Text Free - Free Text + Call

this is a great app. it let's you have a second number if that's what your looking for. it allows you to do wifi calling and messages. to totally understandable that after about a month of using there service for free they require you to to upgrade from free to premium service. it's only $9.99 a month. you can't find cheaper service then that.

Calling and texting work just fine with a great WiFi connection. No call drops, perfect from start to finish. Text messages work well too. You do have minutes you can run out of though & then you have to buy more but I decided to keep it anyway for backup in case my real phone service is out or acting wonky. I also use TextNow which has UNLIMITED minutes & video chat. They are two of the better working apps, in my experience. Good to have options. Good luck!

I absolutely love this app. I have used this phone app for over a year now. It is great for an extra phone line or to change your number. I have a paid subscription for a year and love it. The only downfall is sometimes there are glitches and it doesn't always work perfectly but I've learned to get around the glitches. There is great customer support when you do have issues. I just wish they could make it for use without wifi. Then it would be perfect.

Good call quality on 4G LTE and Wifi plus it's great for texting too with your alternate number. I wish I got more talk time minutes in the beginning, although 40 is a good start. It's been somewhat frustrating trying to "earn" more minutes in the app. I'll keep it for now. 5/13/22 UPDATE: Customer service was very helpful and solved all the issues I had. Great job!

Works well, MOST the time. What's the point in PAYING for a service when it doesn't even work! (I've tried 30 times to get a verification code to come through, and it hasn't come through, and it's been over 24 hours!) but when I make a new account, just to see if it works, it comes right through but says I have to PAY to be able to see it! I ALREADY PAY for it on one account, but it won't come through!

great option when your broke and need a phone. Many places have free wifi, so that's the only thing besides this app that you'll need. There's an option to go add free for a few bucks but I didn't mind the 5 second ads in the free version. So * FREE* means you pay attention to what the algorithm wants to show you.

This. App. Is. Awful. I downloaded it recently bc I'd used it ages ago on my iPod, but clearly there have been no updates since then to optimize app performance. Some issues I've had: people on other line experiencing intense echoes when I place them on speaker... first time they try to call and I pick up, they can't hear me, resulting in lost calls and lost business. Suffice it to say I am uninstalling. I paid for minutes and still get ads ETA: there is no place to change that setting!!!

Needed a secondary text app for my business contacts, so that I didn't have to carry an entire second phone. Text Free has been awesome! Use it both on my phone & desktop at the office. Just wish you could change the contacts on your mobile app to names instead of just the phone number, like you can on the desktop version.

I'll give u the good news first...this app gives u talk & text virtually free, & u get a choice of phone numbers out of their small selection. The bad news... if u leave the app page ur calls will be dropped, every few days when u try 2 open the app it won't open, some of the days when I go into the app store & see it needs 2 be updated it seems 2 be easy enough, other days no update is available and u still can't get into the app from the play store. I am going to reinstall & see what happens.

Not a reliable texting app in my experience. I will text someone and they usually don't receive the messages, and vice versa whenever they attempt to text me.(my mom and I have tested this by texting each other in the same room to prove we're not getting each other's texts) Sometimes I will recieve the messages several hours later. My internet connection is always pretty good, so there's no issue with that to be causing this problem.

1) Calls are clear but always on a speaker w/o the "speaker" mode selected = no privacy in public. 2) Lags/Loads slowly. 3) Ads make the keyboard lag/disappear when ad changes.(keyboard keys freeze/lag when typing during video ads/ad changes) 4) App freezes if left in background/when brought up from background screen stays black for a while. **other than those issues - I'm enjoying the simplicity of the app plus it's free w/o paying a fee**

I don't know how well this app works. Can't tell you how friendly the user interface is. Can't tell you anything about call quality. Or if it's one of those apps that just wants all your info first and then you find out you have "zero minutes" and can't even use it for the reason you downloaded it. Thats because apparently there are no US phone numbers available in the first 12 area codes I tried. So I'm guessing it's buggy if you try to use it But I hope it works well for you.

Probably the worst free texting app. Extremely slow and choppy partially due to the plethora of ads they cram in your throat. Calls drop constantly and they message you annoying app related garbage on a daily basis. They also try to make you pay just to get verification codes. ??? Verification codes are just texts why is it any different?

This app is great if your calls or texts aren't important. I sometimes don't receive texts until the next day. Almost every phone call i make, the other side can't hear me. The app almost always freezes so i either can't hang up, or can't press any of the buttons.

Not receiving calls like it use to. Now all the calls go to voicemail. Please fix. You should also not have to pay a monthly subscription a verification code. It is a text or call option. They have changed this in the latest 2 updates. Not the connection it's the app

Phone can be on DND and you'll still get calls/notifications. I've Uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still sends me all the notifications when someone texts/calls me whilst my phone is on DND. I've even turned off ALL notifications for this app just to test it, and sure enough, I was still able to receive msg/calls. This is annoying and disturbing. I don't think I'll be keeping this app.

I really love this app. It helped me when my phone went out unexpectedly. I was able to have a means of communication. Phone quality is good over a strong WiFi. They also give you free minutes to make calls and incoming calls are free. I'm so grateful that there is something g like this avaliable. I would recommend this app over others.

Pretty good app l, I've been using it for about 6 months now. It works well when your phone is down and you need a go to phone line to contact people and get some things done. It's reliable as long as you have a strong wi Fi connection.

Great app and less intrusive with the video ads then textnow. I had a small issue and it was promptly and correctly answered and I cant say enough kind words to express my thanks for a great and functional with no bugs app. So ill just say you got a customer till the apocalypse starts..considering i was able to choose my own personal 666 prefix..you guys ROCK! Keep it up! **Update as of 5/22..new phone and newer Android system but same reliable service from these guys! At least they still care!

Money is tight for everyone as of 2022 ! So if money's low and you can't afford to pay your phone bill till next paycheck or next month ! This app is a convinenant alternate to allow constant response/communication to continue! However I think more than 60 free minutes of voice calls could / should be increased to 120/180 minutes ! Also the lagging sometimes when sending texts and voice call quality needs slight improvement! 🗣️🗣️OVERALL GREAT APP ! 😃🥳👍🏾

Ads have become OVERWHELMING to the point this app is no longer usable. 3/4 page ads most times with several full page pop ups. Textfree was one of the best, has become one of the worst. UNUSABLE. I'm switching.

Best ever! Having this second number allows me to always be in touch with friends when busy in my phone and the ability to be in touch 24/7. Never had an issue in over a year now! Thank you for all the improvements.

your app freezes every time I make a call. it happens when the automated answers and directs me push 1 or whatever I need to push. this app freezes every time so if you need to call a place of business you won't be able to.

I do not like the aggressive marketing attitude. I subscribed for just one month and removed the subscription from my Google Play service and you guys have been charging me for two consecutive months without my permission. I will call my credit card company to cancel you. I have been with you for a long time but you lost me with this. After a month: I was charged yet again without being given any consent and after being given a feedback. Your app has long since been removed from Google payment.

Started off good then went downhill. I get that I have to watch videos for a whole 1 minute to be added to my time 🙄 but half the time you don't get the minutes for watching the videos. I just watched 3 in a row and received no minutes. The text delay is insane. People won't receive my texts until the next day, pics are near impossible to send and receive, and I'm on a strong internet connection. Based on this I'm not paying b/c there's no guarantee it'll be better just b/c you pay.

Google Voice is better in sound quality during calls, texts are delivered when sent. No ads on Google Voice. Ever. Simple to use and supports multiple devices already logged into your Gmail. I suggest Google Voice.

I come and go from this app only because if I buy a phone card for my phone then I don't use this app but when I lost my phone service again because I didn't buy a phone card I have Wi-Fi so of course I needed texting and calling oh, so when I went to the App store, downloaded it and they still had my information from a year before and now I use this as my primary source for calls and texts. Keep up the good work

Not sure why there needs to be an ad after every message sent. I feel like the ads make the entire app a lot slower and glitch more. Could be a lot better for sure.
