The Game Of Life

The game of life is actually a cellular automaton devised by the mathematician John Horton Conway in 1970.It's sort of a virtual world where many cells are living. They reproduce and die under certain conditions. This game does not need the player itself (kind of zero-player game), but we can make it more interactive by adding special atterns that will evolve inspecific ways, or by changing the rules of the world, for instance.
The main features of my implementation are:

¤ Changing the speed¤ Changing the size of the world¤ Changing the colors:¤ Changing the shape of cells (11 available)¤ Become master of the world by changing the rules:
- 18 predefined rules
- Create your own rules¤ Library patterns (over 130):¤ Ability to rate for the best patterns¤ Ability to send patterns by email ¤ Create life or destroy it, simply by touching the screen!

More like the game of boredom!

those giving a bad review don't know what this 'game' is.

pretty cool id say

Very cool. The only improvement i can think of : when you adjust the view space dots will disappear permanently once they go off screen, which makes it hard to build more complex patterns. If there was a way to turn that setting off, that would make this five stars imo

Some things ought to be fixed : the evolution of the game shouldn't be influenced by the zoom level. The size of the grid should be fixed in advance (in settings for example). Also, it would be nice to be able to make time go even faster, which I think is computationally possible given the simplicity of the algorithm and the power of today's CPUs.

Only been playing it for about 10 minutes...it is really boring. Dont waste your time downloading it

It's funny how goddamn stupid people are. Looking at each of the low reviews, all of them are really stupid.

How do you use the size thing because its not working properly for me. Fix and I'll give 5*

Not much game play value thought... wish I could drop ships in

Wonderful yet easy to play , watch out how complexity arises from simple rules

there is a problem with full screen in horizontal mode, squares are not perfect squares in this mode.

But man was it nice to see an app that doesn't need to access everything on the phone to work

Learned about this game as a kid and played it on paper, which is difficult. Watching these patterns come to life is amazing.

It's great - the customization and interface are infinite and graceful. The torus world option is a huge plus. Tons of patterns. Is a little sticky. I wish it had a grid option, and a generation counter. But it has no ads, and is free. Easy 5 - fingers crossed for updates!

And a great thinking tool. Design the starting variables of your own universe and let it play out. You can zoom, pause, download popular universes and let them run, or change the rules. I could do none of that in the other app I tried.

This isn't actually a game, it's rather scientifical expirementation. It shows how something very complicated can come from something very simple.

also, the world gets cropped when zooming in and back out again. An "infinite" world (memory permitting) which can be zoomed into and out of and scrolled independently of the size setting would be nice

The zoom is terrible... But everything else it's just fine

Now the obnoxious ads are out.

tough combo!

Seems to be the best version as it allows for creating own rules and is also customizable in other ways.

What do you even do. You just keep taping on the dots. Its a waste of your time

Well implemented game of life. I would highly recommend it. Still room for improvements though
