Tello FPV Demo - Control App for Ryze Tello RTH VR
This is a free demo version of the TelloFPV app. It allows you to test if your particular phone and controller setup is compatible with TelloFPV before buying the full app.
Please consider this is a courtesy for you when rating the app, and rate fair according to functionality provided vs. what is present in the original Tello App.
If you are asking for obstacle avoidance, GPS, or a Gimbal please buy a full size drone.

As a demo version it carries the following restrictions compared to the full app:
* Max altitude is 2m
* Only one photo is stored, overwriting previous photos
* Only one set of photos for panorama stitching is stored
* Only one short video is stored, overwriting previous videos
* Expires after 10 flights, or 5 days after installation

Tello is sensitive to RF noise on the wifi band it uses, which causes video to stutter or show pixelation / compression artifacts. To get best video feed & recordings please review the detailed information i the manual.
Known defects
* Android 10 user: Android 10 broke bluetooth networking. Many devices just don't connect anymore. There is nothing the app can do about this. You have to wait for Google to fix this in their Android system.

Awesome app! Original only supports 3 controllers. I have more testing to do, then I'm buying the full app. Love that we can test it first! I only have two suggestions, to make it perfect. VR image deformation for the lenses and button combos! I can't assign everything to the controller due to lack of combos. For example, I put the flips on the D-Pad, but the diagonal flips could be done with left trigger+D-Pad. I will try long-press for now, but there are other functions I want to assign...
Not connecting to Tello app - Hauwei P30 Pro. Would give more stars if it connects. * * That worked great, Thanks! I am still testing the app but like it very much so far. I have an old Genius USB controller connected to my fone via USB-C port with an adaptor and it detected it with no problems. I mapped a few buttons and off I went. Will buy the full app soon!
Very good app for the Tello drone. It has many function that's not available in the original Tello app. The most useful feature for me is that it allow me to use any stick mode I want, not just mode1 and mode2. And the buttons for Bluetooth controller are fully configurable to the way you wanted. I should also mention that the developer is very responsive and eager to help me fix a small problem that I had with my phone. Well done, guys.
Fantastic app, works perfectly fine with an Xbox controller that the official app would not recognize. Please consider having a way to change the distance between the two screens in VR mode. I cannot avoid seeing double when using my Gear VR with this. I believe this has something to do with different people having different pupillary distances, so having a way to adjust this would be great! EDIT: Yes, I understand that it won't be possible to get a 3D image with only a single camera. What I meant was for the images to overlap each instead of seeing double when using VR. I only see the options for Center X, Center Y, Size video mode, and 3D effect for HUD. Nothing for IPD as far as I can tell. EDIT 2: Ok, I got it now, Center X is to change the IPD distance. Thanks to the developer for replying!
I'm still trying this app out. It's an awesome app, I wish the features of doing tricks was all bundled up and the design was a little bit more like the Tello. Minimal and Pretty. The icons are a bit out of line also but the buttons work. Otherwise this app is worth it with Tello App. You can tweak the settings for the Tello which is pretty nifty.
Demo app is fine, but I think it should auto bind/connect to the GameSir T1d instead of having to do it every time when starting the app. Also the controller mapping should be default to same as what is mapped in the Tello app. This would make it a easy transition. All other features are great!
Good software. I will buy full version. Only remark is when trial expired, it was in the middle of the flight, neither funny nor safe. Nice menu.
Sorry but really not the experience I had hoped for... Kept losing xbox controller control mid flight... Really not enough test flights to figure out why? You'd be better dropping video and flip functionality etc than dropping all function as a demo..
Nice app. Didn't work too well with motorola g6. Keep dropping signal, video always breaking up and hard to connect controller (looses connection to app during flight). The tello app doesn't have the same problems, only non compatibility video. Hope these can be solved and I'll look at it again.
finally...I have been trying to find a fix for the tello video not working with my note 9 (which it was not known prior to purchase that it isnt a supported device) . I talked with ryze reps for a while and no fix available whatsoever. cut to a month later and someone mentioned this on a YouTube video...my prayers have been answered!
like the options , all the modes or options work very well , like most of all the option to setup your sticks for any stick mode, app is easy to use . I'm using the Samsung A7 the app did stop responding ones in 5 flights and video feed does brake up a lot
I couldn't get the drone connected to the Tello app, tried for hours with tech support, on a supported phone and Android version. This demo gave good suggestions on how to connect it and then it just worked fine. I'll definitely buy the paid version. 😊
For some reason this app doesn't see my gamesir T1D. the controller works fine with tello app. I'm not buying this app until I'm sure it works with it. ************* Tried all instructions in the manual. Even got the app to see the T1 but when selected joystick light flashes and never works I've tried YouTube videos on the subject NOTHING WORKS controller works fine with tello app Would really like to have this app too if it would only work. I'm out of ideas
Very impressive. It is what the official Tello app should have been. Great way to learn to fly a drone before moving up to the more expensive DJI drones. It is how I practiced before investing in a Mavic 2. Many of the functions and settings available on the larger drones are now available here too via this app. Well done developers.
Way better than the official Tello app. I like how there's an option to record video with sound, also the ability to shoot aerial panoramas. Keep up the great work, guys
Keep in mind, the developer can't add functionality not supported by the hardware. But he squeezes an incredible amount out of a nice little drone. Get the paid version is worth it!
Works great for controlling the Tello drone which is kinda the whole point! I got video writing on this one when the official Tello app didn't - got scared the drone camera wasn't working for a bit there! Going to buy the real version now. Thanks for providing a great try-before-you-buy experience!
The demo will not accept the "privileges" nor will it connect to the WiFi. A waste of time and no incentive to buy the full app.
It says i used it for a while but in fact i never used it. I once accidentally tapped its icon and thats it. I didnt connect it to my tello and i didnt use the app even without connecting. Very bad first impression.
Silly Demo Mode. It says 10 flights but if testing this is unacceptable. I thought might be 10 power off/ons or 10 switch of batteries, but no....... BE WARNED, this is 10 take offs which is absurd if trying to pair controller alone. One has to test and bumps (false landings) etc are all counted. Ridiculous and demo ran out within 5 mins of testing. In turn Nooooooo idea whether it can do what I need. Shame as looked interesting but won't be paying without knowing if it in fact works.
Seems cool saw on youtube test it. And it Crashed my drone to the celling fan! right after i pressed on start button!. After that fall on the floor... luckly minimal damge. I Didnt touch the "gas" also disconncted evey few second maybe my s21 dosnt have compabilty. With the tello app everything fine
Way better experience than with the official tello app. Connected to tello and gamesir controller on the first try! Also really like the ability to remap controller buttons.
The app is great! Sooo good , i love it ! 😍 Only one complain ...: The demo gives you 10 flights to try the app before you decide to buy it but i was fliyng when the app told me it was the 10th time and the app closed without warning leaving my drone in tge air with no control over it .😡😱😅🤣. I am buying it!!!😉
I am buying this app definitely, the one thing that sold it was the ability to connect to my Bluetooth controllers where as the other original Tello app would not even see my Bluetooth controllers that ryse sold me. I am disappointed in ryze company but not disappointed in DJI, and I am definitely not disappointed in this app. I thank you for creating an app that actually functions, you have my 100% support. thank you Kaida
Definitely the best Tello App. Finally I really feel full control over my Tello with all the implementations this demo provides. Will upgrade to full version immediately, no doubt about it. Made me fall more in love with this little critter!
Tello app didn't work for video and had grainy photos bought the full version immidiatly as this app actually worked with my tello drone on an unsupported device honor 6x is not on supported list for tello app yet this app works perfectly. Highly suggest you buy full app as it is 7x better that the official 1
Everything looks amazing and it gives more than the actual Tello App! A few minutes ago, I didn't want to buy the app since I couldn't figure out why I couldn't change the "on screen" to my "bluetooth" controller in the settings. I ended up figuring it out after restarting the drone and bluetooth setting. My only main concern is if there is an option to use VR?
