Update: Stability and consistancy has improved. The app still seems to forget my password about every week, but is otherwise usable. Previous: Please make the message access more consistent. I have had three appointments cancelled because I was not able to access the proper messages to confirm them. I am also unable to see notes/messages left by my therapist with links to additional resources.
The app has often had issues loading or with glitches. On top of that I was trying to help someone I care about set up an account and it won't let them add their insurance without calling. It doesn't even have an option to add insurance under billing and insurance. I use this service and recommend it for the video calls cause they're easier mentally than phone calls. It's literally a hard wall to getting help most of the time and is not user friendly.
Unfortunately, one of the worst apps I have used. Bluetooth headphones don't work in app. So much confusion with setting an appointment, errors with time zones (provider in different zone), it should show what zone. Also says I have appointments when I really don't. I like telehealth but amazed how clunky this app is. These are not little glitches, these are major flaws that haven't been fixed for the full time I have been using.
Update: while I love the access and the premise, I'm increasingly frustrated with the number of glitches and things that just don't work well in the app. For as bad as teladoc wants to be make player, they sure don't care much about end user experience in the app. Frustrating! A very good app overall. Some strange glitches with scheduling have occurred, and the video by cell phone doesn't seem to be optimized well, however, for what it does do it is a great option.
Its not the best experience. The app is very very buggy. There has been quite a few times when there was double audio and video while doing a video chat with a dr resulting in the session ending. Theres also been problems with my account where all of my information was lost and my account was locked. I had to have another account created. Unfortunately this is my only option at the moment to continue seeing my current provider. I do hope they fix these issues soon.
The care provided is usually really good, but the $0 copays don't make up for the issues with the technology of the app itself. I have weekly mental healthcare appointments, and something goes wrong every single week, whether I use the app or the website -- but the app is worse. It forgets my username and I have to reset the biometrics about once a month, appointments are made and then just don't show up, the audio/video sporadically doesn't work, etc. Also, they're not trans-friendly at all.
Horrible. Not user friendly. Constantly has me redo my log in info (not change anything, just re register and set up fingerprint). Providers are NOT thorough! You have to ask them questions multiple times to maybe get an answer. There seems to be no oversight. Consultations get Cancelled without any explanation or reason. Info has to be entered new for every f/u, even with the same provider with same treatment plan. This is the worst version of telehealth I can think of.
Very glitchy. Always logs me out and I have to reverify my fingerprint all the time. Does not save my login information. Even when connected to stong WiFi, the video calls are extremely laggy and take away from the overall experience. They need to hire someone else on their engineering team and get us a better app. These app issues have been happening for years.
I have no idea how this app could have over 4 stars. This is the worst app for video chat or medical assistance that I have ever used. Here's a list of the things I have experienced so far. 500 characters is not enough to describe the issues I have experienced in my short time using this application. * Bt headset isn't detected * Video calls constantly echo * Video feed goes black * Notifications are sent multiple times (I missed an appointment I thought was cancelled due to this issue) AndMore
They removed my original review which speaks volumes. From my experience, this is not a good app for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. When I needed it most I was unable to get any help, even from customer service which I was entirely unable to even find a way to contact. I'm not saying any other Tele health apps are any better, I've only used this one, but this one has proven to be vastly disappointing.
This app is so completely infuriating. It cancels appointments for no reason. Even though I have it set to biometric login it makes me login manually every single time. Its impossible to navigate. I literally only use it because I live in the middle of nowhere and don't have time to drive an hour to see a doctor in person. Of you have the option, use anything but this trash app.
This app is terrible!!! I've tried to use it twice and both times the app keeps kicking me out of the waiting room and both times they cancelled my appointment saying I was not able to be reached!! The first time I waited 9 hours for my appointment and didn't even get a notification and the second time I got the notification but my appointment was cancelled IN LESS THAN A MINUTE!!! Literally by the time I logged into the app my appointment was gone!
Update March 2022: It's worse, absolutely horrible! I scheduled an appointment, got notice that doctor looks at my records...and 5 seconds later my appointment was cancelled....No reason or explanation. I've tried it FOUR more times: same result, doctors looks at my records and appointment gets cancelled (I think once or twice it stated that they couldn't reach me...I was on standby..ready to answer right away.) I called their customer service...finally got a person on the phone and....he hung up on me....unbelievable...I called again asking for a call back - which of course never happened... DO NOT RELY ON TELEDOC!!! App is horrible. Password issues everytime I log in. Resetting the password takes several attempts because screen gets stuck all the time. Set up appointment once, received confirmation via text but next time I logged in, appointment was not there. If you relay on a doctor, I wouldn't use it.
Video calls on phone are very bad. Audio feedback issues are the main problem. Password options are also a problem. No option to auto-login with Mobile app and despite adding a pin and fingerprint login option, I'm never allowed to use it. Instead I have to open my password manager to grab the saved password for my login and then come back to the teladoc app. Just a mess.
Compassionate and knowledgeable provider. I was extremely appreciative that he reviewed my meds and history to provide the right treatment. That's hard to come by nowadays. App was user friendly, even with my complex medical history. One downside was the waiting room screen wouldn't scroll down to see the other information (like tech support number). When the doc came into the call I was still in that screen, I could not see the provider, just myself in a little bubble on the screen.
3 times this app has failed me.. Uninstalled. This app is one of those apps that stop functioning when you need it the most. Literally every single time I log on to the app I have to abandon it and get on my computer because the app stops working. I thought it was my phone at first but the reviews.. I'm not the only one... the app needs a service stability update because "error" isn't something people need to see when your having an issue... fix your app. DONT ASK ME TO CONTACT PLEASE.
Calendars with no dates; the system does not allow the doctor or counselor to set the appointment time; appointments can only be made on the half-hour but we are agreeing on a 15 minute interval, like 9:15 a.m, but we can't do that; repetitive time consuming entries demanded by the system each and every week. I wish this was a system that started recently and is ironing out the issues. Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten any better in the last year, in fact, a little worse with changes
So much quicker and easier than an office visit! I just saw all the negative reviews, and while I opted for voice call, not video, everything went smoothly with the app. No hickups at all. (I also do not use biometrics to logon to my phone) So maybe that's part of it? Idk, seems great to me!
I do not care for this app. I keep having login issues. Today, I couldn't access my video appointment. There was no link, but I could see where the therapist set an appointment for todays date and time. Also, the app gives me issues when trying update my billing address.
Biometric login just doesn't seem to work at all for me, the app doesn't remember my username, the app prevents Google from being able to automatically log me in, the app requires me to log in every time I minimize the app (which makes it really difficult if I have to access information the app is asking for in another window!) App will log me out due to inactivity and fail to save any information I've input after a short period of time. It works otherwise it's just enormously clunky to use.
Perfect for medical. Dermatologist replied quickly, and was helpful. Mental health scheduling has been a nightmare in my experience however. Providers show times and methods of availability then deny requests with hardly any response. Customer service is friendly, but can't help with scheduling. I've had this service half a year and still haven't seen anyone. I cannot with good conscience recommend this app for anyone suffering from mental health issues.
This app used to be phenomenal, but as it's evolved and matured, the quality has declined. The request to provide feedback is obnoxious (every single time I click the Dashboard button? Really?). The fingerprint login is glitchy and makes me re-login with my regular credentials every single time. The button to cancel my appointment is huge and keeps coming back, even after I close it. For as amazing as a service as Teledoc is, the app team really needs to take another look at the functionality.
When I missed a call I called right back and was redirected 4 times, spent over 30 minutes on phone and never was sent to the correct person. Very frustrating especially when you are having medical issues already. Would rather just deal with my PCP.
The convenience of the app is great. The doctors are nice and are able to help however it's the app itself that is lacking. Many glitches within the app and certain buttons don't work. It's very frustrating.
Love this app. But did have a problem trying to set up an appointment. It asked for 3 pictures when setting up an appointment for dermatologist. Everytime I downloaded a pic it would sign me out then sign me back in. And 2 times it made me start the patient information process all over again. Finally, i ended up getting an appointment scheduled! I also needed an appointment for a general dr. Inwhich that was not all that hard to set up and the Dr called me within 15 mins or so.
This service is marketed as being convenient for users, but I have found it to be a nightmare when it comes to finding counseling services. None of the listed providers are ever available, or it says they are and then they or the app just never gives any confirmation or they just don't show up on the day. I'm sad that this is what my insurance covers and not an actually helpful service.
Overall, the app is a champion! Easy navigation. Very robust. I did run some negative test(of the app's functionality while completing my visit) and it met the expectations and passed! Great QA works!
Awful connection issues. Can't even get phone calls to connect sometimes. No direct messaging between clients and providers. If you want to message your doc you have to schedule a whole new appointment, leave a message in the "other" category and hope that your doc reads it. Ive had several instances where's it's clear they haven't read what I've put into the app - so no clue even if the providers receive that info! It's all an absolute pain to get seen.
