I want to give this a 5, the premise of the app and the music is incredible. But frankly the app is riddled with bugs. Expect near constant crashes, for any reason at any time. It took me almost 15 minutes yesterday to actually get it running well enough to play anything. This needs a serious fix.
No controls from the task bar which is EXTREMELY frustrating. You need to open the app to pause it and 90% of the time it just starts the song over. Doesn't auto-pause for phone calls or when disconnecting from bluetooth. Really great idea and I appreciate this app a lot, I use it basically every day. But there are simple functionality issues that need to be addressed. I would pay for a fixed version.
Super! Best thing is 'This Day in History', displaying the shows of the day. Use that day after day for the same year and you can get a sense of their playlist changes over time. However. App sometime dies when trying to add show to favorites. And BTW it would be fine to be able to add the show you're listening to rather than going back to the list of shows. Also my tablet's screen goes off when the tablet cover is closed. Music plays fine. When the cover is opened several things don't get displayed/refreshed: current song in concert (or the name of the song near the progress bar) as well as the progress bar value itself. Nits. Bulletproof apps are hard and this one serves the purpose with distinction. Can send money?
Absolutely love the app. Easy access to countless hours of shows I'd normally never have access to. Only problem I have is that once in awhile(way more often than I'd like) the music will just completely stop and you have to either wait for it to come back or restart the song. Any other issues with the app are minimal and I can deal with them.
I love this app but latest update has degraded performance. No longer in the shown in notification area on my pixel 2. Does not pause when Bluetooth shut off. When i get out of vehicle, it is still playing on phone in my pocket. I take phone out and have to search for the app to pause (why is it not at top of screen in notifications like it was on previous version? why does it not pause like it did before? ). All annoying but i still use daily!
Good concept, but needs a lot of work; sadly, no updates since mid 2019. Lag/freezes after tapping anything can be up to a minute; so bring plenty of patience before using it. Also disappointing that it lacks both offline playback, as well as no integration with Android Auto - which are two features that are very much needed.
update: this app is getting worse and worse. a song will just randomly stop for no reason, and getting it to start again takes so much effort. no playback control anywhere outside the app, playback control in the app is a gamble. hitting play will jump to another song, pausing will start the whole show over, etc etc.
Spent lots of time with this app now. Occasional crashes. Would be really nice to be able to organize favorites and edit playlists beyond adding and deleting. Favorite folders would be incredibly useful once so many shows get favorited. Function limitations aside, this is a treasure trove for Deadheads.
I love and appreciate this app. The people complaining about freezing need to have patience. It could take as long as a minute to load a show. If you tap a show more than once to load, it will freeze and shut down. I wish I could put shows in queue to play next without any interaction from me. Would be nice when I'm in my car.
Something seems broken. Can't load songs for any show. Receive an error each time I try. Sweet App! Love it! Now it only had Android Auto compatibility it would be 5 stars. Thanks so much for creating it! Edit: I'd even pay $5 or $10 bucks for AA integration.
We are so lucky to have an app like this. You used to have to buy 20-packs of cassette tapes and meet up with other heads so that you could dub their tapes, one 45 minute side at a time just to eventually amass a collection of maybe a few dozen shows. Now, you can have every single show at your fingertips loaded up within seconds, all organized by year. It truly is a blessing and I'm so grateful!
LOVE this app, if you're a deadhead and you've listened to pretty much all streaming services like spotify have to offer, then this is a must have. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is it's a MAJOR bummer that you can't download songs/shows.
This is an absolutely great app for listening to any of the 2200+ recorded shows, in which I give a rating of ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. However over the past few years the app has sporadically stopped playing music right in the middle of a show. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app numerous times, which resulted in the same outcome. With this issue, I give a rating of ⭐⭐ 1/2. Not sure what to do to correct this problem.
