TG4 is the National Irish language Public Service TV Broadcaster, providing Irish language content to audiences in Ireland on all platforms and worldwide on our player.
This App allows you to view our channel LIVE or to catch up on content for 35 days after broadcast, subject to the rights agreements in place
Most programmes carry optional English language subtitles and some offer Irish language subtitles, when available.
Many of our programmes are available worldwide, but rights restrictions can mean that some content is accessible only to users in Ireland only.
There is a wide range of programme genres available, including Documentaries, Music, Sport, Entertainment, Drama and Kids content.
The TG4 App is available for Android versions 5.0 Lollipop and above.

Android TV experience was subpar, primarily issues with navigation, exploring content and enabling subtitles. Downloading apk build for mobile through apkcombo and sideloading it on the TV resolved the issue. Mobile application build seems to be working fin fine on Android TV, starting, control and everything. So, if app developers are reading these reviews - Fix Android TV build, pretty pls. As for the mobile app, no complaints there, seems to be doing the job just fine.
Anyone with issues of rights restrictions, or basketball showing instead of GAA Beo: Uninstal the app, restart your device. Make sure location is set to Ireland on your device. Instal app again and click yes when it asks if you want to allow location. Won't work for some programmes if location is outside Ireland. This is a great app.
When I try to stream episodes it crashes more often than not so the download option is great but there is no subtitles option when you're watching downloaded videos so I miss a fair bit of what's going on sometimes. My Irish is getting better but subtitles would definitely help.
Great content, terrible terrible application. Doesn't resume and doesn't mark already watched videos, skipping forward is a nightmare and the search function is an absolute toilet.
Generally fix the controls, this app has the image of giving control but when used results in random playback, control should be given to users or take controls interface away, it fails in the app. Play from start button, often doesn't play from start. Give control over time please, like God, allow people to slide through time playback. That would be great 👍
Ohh dear. I thought it might be the case that it isn't really as bad as it's made out to be but unfortunately, it's absolute junk. Anything longer than a few minutes won't play and if it does play, there is no Chrome cast option. To think we pay a TV licence for this?
This is an amazing app as it lets you watch a huge variety of its stations output. You can watch TV Live & even download your favourite programme, film, & yes, documentary's. That you can see as & when you later.
Ireland's Best TV Player. I absolutely love it, very few ads and the content streams seamlessly. Plus it has the Chromecast feature. RTÉ & Virgin Media please take note on how to develop a DECENT player!!
Android tv subtitles broken. They only display the link to the sub file...also cannot cast with this app, how can a apple device cast to a Chromecast, but you don't set up the Android app to be able to so?!
This is a really good & reliable player. The picture & sound quality are great. I would recommend using this app to all of my family & friends.
Absolute shite!! Won't let view because it has geolocation locked when I live in the country.. have all locations on and through the app to allow the permissions and still nothing
I'm in Ireland, location is turned on in my phone, and I can't use live TV in this app because "the program is not available in my region". Farsical.
Works great! Sometimes English subtitles don't work though (Ros na Rún) aside from that, great app and shows.
I enjoy watching the content in the app and like the design of it but im giving 3 stars because i cannot search for anything due to the function being broken and not displaying anything . please fix this soon
I live in the Republic of Ireland and when I try and watch TG4 live in the app I get the following error "due to rights restrictions this program is not available in your region"....if it isn't available in Ireland where is it available!!!
Rubbish. Installed it, kept crashing. Unlnstalled it. Reinstalled it. Continued to crash. Complete and utter rubbish
Will not allow live viewing in Ireland, says it isn't available in your region??? Any update on why this is happening ??? Useless.
A great player and you can cast it which is the most important. Just like the channel a jewel.
it would be great if this app had a cast feature, so I could cast it to TV for example when I wanted to watch something
App won't fullscreen properly on fire stick. Tried website also and apparently I'm not in the correct region??
Chromecasting to tv of live TV is very poor almost unwatchable. This day and age its not good enough lads

Can only cast to Chrome cast. Unacceptable really in this day and age.
One of the best apps for Irish television..I love watching 1916 Seachtar na Càsca along with all the other documentaries on irish history Five stars 🌟 out of five.

Great to be able to catch up on some excellent programming
Frustrating. Searches don't show all results. For example, searching for Ros na Rún season 22 or 23 only shows the second half of the season. Also buggy. If you pause and the screen shuts down, the app crashes and you have to search again for the show you were watching. I love the closed captioning, but the app overall needs some work.
