Great game, quite relaxing, can be picked up by anyone. If there had to be a downside, perhaps the lack of ways to personalize and evolve your own character. The staff answers super fast and are friendly (facebook), I'll definitely get the second opus when it gets out!
Would give a 5 star if messages only displayed once for several instances. For example most nights i get the message "exhausted villagers went to bed" displaying continuously throughout the night and well into the next day and it becomes annoying. Other than that good fun, nice sounds, enticing enough story. Would be nice if my explorers were a little more successful though...
In my previous review, the game was broken and barely playable; I gave up on it as a result. Now it's entirely functional until at least the demo's end, which is a marked improvement. It would be nice if your character could equip, but I get how that might be unbalanced. I also wish the game could be marked as a trial rather than a free game, but that's more on Google Play than it is the devs right now. Kudos to the devs for fixing the game. Edit: I 100% get it; it's on Google, not you all.
Was a fun game. I purchased after the trial ran out and completed the game in about an hour or so of actual playing time. The mechanics of the game are easy to learn. The only thing that somewhat bothered me is that the game is way too short. It would have been nice if the boat opened up another area or something, but sadly there is no reason to play after the game is beaten. I'm hesitant to try the new bonfire game for the reason of it being much to short.
I love this game. I would give 5 stars, but the achievements I get don't actually unlock. Sometimes in a dungeon when warriors die, their healthbar still shows or they still stand altogether but don't move along/can't be healed. The words for the scores after the game is finished also don't line up at all. They just bunch together on the left side of the screen, making it impossible to figure out how to improve. Glitches are fine, but I had to pay to play for more than 10 days.
I finished the free chapters and decided to buy, but I can't toggle the sounds, which is a huge issue for me Edited: you can turn off the sound before loading your saved game, but sounds still happen in game, though I think music is off? In game sound controls don't work at all Plus one star for developer response. Will update based on further responses
Very intriguing and enjoyable game. Somewhat pricey, and I have not played past free version because of this. There is a good balance between slow and fast pace of the game, allowing for a slow introduction to get used to the game, but not so slow later on that it gets boring. Don't forget to assign guards! Nights can get rough. Highly recommend, just get ready to pay a bit to continue playing.
It's a challenging game where you really need to learn how to assign resources in order to do well. I enjoy it so far, but there is one issue I have with it You can't equip anything on your own character. Or, if you can, the method of doing so is obscure, unintuitive and not explained in the slightest Let me just end with one advise for beginners... do not underestimate the value of guards, even if the first few nights only have wolves that go down almost immediately. Trust me on this.
I love it. But yes, every game has its pros and cons. The cons are the fact that it can starts slow, really slow, plus you have to pay for the full version. The pros.. a lot! Clean graphics. No tutorial and the game is user friendly, even beginners. The challenges keep coming and it progresses well... and oh, so many things to build and craft. There is no one word to describe it. So, overall, the game is as base building, survival, resource management simulation game. Yea.. that's about right.
Simple resource allocation & survive the night game. The visuals are gorgeous, and it has a slow learning curve. But the paywall just to keep playing is profoundly disappointing. Makes sense, no blame, I'm just broke, and an option to continue with occasional ads would be nice. UPDATE: Thank you for the response Devs! I appreciate it but I've bought the game since, and it was worth the purchase. That being said, I do have one note. Late game, the UI feels a bit difficult to navigate.
Underwhelming. It looks great & the concept is interesting. In terms of gameplay though, there's not much challenge or reward once you get what's going on. It didn't really feel like it developed much from the free trial & the final fight was very much 'blink and you miss it' after everything you've done to get there. It's a shame, but there's just not enough going on to justify paying for it. Another niggle was the way you have to laboriously swap over equipment when you change worker's roles.
Note: This is not free, it is a free trial but the full game is only 3.99. The trial is fairly long and gives you enough play time to get all of the basics learned and give the game a good try in case you want to buy. The game has a very good art style, animates graphics, the controls are easy, and the music is pretty good. The objective is to build your village and attract more people to help build. Every night you get attacked so dont underestimate guards, the monsters are very tough.
Very enjoyable, played around an hour. Visuals are beautiful if a bit hard to read at points (resource numbers can be hard to read at times). The fights seem very vague and are either super easy or impossible, I dont know if this is intentional but it can be a bit irritating. Overall, good game but could have some minor tweaking done to make it a great one.
Good game. Good pace. It keeps you on your toes with the idle part because if you dont do anything or mess up, those seconds can cost you some resources. The further you get into the game the more clustered everything feels (the buttons and the interface). I feel like they could work more on this so it wont get so confusing and scrolling all the way to the left just to go back one menu takes too long. Trial period is too short. Just seems like any idle game at this point.
Very calming and entertaining, I appreciate the sounds, graphics, and music a lot. I've tried looking, and I just can't find anything like this. You guys have done well, please keep supporting this game 🙏 One complaint; During certain times/weather conditions, the white wording next to the resources either can't be read or is very difficult to read due to blending. Otherwise, great game! Even if you don't buy full, it's still a good length and gives a good idea of what the game's about.
If you are familiar with the PC game Kingdoms, this game seems to draw a lot from it, but slightly less featured in that you don't have full control over your character, and can just direct him through certain commands. Nice art style and a good soundtrack, a shame the soundtrack resets in a very obvious way that ruins immersion. Game length relatively short, and very linear so no replay value. Happy to have played it, and I think it is worth the cost, but not by much.
Love the simplicity of the calming music and scenery. Plenty of twists to keep the game engaging and challenging to keep scaling up. Wish reassigning workers was a little easier to do (fewer nested menus). This is the first time I've left a review for a game so it shows how much I liked the trial. Hoping to unlock the full game and ve able to continue on past the intro! 🙂
The full game is kinda nice. The pace is good. Not too hard but challenging enough that you loose the first few runs because things get scary at night. The game is perfect for mobile. You can play short sessions and come back to it without being lost. Don't get put off by the demo... I feel it's really too short to really enjoy the game and get a feeling of it's mechanics. Do try it out.
