Not great. Works up to a point but if you need any real information the page just keeps loading without ever giving you the answer. eg. If you'd like to see where your trains stops, that page will never load. If you want to see flight information, also no luck. I cant understand why your tech team are unable to fix this "glitch" for the last 3 years.

Terrible experience with the app. It is slow, with serious lags. Payments are just sometimes not going through resulting with me taping nervously 10 times on paying button hoping that it goes through once and don't charge me for the times it failed... No e-ticket options for day return. What is the point of selling tickets with an app if at the end it takes me 3 times the time it would take me at the station and finally I still have to queue to collect at the machines?

I think it's OK although it's bizarrely difficult, compared to all other apps, to paste in username and password from a password manager. For those of us with a choice of London stations, it would be nice if we didn't have to query journeys to/from each station separately. But even on the national rail Web site you can't specify two or three alternative London stations.

Terrible app. It is pointless. They should really hire a product team and some UX. I've installed and got the card as I've thought that I would save time but instead it takes longer. Easier to use the OLD paper tickets until when they manage to update they technology. Just to clarify, 5 years ago I've used to get automatic delays compensation from my commuting from Kingston to Waterloo. No app needed... I didn't have to click buttons and ever less getting s check with the compensation !!!!!

If you need to update your journey, for example, if your chosen train isn't running the response isn't fast enough! It's clearly trying to load far to much data for a simple request so that needs fixing especially when all passengers using that service need the same information at the same time! This app cannot answer a simple question such as what are the off-peak times for my journey? You have to go though a guessing game of trying to purchase a ticket to get that simple peice of info.

Absolutely non-functional. Didn't achieve a single thing I wanted, most obviously that in the etickets section, it is possible to see which tickets you have but not the QR code up unusably without downloading the PDF. Also, the screen rotates a lot, seemingly at random. It's been a long time since I've seen an app this bad.

Used to work perfectly, now useless at getting arrival and departure times at set stations. Thought it was the remote end but clearly not as National Rail app pulls this information fine. Southeastern app is equally as useless as well but that's pretty much an identical app. with different look. Whatever has been done to make this app useless needs to be reversed or it needs fixing.

Absolutely atrocious. Frequently doesn't know that a line is not in service. Shows lines with interchanges in the same way as direct lines. Often loads infinitely for station info until apps is manually restarted. About as useful as a picture of a station's trains. Will not accommodate thameslinks random service cancellations so completely useless.

Still not working... It's unbelievable that this app is still not working after so many years. When it came out it had obviously serious issues but I thought these were something that will be fixed in time... BUT NO! It is still a train app that doesn't allow you to check train times... Unbelievable.. after all these years. Total shambles.

App doesn't work properly. Purchased ticket online and was not able to load on to smartcard. Happened to me loads of time. I have given up and started buying it from station. Not reliable at all. I do not have a choice if I have commutte on Thameslink which is a pity.

This app is absolutely hopeless. I must have tried about half a dozen times over as many months to buy train tickets through the app, and it hasn't worked once. Every time I have tried I have had to buy them through the website, making the app redundant.

Several very irritating bugs. It remains on in the background for no real reason, information has a tendency to be inaccurate and it will often give me train times for incredibly convoluted routes. For example, I will be given a 2-hour-long route for a journey that is literally three stops on one route.

Crashes often. When it doesn't, then the times for your selected stations is useful (hence the single *). Slow to load information, when you're looking for information outside the normal stations, its easier and quicker to go via google to get more accurate information.

This app is truly awful- you have to go through a laborious process to connect tickets bought VIA THE APP to get them in your wallet (why?!) And then you can't even open the wallet without it crashing repeatedly, denying access. Thank god they also email you a PDF/QR code but even that was super glitchy. You'd think with the constant fare price hikes they could have an app that can manage the basics!! Trainline it is in future!

App crashes every time I try to view train tickets in its 'wallet'. If you want to use it to buy tickets online and stay paperless, it is worse than useless - Thameslink take your money but you don't have a ticket to show for it. Workaround - you can download a pdf of the ticket outside the app (so still 1* for the app) but that won't open the station barriers. It's more useless if you want to try to buy a ticket for a train that departs soon. It won't even sell you one. It's a battery hog, too.

frequently does not update information in a timely fashion. Often crashes and needs to be uninstalled/reinstalled despite apparent bug fix in January. Information messages typically not relevant to my journeys and sometimes duplicated. Not readily customizable (either on or off) and reappear if you reopen the app.

One of the worst Apps EVER!! Not had the misfortune of needing to use this App since March 2020...it was dreadful then, and two years later nothing has changed!! This is shambolic and amateurish, loops, navigation off the page, failed payment, scrolling is horrible... Need I go on...Sort yourselves out Thameslink!!😡

Haz. F. Mar 6, 2019

I can't get rid of old "messages" at the top of the app. Been seeing the same ones for a few weeks. If I clear them they just come back again when the app refreshes. Just tried reinstalling the app and now I have a different set of messages from early Feb that also won't clear....

Probably one of the worst apps I've ever had. The whole app except some menus are just an embed to the website which is also super buggy. Home screen is slow and often fails to load data at all which can only be fixed by restarting the app. Absolutely awful.

Owe. Oct 4, 2021

The NFC key card loading part of the app fails 95% of the time. When scanning my key card it will say "sorry failed to find your keycard" then I can scan a second time and it will find my card but it will not show any of my purchased tickets in order for me to load them. Terrible app. Needs serious bug fixing for it to even be usable.

Joh. A. K. Sep 9, 2019

The biggest fault, and the reason why i uninstalled it, is that it consumes too much battery, especially while in the background. Otherwise the app has potential to be useful. At the moment it seems you need to order a card which will stand in for your ticket. I hope that in the future this step will not be necessary and you will be able to use your mobile phone as the ticket itself

edd. y. Jan 31, 2019

yr like, oh, i keep seeing ads for the key smartcard thing that looks helpful! and then u get it and the app literally doesn't have the option to buy the kind of tickets you need so let me ask you Qu'est-ce Que La Pointe De This (also just casually doesn't show all the available trains for a journey like guess ill use trainline at least they're mediocre at best as opposed to this unusable app)

Chr. M. Jan 24, 2020

Painfully slow, you could have minutes until the train arrives and be trying to find out if it is the fastest service and all you see is a blank screen with a spinner. Also, train times on the journey planner sometimes differ from the advertised trains at the station you are at.
