UPDATE: I'd give this app zero stars if I could. Reminders don't work at all anymore, which pretty much defeats the entire purpose of the app. I've been using this app since it was introduced. Suddenly, I am not getting Reflection Reminders. However, if I remember on my own, when I open the app, the reminder pings. I used to be able to "set my watch" by the reminders. Not sure why this happens but it's not worth using if the Reflection Reminders don't work anymore. Disappointed.

I want to love this app, but it's far from usable. Photos often take 3-5 attempts to get one that's focused. Volume management is terrible; mine is in a broken state that might require deleting and reentering all my data. Volume date restrictions mean starting a new journal midmonth will prevent entering pages. Automatic volume creation when closing the previous one means adding a 2nd edition book is impossible. I have support requests in and will gladly add more stars as the app improves.

Maybe just me, but I do not see a difference in picture quality when choosing full or optimal. I tried to upload images of my journal to the library, but the format would get messed up a, making it difficult to read my handwriting. Tried both full and optimal setting, and looks the same to me. A bit disappointing. no purpose to uploading if I can't read them. It's not the picture file (I checked). Also, it would be nice when capturing pictures to have a flash mode so my shadow isn't in the way.

Does what it says & updates have provided good features that I'm interested in. Worth the money as a companion to a physical bullet journal. The log is just what I need when I only have my phone or just want to jot something down quickly. I also love the full journal backup, but it drives me crazy that I can't customize the page numbers since the spreads in my notebook start on even numbers instead of odd. It ruins the appearance of my spreads in the app.

I wouldn't describe this as a companion. It needs more functionality. The note taking ability is poor, and the option to take a photo is useless. I'd like to see the ability to scan of my journal and convert that into a workable digital page. With the added feature that would send me notifications when that task is due. I would also like to see a widget and the ability to sync with other apps.

This is a start, but the current version feels anemic. I get that the creator probably wants to keep a minimalist approach, but if I'm to pay for an app, I'd expect more features from it than a few links I can find in my phone's browser, and a reminder function. My main problem with the app is that there is no way to sync your notes to different devices. I have a personal phone, a work phone, a tablet, and a chromebook that runs android apps -- and I am NOT going to check every device at the end of the day to make sure I didn't miss any notes. Please, please, please support multi-device sync! I would also love if this had a habit tracker feature. I love habit trackers, but I do not like the tedium of making them every month. I think it would compliment the bullet journal beautifully. Overall I think it's a good idea because I love bullet journaling and sometimes the method can use some digital help, but I think it still needs further development.

Having timed notes and reflection reminders built into one app is brilliant, but it doesn't work! I have only gotten the notification once, and I haven't been able to figure out what circumstances were necessary for that one lucky moment. I have no problems getting notifications from any other app, and I made sure my settings for it are all the same. No response from support at all, and of course I forgot about it since the reminders don't work so it's too late for a refund. Money down the drain!

I love this app. For years, I have struggled between a digital management system versus a paper-based one. Both have their benefits. I've come to realise that it's not an either-or question, but both are necessary. This app helps to bridge the two worlds without trying to do too much. That is one of its key distinctions. The somewhat minimalist nature of this app is a feature, not a bug. Non-bujo practitioners will not understand this app and think that it's "useless." As its name says, it is a *companion* to your bullet journal, and if you are a bullet journal user, you will probably find it handy. It is also powerful. Using the Library feature, you can have a digital record of all the key entries in all your bujos. If you're particularly obsessive, you could even have a photographic record of all your bullet journal pages. I'm grateful that this app came out while I was on my first volume, so I can imagine that I'll be having a great paper-digital hybrid record of my journals from here on to the end of days. The only reason I didn't give this app a full 5 stars is because it doesn't allow overlapping of dates for volumes. For example, my first volume ended in the midst of April, so by right Vol 1 should end in Apr and Vol 2 should start in May. The app forces Vol 2 to start in May. This is clearly a design mistake. Other than that, I'm loving this app and bujo, and I expect that little bugs like that mentioned above will be ironed out in time.

It needs a feature that let's you zoom in on the pictures you've taken. Being able to zoom on ALL the pictures within the app would be great because there is a lot of small print on sample pics, but zooming on the pictures you upload to your library would be amazing because many of us write small and you want to capture the full pic. Love that I can take pics and have a digital copy of my bujo. Just got it and haven't had a chance to use all of the features but it's what is advertised so far!

An elegant app that values simplicity over everything. The simplicity makes this an acceptable companion to a journal, but needs some work. The lack of zoom on pages is really unfortunate. My handwriting is not great and I can hardly read the text without squinting. A little more complexity and a few more features like the ability to add multiple tags to a page would be super helpful.

Really like the idea of beeing able to take notes on your phone and then getting that motivational factor to actually transfer it to your journal but there are a number of things that I would personally want to change. First of all it would be nice to be able to choose the backgroundpicture yourself. Secondly I would like the option to hide the guide once you have read it. Third and finally I don't like the article feature I don't think it aligns with the app as a tool, more a distraction.

May 2020. I was a bit disappointed by the limited feature set, given the $5 price tag. You can't zoom images, the page number orientation (even = right, odd = left) can't be changed, and I'd like to use a single image to cover 2 pages at once. You also can't have 2 journals with overlapping dates or custom names. It works well enough, but it lacks the flexibility that I expect relating to bullet journals.

A great companion app to the journaling method itself. Incredibly helpful with brief, informative articles and videos. I love that I can keep pictures of my journal pages formatted in a very intuitive way. The only thing I would change is having the option to be reminded when the tasks I've logged will disappear from the app so I can remember to transfer them to the journal. Otherwise, a perfect companion and totally worth the one time fee.

I love that its a companion app, and not a replacement to the functions of your journal, coz current systems are an "either / or " option; you can't really use one without making the other redundant. Exceptionally handy when you have an idea/task in your head, but your journal isn't with you. And the option to keep photos of your entry is good when you're on the go and you want to look back.

I support Bullet Journal, because it's flexible and can be endlessly adapted by the user. In contrast, this Android app is hamstrung, stiff and counterintuitive. That's surprising for an app that costs money, but the quirks would be frustrating even in a free app. The Log with its time limitations and deletions is odd but serves a purpose. However, the operating principles behind Reflections are completely inexplicable and quirky. It looks good but it's a clunker... a rough draft.

Frustrating and disappointing. I'm new to bullet journaling, and thought this app would help me bridge between the digital and analog. Unfortunately, the app is so awkward and non-intuitive that it's useless. I regret buying it, but the developer claims they can't give me a refund, and Google Play won't refund, either. Don't waste your money like I did. It's more efficient to just upload photos of your journal pages to Evernote, where they are also searchable and private.

This app would be great if I could take clear photos of my Bullet Journal. I opted for the better quality setting but they are so blurred that I can't read any letters. It's a fantastic idea but it needs refining, maybe an in build phone camera scanner app would help? Update: this problem was fixed, images are not blurry anymore. I appreciate that someone took the time to comment under my review, thanks.

This app does mostly what I wanted it for - to capture pages from each journal that I'd like to be able to find again without having to go flipping. My main complaint is that it seems to presume you would only end a notebook at the end of a month. This kind of isn't how real life works. I have to pretend that my new book started at the beginning of a month instead of when I actually started it. I wish this could change. Also, if I want to capture my index, some of my books have page numbers on the index and some don't so I have to pretend it's page 1. I'd prefer not to have to kluge things into the app so if this month overlap thing could be fixed it would bel much friendlier for me.

Tri. O. B. Sep 4, 2020

Such a great idea, but it SUPER restrictive. In books and journals, the odd pages are on the right side. In the app, odd pages are on the left. Any two-page spreads get screwed by by that, unless you want to screw up your page numbers. There is no way to change that. If I'm taking photos of older pages, there seems to be no way to back-date them in the metadata. When entering a new journal, you select a page count. There is a maximum for no apparent reason. Very light on instruction.

A great digital companion for an analog tool. I usually have my bullet journal with me, but I'm glad to have a temporary log in this app for those tasks or notes I want to capture on occasion when my notebook isn't handy. Combined with the reflection reminders, this app's log is a handy way to avoid going overboard trying to digitalie my BuJo. I do wish I could go back and log reflections after the fact and there needs to be a way to turn off sounds.

I was uneasy spending $ on this app because I wasnt sure I was going to stick with bujo and the mixed reviews sounded like the app didn't do much. I am happy to report the app is fantastic and was the missing piece in my bujo workflow! I LOVE being able to capture ideas and know that they will be in my paper bujo within 72 hrs or they disappear... I love the beautiful, peaceful user interface. This app has been reliable, simple to use, and has helped me fully embrace bullet journaling. Get it!

I love the library section, it's great that I can store photos of each page of my journal. In a future update I suggest changing the start/end date feature to have a day of the month as well. I finished a journal last night, caught up on taking pics and set the end date to June 2020. While scrolling through it this morning I noticed it put all my entries from June 2-19 into a separate, second journal with no way to move them back. Not too happy about that

I love this app as it really serve its purpose. I would highly recommend an improvement for the archive's camera feature. Since I'm using a B5 size notebook for my BuJo, I sometimes find it hard to take a clean picture. I either have a full page with hard to read writings or a detailed writing but cropped out page. For future updates, I think everyone would love it if you can add a crop feature. Or... if you can import pictures from the phone so that we can edit the pictures to make it cleaner

Does the job, but not well. The entire app is essentially just content freely available on the website, plus a temporary rapid log that expires entries after 72 hours. NOT worth the money unless you have free google play credit lying around like I did. The Reflection function is a great idea but again not worth paying for, its just two alarms per day, you can set the times but the interface could be a lot better, and the scheduling should be freer - one a day would suit me better

Kah. B. Jun 19, 2020

I was expecting more flexibility especially given the $5 price tag. When selecting a collection, only a portion are available. I can't scroll down to select more (even though they exist). I have to rewrite collections constantly. Also the fact that two journals can't have the same month is extremely frustrating. I ended one of my journals in the middle in June, but cannot start the next journal until July because of this limitation. Honestly might delete because of this.
