Its a news app for startups, new technologies and their fundings. News are great and they cover almost every criteria. The only problem is that when i try to find any old article by using a keyword it always say "Your search did not get any results. please try a different keyword". So basically you can only read the current news and nothing from the archive.
On all of my Android phones in the past, this never seems to work! The desktop application works great, of course. But the mobile app version completely fails! I can never open an article nor can I search for any words in the Search bar.
Personally I was fascinated with the tech news you provide us and that too innovative. I do not know about your own personal developer, I guess you seem busy focusing on others developments and progress and forget about your own app. Yes the app is light weight but it will freeze number of times while launching. I have tested the app on number of different devices got same issue.. its a funny thing techcrunch being a gaint tech startups & yet they lack basic functionality in their on app.
I keep on getting issues with images in the app. It doesn't show the image just a content I'd. Since yesterday the author of the article is displayed right below the heading of the article on the main screen of the app. But it is so close that they overlap. I have a Galaxy Note9
Good but it has its flaws. A lot of the formatting doesn't show up correctly on Android. I'm running Android 10 on a Pixel 3a and frequently see html tag code that didn't get parsed correctly in the articles. I can include a screenshot if the developer contacts me.
Litteray half of the app doesent work. It's been months and they seem to not care EDIT: Still broken. Amongst a vast variety of broken surprises, image displaying in articles has been broken for probably over a year and no one seems to care. Just displays the short code.
Most of the articles I get on my Google feed dissappear when redirected to the techcrunch app. I'm also getting error messages to try again later. They need to increase their development budget. These problems have existed for a while.
TechCrunch has consistently been a long favourite of mine for tech news. Never plagued by clickbait, actually informative articles, and creative journalism. This app only enhances that even further, didn't even know it existed until I checked!
Jarring experience. Guys youve got to fix your pagination on the main tab. Has been happening to since quite some months. After first some results, the next results dont load. And that's the home feed.
Seriously, how can you have an app like this and at the same time cover the startup economy? Why can I not (find the) sign in to my TC profile? Nowhere to be seen, can I even manage my subscription in the app? Can't read extra crunch articles either despite having the subscription. Articles are just cut off at the bottom, no further info on how to lift this limitation. Awful...
Notifications not working. emailed twice about it. no comment. No notifications = No news = No use... (obviously checked the settings and getting any other app's notifications just fine)
The search feature doesn't work with very simple and basic keywords like Facebook or Whatsapp. This is very irritating as the user is unable to read some specific news which they want to.
The app is completely unresponsive on my OnePlus 7. It is ridiculous that the app for a leading tech magazine won't even function on other reviewers (new) devices. Sort it out.
Poor usability. Can't figure out whether I have enabled or disabled push notifications. Nevertheless, never got any notification in either setting
App has lot of issues (noticed in the last several versions) with content not loading and app not refreshing. Was great at one point but now not so much.
Unable to see pictures and a lot of the articles because of a "tap to view content" pop up that doesn't even work.
It works reliably & is easy to use but the limited customisability of the interface & lack of a dark mode in 2020 means I can't rate it higher.
Pretty bad app overall half the time the pages won't render properly. The other half the links don't work within the article.
With no way to sign in and the search function completely broken (No results for anything), this is basically just a curated news list which I'm not looking for.
functionality of navigate to article from outside link is broken. Each time when I choose article to read from facebook post it navigate me to blank page in techcrunch application
All seems to be going well, but one thing bothers me. There doesn't seem to be a dark mode and as far as I go, this is my go to mode when reading. Please make sure to include it in the next update and I will make sure to update the review with five stars! Thank you in advance.
Stuffed full of ads, keeps pushing you to upgrade subscription, and article quality isn't even that great. Uninstalled.
App is very buggy. See a new issue now - I can't scroll down to see more stories. It's funny when a company which critiques other tech products can't make a decent yesteryear tech product.
Search doesn't work at all. There's no way to find anything I'm interested in. Two stars because the text is legible.
No space between words! Content yes, but experience? Loading time of new articles in the main list is also very slow
Giving 4 stars for the content. The search bar is dormant and of no use. Hire me, I'm sure I can make your app way way better in just 2-3 months.
I don't understand why application never loads videos or images in the articles? It always appear empty blank space. Also every article ends with coding error
It's a great app to get tech news. But, there is a major bug, when I click on the links in the articles, it just redirects me to a blank page. I mean this bug is applicable for each and every link in the app. I'm not sure how developers and qas missed this obvious bug. Apart from this I would appreciate a functionality which would allow me to navigate articles by swiping left or right without the need for going to the main screen every time I open an article.
