While the tags someone's respond when I'm trying to find them, the most annoying thing is the nagging to turn on Bluetooth then my phone is in battery saving mode. Closing the notification and or pops up again. Also alerts that my phone battery is low, I have the phone in my hand this is a bit pointless, also this alert comes up after its just come off charge (and literally at 100% battery charge).
So slow and glitchy, I can't even get the Wi-Fi tag set up after multiple attempts.. Have had to close and re open the app 4 times in 10 minutes. Everytime I try to save 'a safe zone' it doesn't save, so I can't get past setting a safe zone when adding a Wi-Fi tag... A pop up says 'complete setup' but every time I click it, it won't load.
Useless, so glad I didn't pay for it. Pairing the Bluetooth tags took forever. Getting the tag to ring, even when it's in the same room works <50% of the time. And when it does, it takes 2-3 minutes for it to start ringing. Then, it rings for 10 seconds. If I was a tually looking for my lost keys, I would never find them. Great idea, REALLY poor execution. These are gonna end up in my drawer of useless technology and cords. Maybe I'll try again in 6 months to see if they have improved.
UPDATE: With the latest update the app is now more stable and is yet to crash with my daily use. It's now a reliable companion for the use of the Telstra Locator Tags. Just keeps crashing once open for a few seconds. Makes it impossible to use because of these constant crashes. Needs to be made more stable before it can be used effectively.
When you press the music symbol there is no sound . I wanted this specifically because I keep misplacing my keys , I can't find them if the locator isn't making a sound . It worked just after I installed the app , but hasn't since . Would love some help sorting the problem out
Force closes useless. Note 9 Yes, every time I run the app it just closes sometimes almost immediately never runs for more than 60sec. This is an ongoing problem. Have just run the program for 10min without a crash, hopefully the problem is solved.
App was working great until I had to change my telstra ID. Now I can't login & use the app. Online chat people seem clueless in troubleshooting my issue though they tell me that my subscription is linked to my telstra account. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks. 20210217 update. Finally working again thanks to the development teams great work. Much appreciated!
Terrible tags do not work! Contrary to instructions, the Wi-Fi tag and Bluetooth tags do NOT get detected. It says press button twice. All the stupid tags do is go "beep beep" whenever you press it and nothing happens. I know the batteries are perfect, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on, my phone even recognises them on Bluetooth search but the App does not do anything! And yes I've uninstalled re-installed, reset phone, even tried changing battery in tag. This product is terrible.
I love the app dont get me wrong and I'll happily give it 5 stars but for months now the tracking is off, they are then aren't updating the location sometimes it doesn't update for 20 hours. my dog went missing and the dog was still down as being home but he was found 1.2km away. once it is fixed I'll happily give it 5 stars.
The locator app doesn't always pick up your items first time you ring them and often it doesn't pick up your item at all. It should locate and ring your item all of the time when you press the sound icon not when it feels like working.
Potentially 5 star butA few minor glitches, app restart needed in between ring device functions. Had to complete tag setup on tablet as phone just looped through radius setup. A software and firmware update and should be solid and usable. Telstra staff largely ignorant of this service as yet.
I use tags mainly for our dog and for bikes. The location updates often don't find the device despite being 5m from the wifi router, and often bounce around giving me false messages the dog or bike has left home, so not that accurate. Dog tag is not waterproof, so I've gone through 3 of them! When they no longer work you can't remove them from your device list (have to be in range to remove them...they dont work!!). Not sure why I bother really...
Another fail by telstra. First time I lost my keys the app said my keys where 60km away. They where in the couch less than a meter away. After finding them the old school way I still couldn't get the app to ring the locator. Im glad I didn't pay anything for this horrible service and theyre asking $10 a month for the privilege. What a joke
Doesn't work unless connected to your personal device My wallet was stolen a few days ago and it had a bluetooth telstra locator tag inside it, as soon as the tag disconnected from my phone, it was never heard from again, the police recovered it today and the tag came back online as soon as I entered the police station Absolutely useless Get an iPod and and use an AirTag instead, at least then you will be able to locate whatever it is attached to
I hate apps that don't do as they're told. I declined permission to run in the background and declined permission to use my location unless I was using the app. So what happens? I get banner notifications every few minutes saying the app is getting my location. No thanks.
This app seems to use the power in your phone up very fast. This app location is out by 2 to 300 m some cases 2 km. I've got the tag and my phone right beside each other and it shows to tag is at the end of the street
Very glitchy app. Sound button doesn't work. Repeatedly have to click things 5-10 times for it to respond. Terrible. Idea is good. Execution is bad
The big tracker one is difficult to charge magnetic connector not stronger keeps coming off. And only good for a dog too heavy big for cat. Small ones ok for keys.
Great technology and innovative idea from Telstra. It has helped me so many times to locate my phone, TV remote and keys.
The worst!!!! Don't waste your time or money with this. Is a battery killing, ineffective and not able to do what it claims. Please Australia, don't bother. There are better apps for free.
Furious now out how repeatedly useless this really is!!!!!! Unless you just want to know where your stuff is a month or so ago don't buy this incredibly useless rubbish.... finding your keys is all its good for not the WiFi locator
Since the moment I joined the service I have been receiving a notification that some Android users may be experiencing difficulty ringing a tag. I have successfully rung a tag 3 times since activation
Amazing product. I lost my keys over the weekend and it told me exactly where they were at the local police station, somewhere I never would have thought that they'd be. highly recommend!
I recently lost my wallet in the house and i was frantically trying to find it no hope, i remembered that i had a tag on my wallet, i opened the app and set off the tag and found my wallet, my partner looses his keys all the time just from lack of putting them somewhere he can find them but this app and tag help me so much on a day to day basis find important things and save me time and worry, very happy customer.
nbiot tag should have higher refresh rate. it can be hours between data points despite being in go coverage area, and object moving
I can't open the app even though I have an active telstra locator subscription. It comes up saying that I don't and then won't let me go any further.
does not update automatically and is very sluggish. Not good when you have purchased it to track your school children to see if they're safe.
Bluetooth will not stay connected on my Samsung S20 and location updates are not quick enough when my dog leaves my home zone. They take roughly 5 minutes to occur
Amazing application ,works well for me .I have been using since 6 months now and able to track my devices and tags with zero error.
This app and the devices are both great and hopeless. My old Nokia 6.0 works fine with them, but it's microphone failed after being dropped, so is useless as a phone. My new Nokia 6.1 just can't connect at all. Can't find the tags even if they are right next to it. Possibly the 6.1 has a newer Bluetooth version and the tags, including the wireless tracker, don't. Unless resolved, the subscription is pointless.
