Controls are easy to use with my xbox one controller. No clue about touch since I havent bothered to use them. The game is constantly funny, and sure to be worth every cent. No doubt I'll be playing this through multiple times, if only for the song in the bar at the beginning. Graphics seem like they could be a little better, but that may just be my tablet. Its fairly low end, and not very recent. I'll update on that when I upgrade next year.
Game is excellent with some hilarious dialouge. The only negative are the few bugs I encountered where an npc or enemy will glitch out. One such case is in the Highland Park where Mell gets stuck and doesn't open the magic gates. All these can be fixed by saving and restarting the game, but it causes a lot of backtracking. Other than that, this game is very good and worth the price.
Look, this game has a lot more to it than a lot of Android / mobile games. The songs are entertaining, the dialog humorous, controls are decent. But... They do not tell you that if you have your cloud sync saves on (save games to Google drive), and you play offline for whatever reason (in my case, FIVE HOURS of progress), and then regain internet, that you're cloud save will likely overwrite your current save. You'll lose everything, and you can't get it back. It's not worth playing that again.
I gave this a lower rating initially because I encountered several game stopping bugs, storyline videos which wouldn't play and worst of all, the autosave "feature" which bugged out and reverted to a 3 day previous save state it had somehow "recovered" and overwritten my current one with. Disabling autosave may save your sanity, since it then lets you use multiple save slots (although management of these is sparse on options). With that said, there's a lot of gameplay to be had for a few quid .
So I beat the game and oh come on! You don't even let us save before the final choice? We have to slog up through 12 floors AGAIN to see the different endings? Overall this has been a fun yet frustrating experience. There are lots of bugs too. I had a ton of fun, but this game is pretty flawed in design and functionality.
The auto-aim would fire at enemies while other times it fires at the wall or barrels while an enemy is next to you. I've tried to manually aim but would still fire at a wall instead. Once or twice the dialogue scenes would get stuck and you are forced to skip it. It seems like the game would change your talent from arrow storm I was using to dog trainer (1st talent on the list). Gave up trying to play the other two games. Loved the game, story and banter when it worked as expected.
Had nothing but good experiences. Switched phones and the great staff gave me free credits to regain some items that didn't carry with my account. Note that I didn't ask them to do this, they just did because they're great people. Fun and hilarious game with great voice acting. Worth it!
Like a rewind to the good old days. Just started playing and so far quite quirky and funny. Action is there and great controls. Overall will need to play this more to give a solid review. Not sure if its possible to add a bigger resolution for bigger phone screens as its cut off on the one side.
You can tell that the game is old, because it has the "defeat a lot of enemies in a section that is way too long" gameplay, which gets boring after some time. Mainly because the combat isn't very difficult and pretty straight forward. Graphics wise the game is really good for a 2004 mobile game. The story is meh, but thats mainly because it doesn't take itself serious, which is not a bad thing, makes it pretty funny. I recommend playing through it at least once.
So far I'm 1 hr in and having an awesome time playing this, I never got to play the ps2 version and never thought I'd ever be playing it on a handheld device with touch controls (IMO the controls are okay)it works pretty good and the graphics are good too IMO. I will give a full review when I'm competed the game, btw you can play this offline.
The amount of glitches makes this game not with it. Don't get me wrong; it would be a fun game if the glitches didn't keep me from progressing. Don't waste your time; the developers aren't even trying to fix the problems. I know this because multiple people have reported the issues, and they still stand.
Missed this one on XBOX, but so glad I got it here. · Touch controls are better than KOTOR, Jade Empire, and all the GTA games. (Plus you can customize them a bit) & there's an option for a games of you have one. · Gameplay is like a simple & fun version of Baldur's Gate (though the story & dialogue is much funnier) · Graphics are great. It's a PS2/XB era title, so it may not look as good as modern mobile, but it more than makes up for that with the level of options available (tweak it to your phone's performance) Basically, look... If you've ever searched the Play Store forever looking for a decent RPG that wasn't a soulless, sterile cash-grab hiding behind shiny visuals (hey Gameloft!) you can stop here, because this is it. Highly, HIGHLY recommend.
I have had this game for a very long time and love it. However, I recently had a new phone (a Doogee N20). For some reason on this phone the game thinks I have a gamepad attached when I don't have one. In gamepad mode the touch screen doesn't work. Adding a gamepad allows me to play it but this is the only game I've found that doesn't support both gamepad and touchscreen simultaneously.
This is a classic. I don't know why I can't find a single modern mobile game that actually compels me to play, but this is a joyous romp into PC past. Idiosyncratic and crafted. Takes me back. Probably best to play on a fairly big phone, the graphics and menus are PC screen sized.
Game has too many glitches, can't get through magical barriers without a n.p.c. named mell,he's never around. Get stuck in last tower on the second to last level with a ( get this) a broken elevator. I've purchased game 2 1/2 years ago, still unable to reach the end because of restarts,in an attempt to bypass game advancement barrier glitches. For sure don't buy this game until the developers fix all that.
My Save was overwritten with a very very save from +10 hours ago! That's frustrating, and it's a well known issue. Having only a single slot for saves doesn't make any sense. Although I truly loved the game, I have to uninstall it until a solution is found.
Good game, I'm glad it got an Android port. But near the end of the game, the elevator for the last tower are buggy. Sometimes after cleaning the whole level they won't lower the guar rails to let you in.
The game is decent and very fun, cloudsave system is awful. I played to chapter 5 without connecting to google, and when I connect to see my achievements, it automatically overwrited my save with a google drive save with only 30min playtime! Cloud save is supposed to be an extra feature, how did it break my local save?
Love the game but twice in the past 2 days game has kicked me out and started way back from where I was at. Losing interest playing the same level over and over again. Edit: Do yourself a favor and save your money. After multiple saves and getting progress it glitches and sent me back 7 levels from where I was. Unistalling and taking an L on the money lost.
Autosave (my only save) was overwritten, after a few hours of progress, with a 20 minute old save. Turns out I'm not the first to have something like this happen. I'm not about to replay the first few hours of the game. This is very discouraging. Uninstalled.
Erased my original BT1 game. Keyboard doesn't work; I got the game for the Bard's Tale trilogy. In BT 1, I can't create new characters - when I get to the screen where you name them the keyboard input does not work.
Tears of joy to be playing the original trilogy again! Thanks so much for including it! Wish I still had my Amiga to import characters, but it is time to start over with a new party. The game looks and plays like it did in the 80s, but I have forgotten enough that it is almost like playing it for the first time. Hint: use scrcpy to play on a bigger screen. My prize for re-completing the trilogy will be to the play the new game. It might take awhile, because I am going to enjoy every square inch of the old ones.
Very fluid experience. I have played this game on pc and the experience is the same. The camera angle is a bit weird and could suffer some adjustment but other than that it is an OK experience. The issue I am having is with the game itself as for the best possible outcome u have to be a d**k to everyone. It is funny for a bit, but after a while u get tired of other frackin npcs to be d***s after u worked ur but off to do their quests. Not devs fault, the game itself is like that even on pc.
I swear this has got to be one of if not the funnest action rpg summoning style with close combat or range skills combined with summoning abilities as your main power. Does it sound like your typical game? Now add in that I busted out in laughter so many times from funny aspects that completely surprise u in a good way making u literally laugh out loud. More times than i could count. Must get. Also no nagging in app purchases. Only the one time payment $2.99 for complete full game.
A real blast. The humor is just right and you can't help but empathise with both the bard and the narrator. The plot is actually decent, it being a parody. The camera can be a bit annoying at times, as with the movement scheme which may make you walk into traps you've spotted but neither are bug issues
This game is great, between the old, offensive humor, the Gaelic-style setting, and all. Game cones with the original trilogy as well. My only issue is that the touchscreen is a bit janky to control and seemingly no way to do "some" cheats from the game. Do NOT buy the time savers, they are not necessary, and they are a new thing to this old game. For new players, start on easy, as this game is ungodly brutal in the beginning.
Just started, but looks to be the best fun I've had in a long time. The comedic storyline and the gameplay is just great. Year later. Started up again. Still great to play.
At first it said I wouldn't work on my device but was able to play the entire game np. I'm using the Samsung galaxy a11. Definitely worth $3 I loved that it gives you the option to select where the main file is stored. Wish all games had that option. Loading the auto save is a pain you'll have to close the app entirely then you'll have the option to resume right before you died. Save often to avoid irreversible game states
One of the best mobile games I've run into. It has quality graphics, voices, sound, scripting, etc. You don't have to spend a cent to finish it all either. Gameplay is easy, for instance if you find a better item it automatically replaces the one you have. No need to struggle with item management. It is even pretty funny with well written conversations, musical numbers and a nice plot twist at the end. My only complaint is I wanted more.
