Have been using the app for a few weeks. Mostly for foreign texts which contain lot of various accent marks. The app is amazingly accurate. Virtually 100%. Tried many others. None can match this one. That's why I paid for the premium version. Read a comment that you cannot scan multiple pages, only one at a time. It is true (I still do one at a time) but after each scan you can save it. Takes three quick clicks (tap the save icon, then 'save' and again 'save'). There is a choice to save either as a text or PDF.
This worked well for a long time, albeit with ever increasing adverts. Now saying "Your free trial has ended. Please upgrade to the paid version." Upgrade=£8/$10? No! Upgrading to the free and ad-free Text Fairy app instead. Update: Text Fairy is a bit more complex to use, but works great, free, no ads, no data link needed. Uninstalling Text Scanner, which is now utter junk.
**ADDENDUM** Just for grins, I scanned a printed page, the paper coffee stained, a bit singed, and very crumpled but flattened out. No missed words, spelling about as accurate as the original, and no dropped or missed words. Only had to format the paragraphs. Done. Have only scratched the surface, but from what I've found, I am well pleased! I always look at graphic design first. If it doesn't catch me in that first 2.5 seconds, then I move on. 5 stars says it all!
This app is a true marvel Fast and extremely accurate, even with my scrawling chicken scratch, and basic functions are free with ads that don't interfere with effective use of the app.
Worst app. First of all it doesn't scan the text properly. Above that, it has a limit of scans you can do. After that, you have to buy premium otherwise you can't scan anything and everything you scanned previously will also be inaccessible.
I haven't tried using it on cursive yet but it works very well on digital images. I wish I could figure out how to delete the files I no longer need and I want to add multiple scans to one file.
Not much use if it cannot scan multiple pages to one file. I reread the whole description and didn't see anything stating this would only scan one page to one file. Couldn't find it in the settings. Tried all the icons on the screen. Tried just scanning another page. It just overwrote the first one.
This used to be free with ads ... which i could live with. Now it only has a number of free scans before the "trial" ends. Very disappointing. Time to look for another OCR scanner
The scanner is better than average but the stupid ads are so frustrating that I'm unistalling the app immediately. They pop up after every scan and it's hardly conducive to work.
Highly Accurate & Quite easy to use. It's a no brainer, if you are looking for image to text converter. Never disappoints!
I am amazed by how fast and accurate this app is...nearly 100% even on my awful cursive. It's miraculous! I am a teacher, I write a lot, and I prefer to write on paper instead of typing. This app will be so helpful. It also does great on scanning and digitizing print, as in books and magazines. Good job, developers! Thank you.
A superb app for scanning text. It works everywhere. Some apps can't detect words very accurately, especially if they're a bit blurry or when parts of the picture aren't clear. But this app is definitely an exception. And it's one of the best
Really nice/useful app, would like to see a lesser quality version with an unlimited use counter. Just a way around the paywall to use after so many uses, because without premium, there is only a limited amount of times you can use this.
Free trial only. Text Fairy is the best OCR. I tried these ones: Screen OCR, Text Scanner [OCR]– this one, and vFlat. Adobe Scan says it does OCR. But there is no way to direct it to do OCR.
Great help This app has saved me loads of time and is working perfect. Only downside is that if you want to scam more pages, then you can't put them in one file. They'll be saved separate. Or perhaps I don't know how to do it yet!! 🤔🙄 Otherwise just scam and go even in the free version. Good job!
As a first time user, I honestly agree that this was what I looked for for sometime now. However, the only challenge is the need for internet connectivity: if it were an online app, I would give it 5 🌟
Outstanding So far. can you find away to transfer scanned text to PCs either windows 🪟 or Mac, it would be great.
Great app. Does what it does wonderfully. My son sent me a 9 page handwritten letter that he needed typed. I was dreading it and decided to use this app. It more than exceeded my expectations. Love it and would recommend. Saved me a lot of time.
Its very ok for a free app. The text read accuracy is not the best ( for which I didnt gave 5*), but as I said its free. I recomend this app if you need only from time to time. For intense use, probably not the best
Very fast. 95% accuracy. Please work on "1, I, I, l, o, O, and 0". Other than that all good.
This app does a great job - I only wish that it didn't break the text up by line to match how it appears in the image. When I'm scanning paragraphs, it's annoying to have to go through the text and remove all of the unnecessary line breaks that get added in.
It works good for the desired assignments but it will be better for all of us if it is free for lifetime as other OCR applications are free.
I bought this premium version (lifelong), but this app charge me for additional fee every year secretly. I can not contact the company.. please refund!!
SCAM! Utter and complete shameless scam, they let you use the app for a while then block you from using it after the "trial" ends and won't let you use it anymore without paying an earful. Despicable conduct I'm infuriated.
No offline scan. I did not ask for automatic loading of thumbnail of ALL my folders. Cannot rotate file. No file explorer. Each of these costed u 1 star. Therefore, sayonara
I like this app.because, The text Scanner is best to me. I want to invite to text Scanner application creator. please makes image scanner and app creator apps. How can I create such this app. Please help me my brother.
I found that the text recognition is good. The issue I found is that it doesn't write separators like . or : or - (and maybe others which I didn't test) and that it often groups together the words before the separators. For instance, with the dialogue: T. How are you? S. Fine thank you. You get the : T S How are you ? Fine thank you. In a long text, the result is annoying, you need to edit it before printing for instance. Also, it doesn't pick up more than 1 language in a multilingual text.
