Text Editor

So far, so good - and I tried 12+ text editors. And this IS a text editor, not a damned sticky notes app. It accesses my Google/MS cloud drives, opens my 720k text file, handles what's in its menus AND the ads are not too in the way. I'd give 5 stars, if not for saving issues: if saving my 720k file to int storage, the app also closes the file, and saving anything to my MS 1Drive gives an error w report option (which doesn't work). But in all cases the file DOES save.

I recommend this if you want a place to gather information or even write a story. I use this as a book of shadows and I love the variety of text color and fonts it has. You can move the text however you want and make the page more esthetic. The only things it needs are a dark/night mode, since I write a lot at night and the white background it's quite disturbing, folders to organize the files and to let us add pictures. Overall it's a really amazing app and very easy to use. Good job guys!

This app was lagging really badly. In that time, I somehow opened up the file browser and accidentally selected an image file. It actually tried opening it, but it obviously couldn't do that so it was stuck forever. I mean forever. It wouldn't let me close it out or anything so the only solution was to delete and reinstall it. How does someone screw up an app that badly? This app isn't new, so if they haven't figured this out yet they probably never will. Yikes. Time to find a new text editor.

Looks flashy and cool at first, relatively full featured, but has serious bug(s). I copied text from another app, Monospace. When the text was long, multiple consecutive newlines were collapsed into just one or two. This happened after I saved the new file in Text Editor. Bugs like that are simply unacceptable in an editor, no matter how flashy it looks. The same text copied into QuickEdit works, but that app also has its own problems! Extraordinary how many broken editor apps out there!

A simple text editor, easy to use. There are two extremely irritating aspects though: no way to remove files from the recent files list, and when a new file is opened, a blank file is saved immediately with name new and format html, giving the user no choice to pick either beforehand. Contains ads, but they aren't displayed too often, can be disabled for a week after watching an ad.

Ohhh, so close to what I want. If I could add doodles and pictures, and save as something better than html or text it would be great. Need a file type that holds the bold, italics etc and that I can move to PC and open in Word or the like to edit there, and move back to the phone and carry on editing it on there. You have the bold, italics etc, and a good search function... I have my doubts I will ever find what I'm looking for. I've tried loads of apps, and none have all the things I want. It seems so simple: text and ability to mix pictures into the text and rescale like with Word, ability to use bold, italics, underline; and save as a decent file type that can handle text and pictures together like word docs.

Nice app. Only problem is with the ads. I don't mind seeing them, but currently the ads are loaded when the program starts, and this is often very slow. Sometimes the ads won't load at all and I have to kill the app and restart it to get it to open. Please load the ads in the background and only show them when they are fully loaded.

I've gone through a lot of text editors & note taking apps - other than occasional ads & no way to permanently get rid of them, I like this one the best. It does just what I need without the addition of things I don't need. The main attractions for me are the abilities to use different fonts, bold, & underline. Thank you, developer!

really wanted to like this app. worked okay until I tried to save to internal memory (not SD); wouldn't save; had to rename file to save it. second thing, one of my text files suddenly no longer allowed me to copy/paste. third, default file save extension is html, not text; and no way to change it other than to select more plus a checkbox each time... annoying.

Basic editor but great.. 2* is because try editing on new phone,save and then find it.

I use it as "My To Do List". Any task I've done I wound change it to different color. So at a glance I know visually which tasks need to be done. I find that any colored text that I copy and paste will not be saved. If you want colored text you have to color it manually. I mean highlight it first then choose the color. You can't simply copy some colored text and paste it. Otherwise it wont be saved. I think it's a bug and need to be fixed.

Lacks the ability to clear "recent documents" list. As is, it retains filenames of recent docs even after the file has been moved or deleted.

Can't give a good review without its being able to save, it comes up with a permission error. Reset the program to new, check documents folder, asks for permission, say yes, still can't save

Good app. I've used it for everything from to-do lists to recipes to 5k+ word short stories. It's migrated with me through several phones. Easy, sleek, but plenty of features if you need them. I'd love to see a dark mode. The "themes" only change the menu color, I'd like to see some darker options for the text space backgrounds so when thoughts strike in the middle of the night I'm not blinding myself trying to type them up.

Good text editor, but I would prefer a no-ads license. Files can be saved in multiple formats. The fullscreen ads are annoying as hell but can be turned off on a weekly basis. To dev: So you're saying that instead of me paying you money for a license, I'm supposed to weekly "turn off ads". Interesting approach.

I wanted a basic RTF text editor to write messages and paste them into Yahoo Mail (since, for some reason, the Android version of YM doesn't include controls for styling text). Unfortunately, this editor doesn't let you select, cut, copy or paste, which limits its usefulness. (Yet it shows ads!) The other Android apps I've used have done these functions in an identical style, so I always assumed they were built into the editor components Android developers used. Has this developer "reinvented the wheel" by writing their own editor from scratch? I can only guess.

This app is very important because of having "Document folder". I appreciate this app very much and I also use this app in my everyday life. My good wish is for the developer forever.

In a few words: Simple, efficient and fun to use. I really like how there is a feature to disable ads for an entire week by simply watching ONE ad. The app won't close any files you had open even when you turn your device off, meaning you can't lose your work so easily! Love the app 5/5 deserved!

Very laggy and very delayed, when I press something, it takes a few seconds for it to register Edit: Yes, I disabled text wrap. This was because the type of document I was working on is easier to work with when text wrap is disabled. Thanks for telling me the issue and I'll boost my score.

Good app but whenever I'm just scrolling the keyboard shows. That's bad and the keyboard should only show when I click on where I want to edit

One of the better text editors that I have found, but why does this default to saving text files as HTML? At least there should be a setting to allow it to default to saving as text. I gave this app a good trial, but I am going to delete it. Also constantly creates new zero byte files for some reason. Just too many annoyances to deal with in what should be a relatively simple app

Used to love this app. But now, and not for the first time, I have to uninstall and reinstall the app. My phone rebooted for some reason, and even though it was still installed, no icon. Had to come here to start it. I am working on a very difficult SWD problem where substrings are getting moved around. I've almost got a handle on this really laggy device, and then this happens again. Probably lost my work! I've been working on this for days.

a really beautiful app. The one thing found a little distracting is the end line indicating the end of the document. it might not be really necessary. besides, if there can be an option to stop the blinking cursor i would find this app perfect... and having a REDO button next to the UNDO button would be very practical as well.

Nice idea and editor but saving files is all messed up. End up with multiple files left open and reopened everytime the application opens with no way to close them. There is confusion here. I can't use this, which is a shame as it's nice otherwise. What I do like is that files are saved in native formats and in the common filesystem.

If you want a great no-frills app that just lets you type in a single font and autosaves with the least number of button presses - then is it. I'm sure they'll add more features over time, but I hope they put those in an Advacned version keep this Basic version for people like me who just want a barebones no frills text editor.

Good & simple. Plenty of color themes, but needs a dark mode. Doesn't render emoji properly.
