It just works! Additional comment 2022/03/22. Following a road trip from France to the UK and return. I had supercharger sessions in both countries. The app originally quoted in Euro but now after the UK trip, quotes only in £. I note that the app mentions that it quotes amounts in currency according to the phone language and country. This seems to be a really elementary mistake which other apps and software does not do. My phone is set in British English but my address is in France and not GB!

Not getting better, new schedule does not keep the time you program, it seamed to work on the last version, and I have switched off All alerts, does this version do what the last one didnt, bets are on. Dec 2021 Car update, why have one click when, you have to click and click and click yes 2/10 cannot find the window Wipers, nice

The UI in the car is good and snappy, why can't the app be the same? Constant problems with phone as key not being recognized by the car, which was not the case a year ago. Also, I cannot fathom why the phone app UI designers would use a slider for setting max charging and really don't know what they were thinking when they chose to go with an analog clock to set scheduled departure? Plus when I select the departure time, it reverts back to the default 5+ times before it accepts my time!

In recent months, the app has gotten much worse at waking the car up and allowing me to remotely access functions. Even when the car's connected to wifi or a strong cellular signal, the app often never connects to the car. Also, the 'phone as key' function will also fail when I am at the vehicle. Restarting the phone or toggling Airplane Mode off-on-off usually fixes the problem, but is very inconvenient. This is disappointing because these are new problems in the last 3 years

Should be able to plan long distance routes with superchargers for long distance travel. You can transfer maps from Google easily enough but if the car thinks you can make it further than you think you can or you want to adjust charging stops for convenience you can't in app. Also, should be able to watch sentry videos or live view camaras through the app

App is much improved. Clear interface and less buggy. It would be nice to have a button in the car or app to preheat the battery before arriving at a non-Tesla DC supercharger. These are becoming increasingly common but the car doesn't heat up automatically when they are set as the destination

I've installed the newest version of this app and it no longer works. It opens and then closes. This is happening on two phones. I've uninstalled reinstall restart the phone still the app is not opening. I've emailed customer support and no answer. fix this app so I can drive my car. I have to use my keycard to drive

Decent when it actually works. So far it has been basically unusable in service mode (app either doesn't load or errors out if it does get past the initial loading / black screen), which makes it awfully difficult to communicate with the service team. Responsiveness of the app in general leaves a bit to be wanting, but the issue while in service mode is what really prompted the review.

I've been a long-time Tesla driver and have used this app for nearly 8 years -- it was slow at times but I was otherwise very happy with it. As of version 4.7.1-927, it was too slow to be generally usable, so I cleared local storage and reinstalled. On a fresh installation, the "sign in" button just displays a gray screen with an endlessly spinning throbber. This is something that would have come up in 30 seconds of testing, had Tesla cared enough to do that.

Not impressed with this version (4.7.1-927). The old version had better ability to see detail on the energy graph for production/usage. I was hoping this version would add the ability to zoom into the graph, but instead they took away the units on the Y axis -- less useful. On top of that the graph is even smaller than the previous version. Quit trying to make the app entertaining and cutesie. Make it useful!

Performance is pretty bad on this app. I'm consistently waiting to connect to the car, and sometimes it just won't. I was excited to see the widget added, but it's poorly designed with bad feedback mechanisms, and struggles with the same performance issues with connecting to the car. I use mainly because there's no alternative, but it doesn't do their reputation any favors. I wish they'd focus more on performance as the features are worthless when it can't consistently connect to the cars.

*April 2022 update. app responds much faster with solar. still slow for car Sept 2021 update. App is so slow. Takes forever to issue commands to the car when that's supposed to be improved. Turning climate on often fails when it never did before..... Keyboard overlays in service app so I can't see what I'm typing. Often cannot get into the car until I open the app on the phone despite all settings for sleep being disabled. Solar part is good! Other controls when connected seem to work well.

Poor network connectivity. The app refuses to connect to the car when the phone is on Wi-Fi. Doesn't matter whether the car is awake or sleeping or the car itself is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular. I have to disable Wi-Fi on the phone. A 3rd party tesla app is able to communicate when the phone is on Wi-Fi. I have dozens of smart home devices that communicate just fine. This is bad code in the network protocol used to discover and traverse firewalls.

My powerwall is discharging at the old peak time instead of the new peak time all the while I'm getting charged full peak time rates. Never had problems with the old version switching peak times at a snap. Why can't we just leave well enough alone. Sure wish you could help pay some of this peak time bill until you get the app to do what it's supposed to do when you want it to.

The app works well enough for what it does but it can be slow to operate and trigger commands. My biggest issue is that it defaults to the phone language setting to determine units and pricing. Despite the fact that I live in Norway, everything is in $ for price estimations and plan providers only allow to pick a state, not a country. Also annoyed that it doesn't show service history for the vehicle (used). Easy enough to anonymize, frustrating that Tesla is being so opaque.

This app is mediocre at best. The user has very limited control and almost no options for what you really need. The "Charge from Grid" only works when Tesla remotely turns it on for weather emergencies. Unfortunately, IF they turn it on it will be in the middle of the storm when it's too late to charge. You cannot set the system priority to charging the battery (from solar). It ALWAYS sends a percentage of power out to the grid even when the battery is low. Ridiculous.

It does its job for the most part. My main complaint is when it doesn't connect to the car right away and I'm stuck jiggling the car handle until it finally opens. Not sure what's to blame though - the app, the car, my phone, android, bluetooth, or some combination.

Lost all my custom utility rate plans. Find someone that knows how to build an effing app. Scheduled charging is terrible. You have to set it up every single time you plug in. It keeps defaulting to the first option instead of the 2nd one for begin charging after a certain time. The UX designers need to bring in some experts. The app gets worse with each release. Now the charging indicator doesn't show miles. Ffs it's a trash app.

Be really good to have a real way of people suggesting and then being able to vote on app and car features via the app, at the moment the priorities seem pretty arbitrary. Equally to be able to report bugs with navigation etc. Charge stats are pretty useless as a) not enough decimal places so over time the rounding errors will build up b) if your tariff changes it seems to update all the history as well!

It's frustrating that I can't reset the speed control pin from my phone app. Yeah, I can reset the pin from my car dashboard, but I have to enter my password there, but my password manager can't paste my dumb long secure password to my car dashboard. It's frustrating that setting the speed controls from my dashboard asks for a pin, but only asks once and didn't ask me to confirm the new pin number. Long story short, I had to drive 50 to soccer practice because the kids enabled speed controls
