I enjoy the simple layout and continuity of the app for reading. A possible upgrade to think of in the future is a version that contains the original scripts with the common interpretations alongside the truest translation as simple notations for the trickier bits would be amazing. I read a version of "Utopia" by Thomas More with something similar and it made a world of difference for me. CHEERS
Ok, the notifications were a bit much to start with. But it has really grown on me, very much positive brainwashing. Especially when it repeats. It gets so that these principles get drilled into your head, overlaying everyone's speech, imprinting on every thought... think I might take a break :D Edit: I know I can switch off the notifications, I'm leaving them on purpose ;) Now my only issue is that I can't see the full quote and clicking on it doesn't bring me to the right page.
These guys have made a pretty decent attempt at presenting the material in daily prompts, audio book and read only ability as well. What is significant about this is I've started remembering far more of it and in turn seeing it's principles at work in real life situations in real time. Thought that only came through structured study. I my assessment, they've achieved some for me that I never attained for myself by merely owning the text, but never owning the ideas!
I really like the book and the app, as the lessons and tactics are applicable to day to day life. I personally found it can improve your ability to think clearly and respond instead of react, to difficult, surprising, and devastating situations that occur in life. Thank you for this app.
Good Audiobooks and such!. One thing... I love the daily quote in the notifications area and not sure whether you coded it to dissapear after you touch it but its kinda bitta chinese philosophy there doing not doing, Lao Tzu - Tought me not to impulsively touch the quote, otherwise it would vanish. But... it does get cut off in the dropdown notifications. Have to rotate screen to see full quote Pen and sword.
I have always wanted to read this book.. so far it's amazing .. I'm listening to the audio book part now then I'm going to read it .. ads aren't a problem either .. thank you for this app and just throwing an idea out there but could you do the goosebumps series I would love for my kids to hear and read them .. great job with the app.. 5☆s..
Great app. It does precisely what it is expected from it. I'm rating it 3 stars due to two reasons: 1. Notifications cannot be personalized. That is a pity, because it is one of the most attractive functions of the app. 2. The design of the app is quite raw. Reading the book on it can be tough. Aside from these two aspects, the app is nice. Being a free app, we can barely ask for more.
Audio & e-reader are great. The daily text needs some work. They are different every day. When I click on the notification to read it, it takes me to the beginning of that chapter. Then I scroll down to find the text of the day.
this app does exactly what you want. learn the art of war by reading or listening. minus 1 star because the daily quote does not completely display in notifications. when I click on it, I am directed to the app home page. I would like to read the full daily quote without needing to search the chapters
I have listened through it 5 or 6 times now and always hear something I missed the time before. I enjoy the new advancement that sends a passage every day for you to read and think about. philosophy side is fantastic as well as tactics. Awesome app .
well it is more than what expected.it is inspiring realistic to some aspects.the content of the book is magnificent. the app in general is useful, the notifications are a constant reminder of the task at hand...
Very good. This is a great app & an easy way to get familiar with 1 of the world's most important texts. My only recommendation is to add the ability to share certain sections & quotes.
This is a very thoughtful app that is very well done. There are minor UX issues transitioning through ads getting to the content. This is a SOLID four, compared to an arbitrary five. Great job guys.
fantastic and very well planned out. While i LOVE the notifications, i wish when they came up with their little short sentence, it took me to the part in the book, so i could read more.
Actually like/not bothered by the daily notification highlight it sends! Wish when I hit the notification, app would open to only that specific quote but that is what photo editing exists for, so only a first world problem.
It's great. I can play it whilst my screen is off. And also I can play the audio and read the words at the same time. Awesome. And the readers are not too slow, not too fast...just right.
I really like a lot, I would say I love it except for I haven't spent the money to get the full versionyet!. But so far... everything in the free version that I'm using now consolidates his words; philosophy for my review, I really like. Hope should to upgrade someday.
Not quite adjusted to the notifications, and it is missing my favorite audio reader. Aside from that(changes from a previous version), amazing app.
I downloaded this app about a year ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. Easy enough to just read a few passages to help pass the time, ads are fairly unobtrusive too.
The way the content is represented is very clear and concise. The audio versions add a lot to the whole experience. Glad I got the app/book.
I've attempted to read The Art of War many times. This is the only version (an app at that) that made it simple and understandable. Wonderful, ! Although it offers a Pro version it is not necessary. However I enjoyed it so much I donated to the devs.
This is completely awesome! The only reason i gave it 4 stars is because the vibe and tone. Or out of respect, it should be rerecorded with a man and woman from their culture with their native accent. The voice, tone, speed, and people speaking just seem like it doesnt fit to me, but thats only my opinion.
this app for some unknown reason keeps sending pointless notifications every day to my updated 26/06/2019.i have not granted notification access for this app and i cannot see a way of disabling it in your app.when i downloaded this book i didn't expect to get constant notifications saying e.g this is chapter 1 or 2 or 3. and so on.thats why i said they were pointless and everyday really!
I like the occasional notifications, and the developer seems to be quite responsive. It would be great if tappinf a notification could take you to the chapter and section where the quote comes from, though. Otherwise, it's a good book to have as an occasional reference, but it's not much more than that.
