I only suggest Cincinnati Enquirer Subscription to my worst enemies. The app itself doesn't resemble a paper at all. It's also very slow I was a new subscriber, and I have yet to see a paper. I called everyday; and everyday an out-sourced rep give the same disingenuous and vague excuses. I only knew my paper wasn't coming when it's the end of the day, I call, and they say, "no more carriers are delivering today, sorry." No on reached out. I feel so disrespected and unheard. I want out.
I downloaded the app and purchased a subscription primarily so I could follow my home town sports teams after I moved to another city. The writing had gone downhill to the point that 50% of the articles are covering "Twitter reactions." The app constantly pops up a banner suggesting other articles I may enjoy, which I'm sure is meant as a feature but I find it terribly distracting and there is no way to disable it. The Athletic has superior writing and a superior user experience.
The content is good but it is annoying that everytime I try to read anything, I'm asked to login. Hope this will be fixed soon. UPDATED: The problem has gotten worse. About a quarter of the time I try to login, I am redirected to a black screen where no content ever loads. There really is no excuse for an app to be this buggy and not user friendly. UPDATED UPDATE: Huzzah, the login issues seem to be resolved and I can read the articles without needing to enter my credentials every time.
Log in is brutal. Have to sign in every time you want to read an article. At least before, it would let me sign in. Now it doesn't work all together and just keeps spinning at the log in page. I pay for this service so fix it or you'll be losing a subscriber this week. Should be an easy fix so not sure why it hasn't been addressed when EVERYONE is having the same issue??
Stopped working completely with update. Will not load.
Terrible app and customer service! I sign up for one price, get another price? Try to correct the price, subscription gets cancelled! Try to sign up again, I see an ad for .99 for a year, or $9.99 per month, or .99 for 3 months. Which is it????

Used to be great but now everytime I want to read an article I have to login. So annoying. Please fix this. I can see having to confirm your subscription on occasion but everyday is ridiculous. Update: As of 1/4/2021, I can no longer login to read subscriber only articles. Entering my password results in a black spinning screen or an Google play screen item not found with a retry button.
The ads make the app cumbersome. One ad takes up nearly the whole screen and won't let you scroll to the next set of stories. Repeat experience every 5 or 6 headlines. It's very frustrating
This problem went away for a while and NOW IT IS BACK AGAIN! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!👎👎👎👎👎👎 I cannot log into my account through the app. I am able to log on to my account via the website. How about fixing the app. I contacted The Enquirer and they said it is not their issue and to contact Google Play. Google Play says it is not their issue and to contact the App Developer. I guess no one will ever fix the problem. RIDICULOUS!
Too many notifications for the same story. I wish there was a way to stay logged in. Every time I click on a notification to read a story, even every few minutes, I have to sign in. Such a hassle!
I really can't understand why this app gets such a low rating!! I am TOTALLY Pleased with this app. Nice layout, very realible, even keeps me up to date on new stories I've missed when I sign in! I don't normally give such a long rating, but this app has a rating that DOES NOT fit its operation. It's a 5 plus in my humble opinion, I highly recommend this news app!!
UPDATE: I tried your app again a few months later and have to say it is much better now. It's easier to to navigate to the sections I want to read, and now I can select the sort of notifications I want to receive. Thanks for the improvements. Now if you can figure out how to include all the Sunday advertising inserts, everyone in our family will be happy.
The app kills it with the notifications. I get them all day, every day. And the stories look good! But why do I have to login to the app literally every day? I emailed support over a week ago and would like to keep my subscription but if I can't get the content I'm paying for, what's the point.
Move to something else...in this day and age with news readily available, way too much on paid content only. Too many ads or needs subscription. Plenty of other apps to get same news without paying for it.
Super annoying app - they send notifications but when you click on it they require you to log in EVERY time, then you have to hunt for the headline they sent you in the list of stories.
Really disappointed with need to "subscribe for 30 days free". Haven't seen what they plan to charge after that. Will probably delete the app. Ads are annoying, too.
Can't log in. Have a digital subscription that faithfully takes 9.99 out if my account without fail. Constant loop of login screens. Cancelling.
It's bad enough that you have to login every time you want to read an article, but now you can't even login. All I see is a spinning arrow. Cleared cache, still nothing. FIX IT PLEASE.
It took long enough, but the following issue has been resolved. I have been unable to log into the app for a few days. Before that, I would have to constantly log back into the app almost every day.
Ever since app was updated i cannot use my subscriber login and password. Please fix. ASAP Still not letting subscribers login. You pay for a monthly sevice that doesn't even work. Terrible.
Have to sign in every time I open the app and half the time the app won't actually let me sign in. Really pathetic. Canceling subscription if this isn't fixed soon.
since the app was updated on 11/20/2018, I have not been able to load the app. error message is in Invalid entry, try again. fix it.
This application is terrible. It constantly freezes and makes me log in every time I click on an article.
Ever since the latest update, i have to sign in constantly to view a story on the app. I note that plenty of other subscribers are having the same issue. Why is nobody bothering to fix this or even have the courtesy to respond to subcribers' concerns? Do you even care?
Why is it so repetitive? The same article is listed 4-5 times on the main screen. Have to scroll forever to find new content. Terrible.
This app has become effectively useless. Nearly everything is now behind the Enquirer's blasted paywall. Gotta rake in those dollars from anyone who wants to find out what's gping on in Cincinnati! Grew up there. So very glad I don't live there any longer.
This was a great app giving local news as other news apps do for free. Now it is a platform to use as an ad to get you to subscribe to a paid news source.
I don't like how the "unread stories - catch up" takes you to a different layout, and scrolls horizontally. If the app ever had problems, clear the app's cache and delete the data.
