It’s smart tech that gives parents like you peace of mind. The app tells you the details on exactly how they drove including phone use, texting, aggressive driving, speeding and more.
The app scores each trip, so your teen can learn where they need improvement. They’ll also have fun challenging themselves to achieve higher scores while becoming a safer driver!
Driving trips are graded on a 100 point scale (100 being the top score) and monitor driving behaviors such as distracted driving, aggressive driving and high speeds. The better the driving behavior, the better the score.
With the app, you can engage the whole family in promoting safer driving habits. You’ll be able to track your teen’s progress and their whereabouts while they’re driving. You can even “compete” with your teen to see who can get higher app scores. It’s smart, safe fun that builds good driving habits.
Please note that use of the Teen Safe Driver℠ application is restricted to invited American Family Insurance customers.

it crashes when i try to open my family, doesn't track my location or driving. my parents, who have iphones, have no issue with the application, meaning it isn't even properly optimized for android. fix your app. you shouldnt be basing your discounting on a program that hasn't been updated in three years, nonetheless a non functional app. would highly recommend not installing the app despite if they pester you for it.
Does not keep up with my teens tracking. Last reported track was nov. 24, 2020, and according to the app, he has been at work for the last 5 days, never leaving. Today is nov. 29th. Not a consistent app for tracking. No updates reported. Very frustrated with this app.
Not been able to create an account due to the app not working. It won't let you type in anything when is asking for your information to set up.
This app doesn't work let alone automagically. It stops working and logs no trips for a week and when it does log it only logs small portions of it not the entire trip. AmFam should not base discounts on this app until it works.
loaded the app. drove with it for the first time with my husband in the car. It logged him as driving. We generally ride to work together. He drives one way and I drive the other really not worth it if it's not going to work right.
Not able to create login.
This app does not have a comprehensive compatibility list published. Android 4.3 is the only requirement listed and that is not really the only factor. There are also specific sensors that are required for the program to work. If your phone does not have ALL of the required sensors, the app store and the app will show as incompatible. Some of the required major sensors are GPS, an Accelerometer and a Gyroscope. If any are missing, like the Gyroscope on my kids E4 then it is incompatible... but now where does it say this. I got all that from support after the fact. .
