Who designed this for Android? Search text is dark grey on black background. You cannot read the results. Search itself is not good, pulling old results before today's news - if it finds today at all. Scrolling stories it's black text on a black gradient and you can only see half of the top sentence describing the article. You have to click each article to see what it's about. Total junk app and a waste of time. My family pays money for this? Garbage.

This app is terrible. When you're reading an article, it freezes and shuts down. They recently updated it and now I can't even get that far!!! As soon as I click an article, it freezes and shuts down. I don't have any problems with any other apps, except this one. It's by far the worst app!!! Please upgrade this app Mr. Buffett!!!

So much worse than previous versions. Now a very limited collection of stories, and no easy way to get what you want. Where are the sub headings under Local or Gusto? Home page is all photos and captions, with almost no content. I will probably cancel my subscription if this is all I can get.

Fails to open. Frustrating is an understatement. Times are tough for everyone and it's a wonderful and selfless move by the Buffalo News to share the covid-19 info for free with everyone. The only problem is that if the app won't open what good is free content? I'm just a sucker who actually pays for a subscription for an app that won't open. I would rate negative 2 stars given the opportunity.

The app continues to say I have read my 'free' articles and refuses to open news though I am a paid subscriber. It often closes without reason also. Going on the web to read the News is a lousy solution but it does not deny me access, once signed in. FIX THIS IN APP!! Reading the E-version is very difficult also due to type sizes.

This is is the worst. It stops intermittently and doesn't link to a full story. At least it now has news notifications, but what's the point if you can't read the story? Time for a subscription with a different organization!

New app says no internet connection. The iPad app won't rotate and is difficult to use. The link on the desktop works well. It's new design is similar to the NY Times

Crashes upon opening uninstalled and reinstalled still crashes You can open up Buffalo News website in Chrome and go to the 3 vertical dots top right and choose Add to Home Screen. You can get to the E Edition from there. A workaround

When I receive the morning headlines, each story is a brief synopsis of the full article. You are told you can read the full article "Here". However, there's no active link or links further below. Very disappointing.

I am now unable to open this useless app on either my Android phone or tablet. I called the BN about it today. I was told that they are aware of the problems (duh, it's been a long time that it's malfunctioned!) and are working on a new app. When I asked when it might be available, I was told that she had no idea. I asked her if it would be weeks or months and still got nothing. Oh, I got a suggestion that I read the BN using a browser. What great service from a "communications" entity, huh?

Just plain annoying. On the other hand if you like random CNN video feeds to start playing at full volume while you're trying to quietly read a story at work, then you'll live this app.

After over a year it still doesn't work on my Android phone. Though I can now zoom. I still can't Click on story, nothing happens. The zooming to read doesn't work well enough to be useful.

Continually does not open on my Android device. Have had much frustration with the app after subscribing to the digital news. If not corrected will cancel my subscription.

Horrendous... In the last two weeks, I have had the uninstall and reinstall this app at least six times. This is a service I am paying for... And I am restricted by the poor quality of this app. Is Buffalo News going to fix this? Or will they reimburse us our subscription?

Wish I could give less than one star. My wife wants the paper otherwise i wouldn't bother. Constantly uninstalling and reinstalling to try and get it to open. What a waste of time. I'm not going to bother anymore.

Every time I try to use this app it tells me I have no more articles left and asks me to sign in even when I am signed in. Signing out and signing back in does not correct it. Very frustrating especially when my home delivery doesn't happen like today.

This app is junk. It will not load. I have uninstalled and installed it a number of times, to no avail. Zero stars would be more fitting. Edited 6/26/20. Revised to three stars. Noticed the new look of the website, so I thought I'd try the app again. So far, I like what I'm seeing. Give it another chance. It ain't anything like it was!!

The doesn't even load. It opens to a black screen and doesn't go any further. Don't know how they can advertise this app when it doesn't work.

Total Junk Does Not Work On Androids and apparently their one person tech department has no clue how to fix it. This is part of the reason Buffalo will always be a second rate town! Even tiny towns news websites work but not Buffalo. They must not know that Android is comfortably the most popular mobile operating system in the world. As of March 2018, both NetMarketShare and StatCounter agree that it controls around 70 percent of the combined smartphone and tablet market

No internet connection detected message displays every time the app opens. Plus no subscription changes can be made other than by phone unless you want to upgrade.

I was hoping for more info in detail. I use to live n Grand Island NY and I'm still and always will be a die hard Buffalo Bills fan and a huge love for snow. But the app wants $$ or it's not detailed enough for me.

Unbelievably bad. Often won't connect. It says there's no connection detected when there actually is a strong connection.

Keeps crashimg. Have uninstalled/reinstalled 50+ times and counting just so I can use my subscription. The app, when it works, is better than going thru the browser

Would really be nice to have the photo galleries operational.. very disappointing. And enough with the repetitive Smokey the Bear ad!

Terrible app for a mediocre newspaper. The app keeps crashing. I paid for this?? Just awful! If the News is trying to lose customers they are doing a great job.

App broken. When I try to open it immediately crashes. Tried reinstalling and it still crashes.

This app has been broken for weeks. I pay for a subscription but cannot read articles on a phone without it constantly asking to login (website) without the app.

Was working for years, now doesn't even open. I have a paid subscription, but maybe not for much longer if the app doesn't get fixed.
