android Q. It opens, but cannot control the receiver even when it pairs. You receive an error message stating the app was built for an older version of And TDS briefly showed promise in 2014, but has steadily descended into hell by 2018. App breaks and can't re-pair with the receiver. Latest in long line of reasons I'm just done with both home service and keeping TDS at work. Both contracts are long since expired and time to move on.
