Textra SMS

Out of all the other texting apps I've downloaded this is for sure my favorite one. I love that you can customize everything and there's no ads. it's quick and easy to figure out all the settings. I've had an iPhone for about 10 years now and just got a galaxy... didn't know which texting app to download. I tried them all... and once I tried textra I won't ever use another!

I've tried dozens of SMS/MMS apps but I kept coming back to this one. I've enjoyed Textra for about a year now. It's fast, dependable, flexible and offers beautiful colors and creative options to soothe the savage beast in you. 4 stars only because stickers,gifs, etc won't go through plus I wish there were a way to access all those fun things, from different sources, easily. That would make it 5 stars for sure 👍

Constantly running into issues on pro version of sending and receiving text. At least a few times a week I get unable to receive text. It was solid until a year or so back when I sent my first response. Seems that others are having the same issue. Would hate to move to another app, but this is looking more realistic.

I'm a real person who doesn't write a ton of reviews, but I legitimately can't recommend Textra enough. It has everything you could possibly want in a slick customizable text message app. I love the look and feel of the interface and all of the really smart & useable options. Timed texts are an especially game-changing tool. I send myself future reminders all the time, easier than goog assist. This right here is what 3rd party apps are all about. This is why you have an Android phone. Get Textra

Other than customization, the best feature is the ability to scroll back to specific dates. I just updated the app to see if my problem would be fixed, but no luck. I cannot save, view, or forward pictures, if I don't do so immediately. I clicked on a photo that was sent less than 12 hrs ago, and the screen turns black. Image won't load.

Still using Textra 2 phones and several years later. Still happy with it. One of the few apps that keeps up with updates but doesn't ruin it . I tried the app that came with the phone and it Said too many unsent mms so I couldn't send any more. But where were they so I could delete them? So I was forced to try a new app. Textra is so much better that I immediately erased both old apps. It has no problems and more features. Works flawlessly every time.

Good app with solid customization, but missing some key features. The inability to archive messages is a major detractor. Additionally, the lack of in-browser messaging means Google Messages has a solid edge on Textra. The major plus here is the customization, but it's sort of topical; I wasn't able to achieve the minimalist aesthetic I wanted.

I use Textra because I can personalize my contacts by color and notifications. Being able to set a timer to halt a text before sending has saved many texts of going out with spelling errors and faux pas. Texting app that came with phone sends GIFs as soon as you touch them. Textra doesn't send until chose to hit send. I liked it so much that I was willing to pay for the app to get rid of the ads.

I've had this app for years (Pro Version) and have enjoyed it's many customization and theme options. So much so that I've installed it for my kids as well. As of late my notifications seem to be inaccurate. I'm not receiving them at all on my lock screen despite my settings being set so I should. There are times I have several messages and only know when I open the text app at random. Lastly, I'd like to suggest an added feature: fontt styles. Basically the option to use Italics and BOLD.

I absolutely love Textra. I think it's one of the best text messaging app out there. But since the latest update, receiving pictures message haven't been coming through smoothly. For example when I'm home I turn off mobile data and rely on WiFi, before the update if someone sends me a picture message I would automatically get a message from Textra stating to turn on my mobile data to download the picture which I don't mind, at least I knew. But now Textra doesn't do that anymore. Please fix 🙏

For some reason, I'm experiencing big delays in receiving MMS messages with Textra. I've tried all the fixes listed, without success. Since I'm a paid user, I assumed I would get a response to emails I've sent (one two weeks ago) and another about one week ago, but I have not received any response. Is there no solution to this problem? If there was a way to back up my current settings, I would uninstall and then reinstall. This was a question posted in one of my emails. Any response would help.

I love this SMS app b/c it's competent compared to Google's/Samsung's, but let's me turn off the send/receiver identification bubbles (usually initials) by the text, IMO annoying because they waste screen space and don't add useful information (sender left, receiver right). I'm taking off a star because I have to switch SMS apps every time I need to send a video, which isn't often, but has been missing for years while other less-core features are added.

I have really enjoyed Textra. I like the feature where I can schedule a text to go out at a later time, especially since I am an early morning person. I have had something start happening recently that is only mildly annoying. After I have read a text, it often shows up later as unread. Not a big deal, just annoying.

I am a new user of this app and already finding it fantastic with customization and relevance. Subtraction from its high-rating customization is the limitation in the screen color (only two colors - light and dark/black). Therefore, for more attraction and satisfying user experience, developers should please add more color and image options (including user's preferred image) for screen colour. Thanks for good work.

I've been using this app for several years and love it. Never had any issues and they are always improving. Update: 3 years later they can't find my payment for ad free service. After having to install the app on a new phone the ads were back. So it says NEVER HAVE ADS AGAIN is untrue. It's not my fault Google is not showing that I paid all of a sudden. I even looked at the old phone Textra app before doing the factory reset and I had the Ribbon that said PRO USER.....

Incredibly customizable. Change colors of each person in every conversation, use custom text tones for different people, change notification and home screen icon color, and even change which emojis you use!!!! (twitter supremacy, obviously.) ALSO you can SCHEDULE A TEXT. Fantastic for reminders, and I use this feature multiple times a week. Amazing app that I've been using for years. Keep it up Textra team.

Its a decent alternative texting app. Brings nothing new to the table really and it has some issues + ads. I've had problems with sending videos, otherwise it's fairly run of the mill. The only real extra thing I've noticed is that if you text someone who uses an iPhone you do actually see their text reactions.

I love the app and have been using it for years. However, I've been noticing some contacts I do not receive any notifications for at all. I only see the new messages only when opening the app itself. I've tried clearing the cache and even uninstalling and reinstalling without any luck. What's going on textra?!

This is a great text app, but why I'm thinking of switching to another one is for one major reason. You can't text from other devices. And yes it is available. Other texting apps have that option. Textra has been my texting app for years and it's a great app. But it's time for them to catch up with other apps where you can text from other devices. I sent an email telling them this and their response was horrible. It was obvious they couldn't care less of my opinion.

I've used textra for a few years now (pro user), and during that time it has been a great texting option. I have especially loved how flexible the settings are-- BUT. I am just now transferring to a new phone for the first time in a while, and have learned that I can't backup all of those personal settings and customizations. Meaning I will have to redo all of them in order to continue enjoying the app. So frustrating to be missing such a very basic feature in 2022...

Great app!!! So much more customizable that the native Samsung message app. There is nothing you can't do with it. I needed to be able to set up repeat notifications from an important contact (work pager). Textra made it so easy. Highly recommend. It also plays well with the native app. You can use either and set one of the notifications to off so you only get notified by one app.

I like the customization but I often experience issues sending pictures. Often I do not receive texts and this is becoming more frequent. I'm very close to trying another app. Update - this issue was solved by getting a new phone. It wasn't the app. I really like it. One update I do not care for is when I click a link there's a pop-up asking what app I want to open. It should just know that.

I LOVE this texting app. Out of the 4 I've tried, it's the most customizable, user-friendly, and pleasant to look at. Even the ads for free version are small and not annoying. But! There is no smartwatch integration yet, so I have to (begrudgingly) use a different app. Please add this feature, Textra! I will happily pay more!

After using this app for about a week , I do enjoy and have written a review before about it, absolutely love it BUT after a week , the app seems to have trouble sending video sms... It always fails.. After multiple attempts to send it will eventually go but that's annoying. At the 14 day mark I will get the full version because all the other features are great and I do enjoy all other aspects of it. Just be aware that video sms is hit or miss at best.

My Moto G Power default text messaging app started acting weird, it drove me crazy. So I switched to Textra, which is VERY INTELLIGENT. One example: in the Moto G to delete messages, you select them with a tap, including multiple messages, then hit delete. Only problem is, if you tap just a bit the wrong way, you lose all the work you have done (or so I experienced). With Textra, you can select ALL of the messages and then undelete the ones you want to keep (which is what I really wanted).

Great SMS app. my only gripe is that when I want to share a site or picture with someone from a different app, I don't get a list of my most recently used groups. I get a list of my favorites, but I'd like it to present me with groups I've previously sent messages to. My work around is just to copy and paste the link to the group by first just going to my recently texted list and pasting after selecting the group. Other than that, a fantastic app.
