The best news source. Fair perspectives. Although they come off right I don't find them very slanted in day to day facts, much closer to center than legacy news sources. I must add that there are a few mechanical issues with the app. When I go to full screen it doesn't stay there as my phone moves, it should just stay full screen. Also, I live in an area with poor signal and there is something going on with the player where it freezes up, it doesn't work as well as others do with poor signal.
App needs some work. There needs to be a way to "Mark as complete". I have been listening to several podcasts on Google podcasts for a while. In the DW app, all of them are listed, even after I have listened to them. There shouldbe a way to mark them as complete. Also, a cue for listening would be super helpful. I drive about two hours for work daily, and don't want to have to pull up another podcast while driving. Thanks for great content, but the app needs some love.
Love the content, but the app itself is sub-standard. Video plays, then sound cuts out while the video continues. Update 12/28. App now requires me to sign in every day... It's kind of a hassle. Video still has issues with sound. On latest version. Update: now the app randomly closes, out podcasts stop playing. Sometimes the podcast playlists are empty. Please update this buggy app!
Criticism is entirely about the app, not the content! My issue is finding things - it's not intuitive. The main changes I'd love to see are the main menu being accessible on all pages, and being able to use the "search" function to find a show, not just a neverending list of episodes. Lastly, notifications. I wish there was a way to customize what we get. I seem to get all notifications for the shows and articles I don't care much about, but I have to dig for the ones I want to keep up on.
The content is great, don't get me wrong, but the app is absolutely horrible. You can't change any of the notification settings in the app (or anywhere) so it blasts you with a bunch of irrelevant notifications daily. There's nowhere to change email preferences either, so tons of irrelevant emails. Can't even log in through the app, it takes you to a web page. Logged into the app, but can't leave comments with error msg saying "you have to be logged in". I really expected better from these guys.
Love this app so much I use it all the time but primarily for podcasts. I'm excited for the growth of the company however it has made the app very cluttered. The play button features all movies, TV shows and podcasts and jt just makes it hard to navigate. I would love to see it more organized or even a separate podcast or media app.
For me, half the fun of news is reading the comments to see if people agree with the content of an article, but every time I start reading the longer comments, I have to click a "view more" button, which is fine. What isn't fine is that it constantly collapses again, so by the time I find the part in the particular paragraph I was reading, I have about 10 seconds before it collapses again and I have to find my place again. It also seems to live update placement of comments "sorted by best".
Love the app, proud supporter of the Daily Wire. I do have one issue with the app. The app keeps telling me "no internet connection", yet I'm sitting here in my house and my phone is connected to my wifi, and yes, all other apps on my phone work perfectly fine. It's an intermittent issue, doesn't happen all the time.
This review is for the app functionality NOT the content - I used to read daily wire content every day. Now, I cannot even get the app to load. I still get notifications about articles that are interesting to me and I would like to read, but when I click on the notification, the app opens and never loads the content. I have been completely unable to use the app for the last several weeks.
Great content, awful app Needs: Dark mode, save stories/bookmark, adjust font size I haven't really found a reason to use this app and really don't like it. I want to read the stories and such but the inability to change settings and tailor even my basic reading experience kills this pretty hard. See above for immediate fixes. Having paid for a subscription and getting this experience is a let down immediately, but I believe the dev team will fix it.
I can't honestly give this app a good review. I love everything Daily wire does except the creation of this app. It's terrible! Constantly crashes, doesn't save my progress in the videos I watch. I have to constantly force stop the app to get the live streams to clear once they have finished. It also logs me out frequently doesn't let me post comments on the articles then if someone responds I have to go searching to see the response because the link just takes me back to the article.
I love The Daily Wire but your app is a mess guys. Video playback barely works on 4G. I often start a video in the app and then switch over to YouTube because I get so frustrated with constant buffering. The YouTube app has no issue playing while Rosie's with no buffering, why? Also is so damn hard to use the timestamp slider in the app. You have to have perfect placement on the little circle to scroll through the video, why is it so hard to scroll around the timestamp?
My experience on the app is great. I get all the content I want and the library is gigantic (believe me I subscribed thinking it was just the podcasts but it's way bigger than that). However, the problem is that there is no Android TV app. I know there's a Roku channel but a TV play store app would be way more accessible (it seems this is a plan for the future at least since there is a cast button on the videos that doesn't work yet) Thank you DW for giving conservatives content beyond Hollywood
App has some problems; search function doesn't work great, organization is a bit weird, and other little things, like the comments are always sorted by new even if the default you set is best - like you have to click new and then best to actually sort by best. Great content as always though, so 4 stars from me.
Love Daily Wire, app is faulty. If you connect your device to Bluetooth, the app will always say "no network connection" or something similar. Have to disconnect Bluetooth, relaunch app, and reconnect Bluetooth to get any content to reload. I've found several times that podcasts will be uploaded to Pandora BEFORE available on DW app. What gives DW?
I am huge fan of the Daily Wire, BUT for some reason the videos will NOT play in landscape mode on my Galaxy Tab S7. What is the purpose of an app if I need to go through a browser to view a video. The ability for the app to operate in landscape mode in general would be really nice.
I would love to use this app more frequently for the video podcasts but it does not save where i left off on a video. I have to use youtube with ads just for the playback feature when Im already paying for a subscription. Without saving where I left off, the video in the app is nearly unusable.
The performance of this app continues to boggle my mind considering the price tag of my subscription. Constant and never-ending connection problems. Particularly when there is absolutely nothing wrong with my internet connection. I am downgrading to 1 star because it is absolutely intolerable.
Content great! Spam for paying customers? I love paying an all access membership to an app that used to be add free for paying customers but now has endless popup adds everytime my phone rotates! It's getting to the point that there is no upside to paid membership. I'm bombarded with adds anyway, why pay? "You can hang out with me" Right, you'll answer my live question and mailbag question to, right? Pff. The one thing I did get in add free is now gone. May not renew next year. To annoying.
Look, I love dw, their content is to notch.... This app is bad, I can't count the reasons. Latest is that when streaming here while driving, I use all my mobile data up. Also, the interface is difficult to find my shows in.... Yeah, really needs an overhaul of rewrite.
It keeps telling me that there isn't any Internet Connection when I am fully connected to my wi-fi. As an All Access member, this frustrates me because I can't watch the Live Streams whenever they happen. Other than that, the app is amazing.
The app is okay but needs an option to control what we get notifications for (i.e., I like news and politics updates but would like less sports/Crain and Company pushed notifications). Would also like the option to download podcasts to my device (over wifi) to play while traveling. I have a membership but end up using other podcasts players that can do this half the time (voiding my reasons for getting a subscription)
I want to like it so badly. However, the video player is almost impossible to grab the dot and seek forward and backward with my finger because it's so tiny. Somehow I never have this issue on YT. Also there's so much breaking pop culture news I don't care about and don't want push notifications for or on my front page (movie stars etc) but I do want some breaking news. Please let me personalize my feed to politics, world news, pop culture, etc. I love DW and what you do, but the app needs work.
Love the network. Hate the app. Probably the least user friendly app they could have made. You can't find anything you want because you're forced to scroll instead of being able to search. No clear cut way to watch following episodes of content. Probably the most frustrating is that the app doesn't follow Android requirements to be able to switch between data networks and mobile data on the fly. Requires a forced restart in order to switch. Also, there's no way to leave comments.
