The Enchanted Books

A great adventure game. Graphics are great for a game of it's type. The puzzles are just hard enough to be head scratching but not frustrating. The game took me several sessions to complete, so not a quick game which is great as a lot of games like this are over far too quickly. I see a few reviews that have said the game has malfunctioned for them but it didn't for me. I look forward to playing more games like this from the developer.

I played this game about a year ago and had it in my family library. When I installed it on my new tablet I was surprised to find that hints and the fast travel now require an in app purchase! They came with it in the old version and you could also choose to skip the nearly impossible puzzle at the light house. Disappointing! Otherwise it was an enjoyable game.

So close to 5 stars. Fantastic graphics & easy navigation, but it's impossible to play without hints & cheats. About half the puzzles deactivate once completed-- the other half do not which only serves as a confusing distraction. I'm pretty good at this game genre, but was annoyed by how many times I had to rely on a walk-thru video.

Love the games by Syntaxity! These are really solidly made games,I saw no glitches nor bugs. The art work was well done and imaginative, and the puzzles just the right amount of difficulty. If you can't figure something out, often you can work on a different part instead for awhile--it's not completely linear. I LIKE that, it adds to the complexity (sometimes you just haven't found the clue part anyway). Auto camera pics of clues is a great touch. Looking forward to playing more!

I'm glad I got the full version for free from a sale as this game has several flaws interfering with gameplay: 1. Plot too vague to tell what end goal is; 2. Puzzles seemingly arbitrary in execution; 3. Pixel hunt needed to find some items/clues; 4. Confusion from being able to zoom in on scenery related to already-solved puzzles; 5. Tedious navigation without paying for shortcut system. It's okay for what it is and the graphics look nice, but there are better games of this genre that are free.

This game reminds me a lot of an old pc game called MYST. It's just hard enough with its puzzles and clues to not let you blast through it without thinking, and just easy enough to not have to use a walkthrough the entire time. I love the atmosphere and theme of the game, very appealing and rich. Cant wait for more titles from this theme!

Very good mystery and puzzle solving game. Rather short though, and then, you just suddenly finish, no sense at all that you were drawing to a close in the first place, the game just suddenly tells you it's over, you've won, goodbye. Anyways, the kids and I enjoyed it. And we got it for free too, when they had a sale last month. Looking forward to playing more syntaxity games. For example, there is another one on sale right now, The Hunt for , that I'm downloading as I type. Yipee!

Nice looking puzzle / adventure in the vein of Myst, with nice non-annoying soundtrack. However, the puzzle design leaves a lot to be desired after: lots of puzzles come without clues (perhaps except the ones you can purchase ...hey, hang on a second!), requiring to brute force them. There is also no story that I can discern after making it through about 1/3 of the game, which doesn't help with the immersion. And by the way, there is a peculiarly positioned bug: the portal between the 3rd and 5th screens is one way; the only way to get back to screen 5 is by purchasing the Fast Travel IAP. Not cool.

Really entertaining game! The mini games are just hard enough to keep your interest, but not too hard to solve. The graphics are beautiful. The gameplay lets you wander around The Enchanted World searching for missing objects to solve a larger puzzle. I had a great time playing this game!

Mediocre game, the fact that there are many areas at once to be discovered and investigated is rather an annoyance. A very small amount of puzzles are decent, however the rest of the game runs on the premise that you keep going back and forth endlessly trying to figure out where to find the next clue for the solution of an easy puzzle. You will get stomped not knowing where to go next rather than getting stomped with a hard puzzle, as LITERALLY ALL puzzles have super clear clues.

The game was beautiful and some of the puzzles were very well designed. However, there were a few too many times that I was forced to guess which clue fit which puzzle. Any good escape-room-esque game should make it very clear what each item should be used for. For example, if the bowl had a picture of a fish, I would be more inclined to go and get a fish to put in it. I'm glad I got this game while it was on sale and didn't pay for it.

Absolutely loved this game from Syntaxity. Played a few of their other games and love their style of simple, clean well designed graphics. Gameplay is excellent, especially with the ease of getting around the map and with picking up objects. The hints and walkthroughs were also easy to use and very helpful. An overall great app for me.

I'm thankful for the hints without them it would be frustrating and very hard to remember where you last saw the place that you just now found and item for. Also it would be great if the camera clue would stay open in a corner some where so I wouldn't have to also use my phone camera.

Wow! Amazing game, this one probably took me the longest to complete out of all the games from this developer, challenging and fun. I think this one even has playability for me, because I was going back and forth, forgetting what I had done, all part of the fun in a point-and-click game. I loved the graphics, they are very clear and the storyline is great in this game. It really felt like I was exploring between different worlds.

Okay for a free game. they do try to sell you hints and fast travel. This developer makes all their games have a ton of going back and forth between places to try to get an extra 1.29 out of you, but even if you paid this still hurts the game design. pluses are no ads, most of the puzzles are decent

Excellent puzzle game. Clues and items are scattered throughout the game so you really have to search. Full of satisfying "Ah ha!" moments.

A puzzle-adventure game of very good technical quality. While I understand how hard can be to write a good story, I think this game fails here. Connection of story and clues between worlds does not make much sense, items have size proportionality issues and the overall flow does not appear very fluent to me. Perhaps attempt to connect such different worlds is too risky enterprise, which could easy fail. So far, this is my least-recommended game from this company - but I highly recommend others!

I enjoyed it. The solutions to the puzzles are all available within the game. You can spend money to make it easier, but it's not necessary to finish the game. Some items are hard to find, but that's what makes it a challenge. A lot of the items are used in simple ways but the way they're used is rarely obvious. And since it's a phone game, no great dexterity is required. It's well worth playing!

I love point and click adventures, but this one had some random, nonsensical type solutions for some puzzles with no hinting into how to get there. The quick transport can be somewhat circumnavigated if you just use the books to teleport (paying just to get through screen clicking seemed really silly). There's a lot of clues, some of which didn't disappear when they should have when I accidentally solved some puzzles without gathering all the clues first. Not the best, will pass your time.

Fun way to pass the time. Puzzles are reasonably challenging generally fun to solve (although there are a few that are pretty obscure). Hint system is useful without being too obvious.

It was a relaxing game. I got it free on sale, and purchased the hint videos that really helped when I was truly stuck. Not extremely difficult, but definitely fun and worth the price.

What an amazing game. Quite challenging but very enjoyable all the way through. A major flaw is in the glitches that sometimes occur. I clicked out the very last puzzle and could not finish the game, what a pity.
