A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR:
I’ve been a believer my whole life, I’ve attended Christian schools my whole life, and I’ve heard the stories of Jesus countless times. I’ve also seen every Jesus movie and miniseries ever made, and there have been dozens. So why a new TV show about Jesus?
Because I have a passion for people to hear the “old, old story” again … for the very first time. When I see Jesus movies, it’s sometimes hard for me to feel moved or excited. I've heard the stories before, and many Jesus projects just take you from Bible story to Bible story, not spending as much time on the humanity and backstories of all these characters. And they sometimes feel stiff and formal.
So when we started to write a show that explores Jesus through the eyes of those around Him, we were repeatedly moved and excited. We explored the backstories of Simon Peter, Matthew, Mary Magdalene, Nicodemus, and a few of Jesus’ miracle recipients, and in turn experienced Him in the way they did. We couldn’t help but identify with their recklessness, rough pasts, religious piety, and desperation for life change. And ultimately, their redemption.
One of our favorite responses from an early screening? "The story of Jesus that actually appealed to my teenagers!"
No matter where you’re at in your journey with Christ—whether you’re one of the many people in the gospels who encountered Jesus after a horrific past without Him, or you’re a Nicodemus who’s been a lifelong member of the God team—Jesus proved over and over that we have so much to learn and innumerable traits that need change.

Easy to use. It's free. You get to interact with others (testimonies show up on feed). All seasons are in the app. I have no problem casting it to my TV, and have been able to switch captions options and fast forward from my phone. You get updates. Have not had any issues with The Chosen App.
I love everything that this stands for. My only critique is that if I stop watching (while casting to my Samsung TV) in the middle and start again later, it starts from the beginning. I have found no way to fast forward. My TV remote allows fast forwarding, but only 12 seconds with each push of the button. If I fast forward on the app first and then cast, the casting starts from the beginning. Would like to have closed captions available. Some accents/dialects are hard to understand.
The show is fantastic! And the app is very intuitive. I really find myself wishing there was a, like, watch together or groupwatch type feature so i could watch it with my fiance who lives in another state. I really hope they consider adding one in the near future. Besideds that, the only real problem ive had with the app is when i turn off my phone or exit the app, the show will keep playing, so ive lost my place multiple times.
New review. I originally watched this show on Roku. Completed both seasons and had many chills doing so. Beautifully done. I have watched episode 1 many times it is so good. When I first watched, Chromecast didn't work. Now it does. However, the Roku App has disappeared from my channel list. That's disappointing. Yes you can watch it on Tubi. The only problem with watching it on Tubi is the commercials. It ruins the " moments" that you get whether crying or getting the "goosies".
The app works great. Problem I'm having is it will not cast to my TV through the Firestick. I get a message stating " In November 2021, Google forced an update which removed the casting feature to Fire TV. As soon as these brands learn to play nice again we'll get this feature up and running. In the meantime, check out other casting options here". I can always use an HDMI cable to put it on the TV from my Chromebook but will be nice when that option works again.
I love this series but when I try to enter full screen mode I accidentally press the button that moves the play timer to the end of the episode. Also, I wanted to pay it forward but didn't realise it was in US Dollars so I gave over half more than intended. Please ensure its clearly in USD! Rating 2 stars to get developers attn. Will increase to 5 star when changes made
May anyone who uses the app to view these amazing Episodes be blessed. I sure am. The app is the best thing that has happened to us. It's a very easy interface filled with the good stuff. Useful notifications and not unnecessary. You can even access interviews and extra scenes. Keep up the good work. God bless you.
The app is great the wonderful content, Glory to God for the work. I have a connection difficulty because the application doesn't have resolution quality adjustment in the video player to decrease or set a standard (I would really like this feature). Mobile data connections are very unstable here in Brazil.
I love this app Uodate: For the longest time I thought the only pay it forward option was $150/month. I didn't know the dot was a slider. That is a design flaw. You should change that. 2nd problem is when I change the amount to $15/month, the app crashes and closes. I will be happy to set up a recurring donation once you fix the app.
Fantastic series. Not always biblically accurate 100 percent of the time but in good with that. They have to have some artistic license to build the story. But if you've read the gospel this will all ring true while helping to put you in the time of Christ, and that is so valuable for people who don't know Him but are open to seeking Him
I've enjoyed watching the show. I just want to put this up to help. If you are using a Samsung phone you can use your mirror to tv or if Apple air play. To have control of fast forward and rewind. Or pause and return. Hope this helps.
This series, The Chosen, is the best depiction of Jesus and his disciples according to the Bible. Giving each disciple their own special nature and personality, brings them to life! I fell in love with each character, and I found none of the scenes were dull or vague. If you're looking for the Bible as hisory, I highly suggest you view this series.
This program is really exceptional. Hope they continue through the whole book. It is so hard to find such quality programs to watch. Really am glad I found it. Some things good can come from Facebook. I saw it advertised there. That is a rarity. Thank you and Blessings on all the people giving of themselves so freely for all of us.
This is the most incredible depiction of Jesus as both God and Man. I think I have both laughed and cried during each episode so far. I am getting ready for S2E3. Easy to use, too! No real ads, only explanation of the development of the production. You can also watch the round table interviews with the director, a rabbi, a priest and a pastor.
The Series is very beautiful ,and the cause is way more , it would be great if there's different video quality options starting from 360p up to whatever it's available One more thing , the app doesn't cast on LG TV
A great way to introduce friends to the Chosen and very easy for them to download and start to see the message of Christ for themselves and others as it is contagious. Very easy to use and very helpful for understanding what was most likely going on that caused the events recorded in the Bible. It has helped so many ignite their walk with God and their new found love for His word, The Bible.
Amazing that they provide this for free! Fantastic acting, great story adaptations, my favorite (and I think most realistic) versions of key Bible characters. I have donated and will continue to do so.
Help!! Everytime I try to pay it forward and select the amount for the subscription, the app closes instantly. Been trying it for a few days now and it keeps on happening.
Wonderful to see. The story of Jesus and his disciples. It's one of these stories that makes you realized Jesus Christ is always there for you. On several episodes overpowering message, For a person who has dyslexia this this is a wonderful thing to see here and be there with Jesus and his followers. The parables that Jesus talked about. Makes it look real. Keep up the good work and I'll keep on sharing the message with others.
This is an AMAZING series and and well worth downloading the app! The writing, the production, the acting are absolutely the best! It's unlike anything you've seen before... definitely not like "Jesus movies" of the past. Whether one believes or not, whether one is a Christian or not, it has appealed to hundreds of thousands of people in over 160 countries, has been translated into over 40 languages, and has had over 143 MILLION views!! COME AND SEE! You will LOVE the series!
Easy to use. However if you pause the video l because you have to take care of something and go back to the video it starts it over, or goes to the next video.
This series not only chronicles the ministry of Jesus, it clarifies the persons He called to follow Him and learn from Him. Staying true to Scripture, the human & God aspects of Jesus are tastefully depicted. His logic, humor, empathy and power are all intelligently and (most importantly, in my opinion) believably portrayed. Very well written and produced, with bloopers at the end of a few of the episodes, I am looking forward to the next season!
This program has been user friendly and easy to use. TV cast works well with compatible digital TVs. All content is high definition and good quality. A God send for sure.
As I went to cast from my phone to our Roku TV, the tv pulled up the Add a Channel routine revealing that Angel has a Roku channel. Added the channel and don't have to cast The Chosen from my phone, can watch it direct on the TV streamed via Roku. A+ !! Watching Season 1 Episode 1 now. Cinematic quality is top shelf, very well done. Haven't explored Community blog on the app yet, but what a great concept to bring it all together. Read the Gospels during Lent. This is a great follow up.
Incredible well made show. Please add more payment options!!! I know credit cards are a big deal in the US but here in Europe, most people don't even have a credit card. They are difficult to get too, banks have high requirements. We use online banking or PayPal. You can even try services like Klarna. Those work here too. But having only a credit card payment option allows my friends and I to NOT participate in paying it forward.
I absolutely loved the message!!! If I need to stop in one episode, I am unable to resume watching it. And the singing during the opening fish is loud, I would like to Muir it.!
For some reason it won't play after going to the title screen it just goes to the page I was on before. It said the beta (something) is full. I have no idea what that means. So I have seen the show once and loved it. But, now I can't rate it if I can't open it. Because is it my phone or the app? I found out what was wrong and it wasn't this app. The show is amazing! Absolutely 💯 beautiful.
Update: Working!! We absolutely LOVE this series! Thank you so much. However, we can't get it to cast to our Samsung smart TV though it says "casting". We have no issues with other programs or videos. Have a blessed day.
5 stars for the content! 4.5 for the beautiful app which is slightly glitchy for casting. When I start casting sometimes it plays the Audio simultaneously on my phone. Then the play/pause will not respond and in order to stop the video I just have to disconnect the casting session. I'm using it with a Google Chromecast. I am not complaining as the content is worth any hassle the app may offer and the fact this is free is truly doing God's work.
