Tello FPV - Control the Ryze Tello drone FPV + RTH

Ok, after a rocky start, it seems the app is finally working fine. On Android 11, if you have any "Accessibility Settings" enabled, it will break all Bluetooth controllers and the app won't be able to properly use the controllers (You'll be selecting UI elements for some reason). This sems to be an Android bug that so far has not been fixed. You can easily hit this error on Motorola phones when you have "Swipe to split" enabled, which is using this feature.

Was trying to do the circle POI when it suddenly shot up to the sky..Pressed home button and I thought it was coming back when it shot up again much much higher until connection was lost. I watched helplessly as it flew away and never to be seen again. Goodbye$100. I wonder if I used the regular Tello app if that would have happened. I thought FPV was better. Only reason I bought this app was because of video capture. The original app didn't record any video.

Got a new Tello with a T1D controller. The original app from Ryze did not work on my phone; currently running android 12 and the TD1 would not connect through the app either. After rummaging around the internet, I found this app. Was able to connect to my Tello and use the TD1 controller with no problem except that roll means you pan left and right. Thank you so much.

App works really well. Specially little things like setting up the FPV visor and the enganced video frame that greatly improves the experience. Though, I have a question, is it possible to set a fixed speed? Maybe it is and I didn't see the option.

I just purchased the fpv app and can see major improvements with video frame drop and additional features that are not available on the normal Tello app. My only issue is with the onscreen control. Left stick works fine with up/down/left/right turn. The Right stick in non responsive though. I cannot get the Tello to move forward and backward. Please help. Thank you for your prompt response. Re-installing the app worked. 5 star rating.

The official Tello app crashes on my phone, so I started searching for alternatives. Eventually I found this app, and after testing the demo version, decided to buy the full version and I don't regret it in the slightest. Video and Photo quality are incredible (they seemed to be either the same or superior to the ones obtained with the official app when I tried another phone), you can use any controller to fly the drone, and a lot more that I can't write with the 500 characters limit.Recommended

This is a really superb app. My only concern is video occasionally freezing (but not flight controls), which can be immediately remedied only by pressing the home button and reopening the app. (changing the flight mode to sport and back doesn’t fix it.) If the app had a way of detecting the freeze and restarting the relevant components, that would be my main fix. Also, it's under advertised that the help function is an extremely comprehensive PDF manual. I've learned a lot about Tello! Thanks!!

Essential app for FPV tello control. I am using the ironman edition and it works well, albeit a little rough around the edges. However, it allows you to customize your VR field of view!To connect your T1D or Flypad, turn your controller on, hit scan, then click the master controller tab and select your controller. NEXT - click the 3 dots and lines menu in the upper left, hit settings, then controller. Until I followed these steps I was unable to connect my controllers. I hope this helps.

great app, should have installed it sooner!Highly recommended to anyone. Volate!lo,2 requests if possible for future release 1. could you incorporate 'Up and away' but let us stipulate the distance? 2. It is already fantastic that 'orbit' now allows you to pick the distance and speed, but would it be possible to incorporate half circles (180 degrees),instead of it having to go all the way round (full 360)?Maybe also a value that we can select, 90, 120 and so forth..? thank you. again, great app

Really like this app as an alternative to the Tello app, which was unusable on my phone. The manual is great at describing everything for beginners. My only issue so far is my pictures fail to download for some reason. They were fine at first and then randomly stopped working. Other than that, fantastic app.

Very good app for the Tello drone. It has many function that's not available in the original Tello app. The most useful feature for me is that it allow me to use any stick mode I want, not just mode1 and mode2. And the buttons for Bluetooth controller are fully configurable to the way you wanted. I should also mention that the developer is very responsive and eager to help me fix a small problem that I had with my phone. Well done, guys.

Tried trial version for one hour and then bought the full version. What I like best is the capability to fine tune the virtual joysticks (using the on screen controller) to respond differently in Sport mode vs. Video mode. Also, you can individually customize the response curves in Roll, Pitch and Yaw. You will be very pleased by the features that this app gives you above and beyond the basic features you get with the original Tello app. I am using this app on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (tablet). I wish that there was a version of this available for use on my iPhone, but there is not at this time.

Keeps losing connectivity to the tello. Keeps mentioning vps or something. This is not good when in flight! EDIT: I don't feel I have changed anything other than I cleaned the sensors and so far it's worked perfectly, so I have changed my review. The app itself is very good. I'll keep testing to see if I can get it upto a 5 star 👍

Downloaded the trial, everything seemed to work so paid for this about 15 minutes later. So worth it as the stock Tello app is rubbish. Photos and video are much better in Tello FPV and even the control of the drone is more responsive. I even played with the app's makeshift AI settings like return to home and it works impressively well considering the drone itself doesn't have these capabilities so it's leveraging your phone technology and its software.

A very impressive app. I fly 5 tellos at school. Quite often when I turn on two of the tellos and the tablets I am asked to verify the licence through Play Store. It says I only need to do this the first time I fly. This means going back to settings, connecting my home wifi, going back into the app, going back to the settings, connecting the tello then going back into the app to fly. Very frustrating and time consuming when trying to get kids flying. How can I overcome this problem? Otherwise, once connected it is a great app to use.

Got my son a Tello for his birthday. Find out the Tello app won't launch at all on my phone (Samsung S21 FE 5G running Android 12). Tello FPV to the rescue. Well worth the money (I didn't even try the Demo first, but looks like trying the free Demo is a good idea). I've had absolutely no problems with the app - put the phone in Airplane mode, turn on BT and WiFi, turn on my Xbox controller (the original Xbox One controller doesn't have Bluetooth support but any of the more recent ones do), go into WiFi and connect to the Tello drone, go back to the Tello FPV app, and have fun.

Amazing 3rd party app. And with regular updates it becomes even more amazing. So many more features than standard. Even the video is better as it shows the frame glitches instead of just dropping frames. Well worth the money to get the most from your Tello. Thank you!

Had issues with the original tello app, the video was not visible at all on my Moto g6 plus. Started using this app, works just perfectly as the original app if not better than that. Just a suggestion maybe in future updates you can add customisation to the on-screen joysticks the two red dots are sometimes just too simple, other than that it's just great!!

License check prevented me from using. I was at an event last night and really wanted to use the app and couldn't because i didnt have a wifi or data signal. i missed some good video due to this. I was very disappointed, because otherwise this is a great app that has worked really well.

good as expected, but add more features that i want (if possible): manual mode, not altitude hold mode again acro mode, makes tello a whole lot of fun adjust angle limits for pitch & control, so you can adjust your speed within wind conditions.

Great app, way better than the original. I particularly like the test period to try out the GPS feature to check if your phone's GPS and compass are accurate enough before you purchase it. My phone wasn't up to it so I didn't buy it. This shows how ethical the developer is. Great job.

Rth is the best function for the tello. The paranormal photo as well. ** latest update seem to have Bluetooth conflict with Gamesir controller, tried without Bluetooth and glitching stops. Onscreen glitching a lot compared to the factory Tello app which doesn't display any glitching occurrence when using Bluetooth with Gamesir. Hope it can be resolved. thanks!

Well worth the price of admission. The manufacturer's app was never fully compatible with my Pixel 3 and stopped working altogether with the update to Android 12. Tello FPV by Volate!lo has better features and you can try before you buy to make sure it's going to work for you. Can't beat that.

So frustrating! Twitchy to set up , does **not** work without cell connection, extremely limited range and altitude for no reason. Terrible experience.

So much better than the Ryze app. Clearly the dev has put love and effort into this app as it vastly improves the experience. I brought the solely so I could connect my PS4 controller to Tello, but it's so much more than that. Although Tello is a toy this app tries to lift it into a real drone space, Headless mode, RTH, customization far beyond Ryze, details right there on screen. No messing around in menus mid flight as its all on the screen. It's a shame the detractors don't understand.
