The Elder Scrolls: Legends

I have been playing this game for only a few months. I must admit, up until this week it was a five star game. It had graphics, functionality, story, community. It was definitely a daily itch I needed to scratch. After the 'updates' (new developer and completely revamped ui) it is nigh unplayable. Too many bugs to list. There may be a small handful of useful updates to the ui, but by and large they are mostly awful. MS paint style graphics, odd color choices, a black filter over the whole screen makes it tough to see, wonky fonts.. the list goes on and on. Also, I have yet been able to make the update on my android phone... only on the PC

Update: Seems to be fixed finally.. Impossible to install and play. Always encounters an error while "Updating Game Assets" at around 230/1215 (note that each and every one of those takes an average of 5-10 seconds to download) -- then it never completes. Launching the game again it hangs while loading. I've tried everything. Sad thing is, this game works great and is a blast to play on the PC. But I can't enjoy it because I can't play on the go. Very disappointed, I expected better, Bethesda.

It's a very good game, a worthy offspring of The Elder Scrolls games; a love the story mode, and the good atmosphere that the Bethesda allways create with their brand even in a card game format. But you should do something with those everlasting loading screens. I'm not the guy, who make trouble of some load in a game, but there is always a loading screen, even if I just want to retry a puzzle, and it's a bit too much. If you fix that, it could be a very great game, that deserves the 5 star rating :)

This game was fantastic, but the new update destroyed it. It is gorgeous, but it doesn't control anymore. They put all the buttons in a corner impossible to reach, for some reason the game now registers taps on the left side of the screen fine, but all taps on the right side of the screen at registered about half a centimetre further to the right. I flipped the screen and this problem is not with my phone, just the app. The game basically unplayable now. UPDATE: So now I am not having the issue of the screen being inaccuarate, but instead the new graphics engine crashing the game, lagging, sputtering and the like. The game is even more unplayable because something as simple as playing a card can cause the connection to the server to be severed.

Used to love this game, but it's being plagued by basic things. I feel like I'm playing an alpha version of the game. This does not feel like a full complete game. I've invested money into this game and it's a shame to see it fall so low. First off, controls are horrible on mobile. Sometimes I can't select the talk options, graveyard, magicka ring , or view cards my deck/hand. Sometimes I can't even close the graveyard. Once I was reviving a creature from the graveyard and it summoned a different creature 3 times in a row. The only way for me to fix this is to exit the app, restart it, wait 2-5 minutes for me to rejoin and have the game skip 4 of my turns. I'm extremely disappointed in this. Why did this game take a step back in its progress? Finally, I completed a quest and I did not receive its reward. It was a quest to receive a card pack for winning with 3 attribute deck 3 times. If I did not receive this reward then what else have I not been receiving? Now the windows version isn't as nearly as buggy, but the mobile version needs optimization heavily.

The tutorial is really difficult to follow, the controls difficult to use, and there seems to be a bug where the opponents in solo play take literally hours figuring out what to do with prophecy cards. I always ended up forfeiting the fight because it wasn't a fight anymore. Boring, complicated, and a little stupid. I love the concept and were it better thought out and developed I can see where I might one day love this game. But as of right now, 10/10 would not recommend.

I have come across a game breaking glitch in the mission that tells you how to mulligan. Every time I try to redraw cards it stops doing anything. Sound keeps going and the animations for the background still move. I can also open the options menu. But it won't play, won't redraw my cards, and won't let me concede the match or restart at all. I like how it plays a lot but this is pretty frustrating Edit: I left it for 10 minutes and it fixed itself, but this is still inconvenient. Now 4/5 stars

Great potential ruined by poor optimization. There's too much lag and too many crashes for me to really enjoy this game which is disappointing because there's a great game underneath the problems. For the dev team: Focus less on flashy graphics and more on smooth play. Maybe it's just my phone, but then I don't think games should only be for people with top of the line equipment. I'll probably check back in on this in a few months, but it's currently just too hard for me to get invested. 😞

Pretty fun except rng hates me but hey hearthstone is the same way so it seems there's no escape. Serious complaint/suggestion though: rework the "last action" section of the screen. As of now it's just 4 boxes with pictures you have to click and it's highly obtrusive, and you can't even go back to see what happened beforehand in case you missed something (which can happen often in the middle of a turn). I suggest making it a tab that says battle history or something similar.

Edit: the latest patch has fixed this issue. 5 stars! Fun game, but the interface has a click offset that is extremely annoying to deal with. If you attempt to tap anything on the right half of the screen, you will need to tap about 1cm to the left of it to actually select it. This bug ruins the experience for me.

I love the Elder scrolls console games (I have played hundreds of hours into their games). But this gets stupid stuck when you play cards that win the puzzles and it doesn't respond half of the time. I played this on the computer too and have the same problems on it as well so it's not just the mobile version. Wish I could give a higher score but I can't. Maybe if they scaled back on nonessential options in game it would actually be responsive? Will try again in a few more months.

The game is interesting and rather nice, at first glance, but the level of content and variety of mechanics makes it tedious and headache inducing to keep everything in mind. The "Cards" tend be too small to read. If you suffer ANY sort of connection issues whether your own, network or the games own server's, be prepared have to re-do an entire turn, or even worse, restart your game from scratch when the game kicks you out of your connection. And speaking of connectivity, having the game at the end of each lost or won game, "De-sync" and have the odd result of closing and then re-opening itself can be irksome. Interesting and potentially promising game, but it needs a LOT of work, for stability and progression protection, among other details.

Game is unplayable. I made it just past the "Give need a warrior with..." cutscene, then get stuck at a screen of a table with a blue ball indicator. I never make it past this screen, after a few minutes the game just replays the cutscene mentioned above. The blue ball and candle flames never stop moving, so I don't think it's freezing. I've tried clearing cache, storage, Google play games data, and reinstalling. Nothing changes anything. Will increase rating when I can actually play this game.

Very good game overall. I'd say it's a mix between hearthstone and magic the gathering. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the bugs. Having to force close after creating a deck because the game audio will continue to play even when you go back to the home screen. As well as other minor bugs, not being able to load into game ect.... edit: issues seemed to be fixed

Love the game. Really fun. Wouldn't mind spending some money on it. But I have one really frustrating problem, the solo arena. It's fine that you need tickets and stuff to play it, but PLEASE stop making some of the levels luck-based. Some lanes change creatures to random creatures, or equip random items to creatures. It makes me feel like I have no say in winning or not. Who wins is entirely luck related.

Decent game. Too bad there's no way to log into you Bethesda account after you accidentally hit that you're new. Only register. I played for quite a while and I don't know if I want to Replay because they haven't thought the game through by making it now only able to register. Also when you've clicked on a card and drag it across the screen sometimes you play the wrong one. Make sure you drag straight up from the card and then over. Bit rediculious but whatever.

This game WAS awesome. I started playing it three months ago and was blown away at how good it was. I actually spent money on card packs. Now, after the update, I feel as though I have been robbed. Thus update forces your phone/tablet to redownload the app, and takes literally forever to upgrade your assets - if it ever completes. After 6 hours and multiple attempts, I have been unsuccessful. I keep getting server errors at various points in the download forcing me to start over. I get the need to regularly upgrade a product to attract new customers, but the upgrade took something that worked well and ruined it. New players may like it, but they will not know how much better the experience was before! I can only hope that the developers will fix this in the foreseeable future. Until then, I cannot recommend this game to others.

One of the best games of its kind I've ever played! Graphics music and storyline all superb! Contrary to what some claim that it's a pay-to-play, I haven't spent a penny yet. Recommend using gold coins to unlock storyline content as opposed to other purchases if you're trying to play free. I only have two complaints. The first is a zoom button would be most beneficial when deck building some of the print is nearly impossible to read on the small screen. Also searchable creature/card types please

Starting with the bad: I can't play on my SG Tablet anymore as I can't update the app, it just keeps giving an (error 963) message. Now for the good: Great game, game play and graphics and you don't have to spend real money to progress. After playing for free for less than 2 months (tip: do daily challenges and stories) I'm up to level 4 and seem to have some pretty awesome decks. BTW, the ranking system needs a serious rethink, it's not great right now.

I downloaded the game..it installed pretty quickly, however, I'm afraid to take a break from it cause it either takes forever to load or it constantly freezes when I try to open up the game again after turning it off. It looks like a pretty cool game & I'd love to continue playing it if I could...fix your load in times so I can give it the attention it seems to deserve.

This was a great game. But no longer. After the Sept. 25th updates the game developers ruined the game with a new annoying interface that is full of lag which makes the game nearly unplayable. It was once clear with easy to see and understand controls. A good update would have been new cards for a stagnant game, new storylines or expansions, a new game mode etc...but instead we were given a new annoying skin to the same game and new animations to the same old cards. Thanks for the worthless update.

This was a fine game prior to the massive overhaul pushed out 9/25/18. It's nothing ground breaking, but the game seems well balanced and graphics are good. Once they pushed out the update, the game crawls. I can't play a single match without connection errors and the loading takes forever. I can't recommend this game in its current state

Update: Excellent example of poor support and slow turaround times I was complaining about: it took the developer 10 months (!!) to respond to my complaint. I left the review on 12 January 2019, and the developer responded to it on 14 November 2019 - 10 months later! Original review: Great game. But they really need to add an option to sign into an existing account. The game wouldn't let me sign into my old account after accidently pressing the wrong button the first time after launching and it took Bethesda almost a week and numerous emails to fix this due to the horrific support and slow turnaround times.

The last update break the game and it is no longer playable on the phone that I have. Before the update everything was working fine with some small delay on the more draining visual effects. However now when anything animated have to happen. The game just freezes and crashes afterwards. Otherwise enjoyable game with a small twist on the old CCG formula.

Loved this game, until the most recent update. Worse graphics, sounds so bad I thought it was my speaker crapping out at first, and to top it off I can't play the actual game! Whenever I try to start a match, it just loads up the new table, but the cards never load! They add all that extra junk, and they leave the game behind.

I really enjoy the gameplay and mechanics of Elder scrolls Legends. However, I added a friend in able to play with them and duel, and the game became very glitchy and kept black screening, even causing the main menu to act up after closing the app and restarting it. If they would fix that problem the game would be perfect. Much better then other games like Hearthstone.
