Keeping on top of your spend is easy; see the date, time and cost of your journeys from the last 8 weeks.

Customers who have not already added their contactless card to an online account can do so at contactless.tfl.gov.uk.

The TfL Oyster and contactless app will request access to your camera. This is so that you can scan your payment card. We will never store the scanned pictures. Alternatively you can enter the card details manually.

You need a VPN to access the app from outside the UK and an existing TFL account. It works ok, it does what it's supposed to do. However the in app tube map is from 2019, and there's not much else you can other then view stuff.

Rubbish. Told me that I had a first-generation card so it does not work with the app. No information on what to do next, no offer to send me a new card, just says go to website for refund. Useless. It's still broken. topped up my NEW card using cash at newsagent, and when I look on the app 1hour later, it still not registered the top-up. Why does it take so-long? TFL has had years to make this app work and they cant.

Sometimes have difficulty with topup and end up getting charged 2 or 3 times without being successful. Being hounded by the app if your balance is below £10. Travel history gets lost. Seems the only going for it is the topping up if it works and the balance.

Not a good app at all! Can't set a default card, remove cards you dont want to use anymore (despite removing them from the website they dont come out or get added in this app). Worse for UEX, you cant even use your finger print to get in?! It asks for your password always at the wrong time, not really helpful when you are getting on a bus and there is a queue!

Super easy, intuitive and practical to use. No more kiosks. Just top up when you need on your mobile.

Good app. Was long overdue when it landed. Only gripe is that you can't use it to request refunds for tap in/out issues and delayed journeys.

App fails to show journey history for my contactless card (AMEX). I only use it as a shortcut to the journey planner. Would avoid, unless you want a shortcut to the TFL website.

Scam. Started the day with £6.60 credited. After one trip costing £1.70 and one trip costing £3.10 I now have -£6 balance (negative). And a travel history showing trips were made while I was 10000km away. Giving these crooks access to your bank account would be foolhardy in the extreme.

I love it can be topped up anywhere, but I can't see the history of the uses because are getting deleted constantly. Could you please kindly fix it, I will update to 5 stars. Thank you for your great work!

It is a convenient way for topping up, the only flaw is that payment is not recognize to the card immediately it is done. It takes about 10 to 30 minutes. This deficiency is a major setback that TFL needs to address.

Very good and convenient am enjoying the app. Can there be a free replacement of old cards to the new cards which enable me to also add them online for me top up using the app.

Dav. W. May 15, 2022

OK. Generally speaking simple is good. But this app is lacking some simple functions, such as remove old/expired cards.

Dee. F. Apr 16, 2022

I rated it 4* because after a while, it will tell me my password is incorrect (when it is!) And I have to keep re-setting it! I'm running out of passwords to be honest. Whatever the bug is, please fix it - thanks!

Never leave home without my Oyster. App easy to use...just allow at least 30 mins for transaction to go through prior to making your journey though.

Vin. S. Apr 20, 2022

Journey history doesn't load sometimes. Tube Maps in the app are not accurate and up-to-date.

Mus. E. Apr 30, 2022

Why topping-up takes ages to be executed? People sometimes top up urgently when there is no nearby station, and the oyster card needs to be topped up immediately. It's a G5 era, make use of it.

Meh. Data collection. Nothing more. Until this app becomes a subsitute for an Oyster Card its just a waste of TFL users money. Dont you love fare price rises to pay for junk like this?

Ell. M. Apr 22, 2022

Fast and convenient. I am able to do it anywhere. Downside is I have to wait 30 mins before being able to use it, which is a bummer.

Efficient app Very easy to check your balance, top up and connect your contactless card to your account remotely.

No way to remove card details. The top up features are confusing. They also won't process my card payments.

Dar. C. May 17, 2022

The app works well for me. I can check my balance easily and you up without the need of finding a local shop.

And. s. Apr 7, 2022

Can no longer add new payment cards, taking payment screen times out without taking a payment so unable to top up balance, please fix. Samsung galaxy S20 ultra

Noe. L. Mar 29, 2022

Very helpful app, avoids going to a shop to top up and can check the balance.

Rus. Feb 6, 2022

App doesn't even load. Stuck on splash screen. All I get is the option to share analytics, and neither option goes anywhere. The app just hangs on a splash screen. I'm a developer so I'm not using it wrong. I've even cleared all the app data and cache and tried again, still just the single analytics question and never ending loading splash screen.

And. W. May 21, 2022

TFL could do more for an app thats supposed to show your spend I find its always behind. Also you cant remove expired cards

Lay. Apr 22, 2022

Good, but with the minimum was £5 instead of £10 to save the inconvenience which is why I downloded this app in the 1st place

It is convenient when it works. But, it has some sort of problem 25% of the time. Problems include signing you out and then not recognising your correct password. Taking a long time to add payment and dropping it at the last minute. It is not travel app you can depend on. In a world where apps have become really dependable, this app seems exceptionally unreliable. When it comes to payment apps, reliability is not optional.
