Worthless app as of the latest update on Sept 28, 2020. Won't let me log in; when I try, I get a message that "username and password are incorrect ". Not true as same login info works on the Detroit News website. Same issue with Detroit Free Press for over 3 weeks now. Poor support - I have emailed and called several times and gotten vague "we will pass this on" response, but nothing has been fixed. Would give zero stars if possible. They should be ashamed.
The app has devolved since I originally installed it, to the point I can no longer open it. Subsequent installs do not help. Even when it functioned, the app was quirky, repeatedly asking if I want to install the "latest edition," closing pages that I'm reading, and not accurately transcribing the printed version. This app is free to DetNews subscribers, and its importance cannot be overstated inasmuch as the DetNews home-delivers the print version only 3 days a week. But it's a poor effort.
Stopped working 3 days ago. Can't find any info on how to remedy the error message or restart. Uninstalled & re-installed multiple times. App is total disappointment. If I can't get any resolution in a day or two I'm going to cancel the whole Detroit paper for good !!!
I have been unable to log into the Free Press version of this app for almost 3 weeks and now can no longer log into this app either. I have contacted customer support daily for the past 3 weeks to no avail. It amazes me this organization is so insulated from their customers. This was a great app until it wasn't!!
App was working fine on Samsung running Kit Kat os and Amazon fire tablet now both just go to the demo page and freeze with a blank screen after the edition is selected. Thanks a lot Detroit News for changing your operating software.
The app was working fine until this week's update. I use Facebook to log into my account and that is no longer an option. It requires an email address and password. When I enter my email address, I'm told it is invalid. I'm paying for an account that's not working properly.
Paper is more neutral than that liberal and conservative news on television. Able to click an article to read on phone. Then using arrow keys scan through other articles an d adds. Nice job.
I like thatnthe content duplidctes the print edition. Good options within the app to zoom; jump to specific pages.
I enjoy being able to read paper I grew up with anywhere any time on any device. Occasional glitches but functional.
Same issue as before, app not working after update. Won't accept log in credentials. Really disappointed. App was working fine pre update.
Love the setup! I can click on the articles of my choosing and it brings up a clear easy to read format.
So far the best ePrint app I've seen for tablet. . Integration with social media needs improvement should always have a graphic and headline for Twitter.
Won't open. App hasn't been working. Reconsidering my subscription. Will not allow me to log in...using my correct password.
Excellent common interface for reading the paper on both my Android phone and laptop pc. I never miss reading my Detroit News home or away.
cannot open the detroit news with the detroit news E edition app, it takes me to the DEMO page and will not open any of the editions! Please Help
The problem is, when I want to share an article with colleagues or family members they often complain that they can't open the link! That's frustrating! How can this be fixed?
The android version of this app is not working. Can't log in either.
Detroit News is much better than the Free Press! I'm glad I switched.

a perfect way to read my morning paper
misses: takes a while to load and usually have to close app and reopen a few times to get it to work. click on a story and the wrong story shows up, close app, reopen and then it works-unless it is Sunday when you are out of luck. For a few issues, pages (including front page) didnt show up. obviously cant play the puzzles. hits: it's cold outside and I dont have to go get my paper from the end of the driveway. I can have the paper even if I'm traveling. if I want an old story, I can find it.
