Was fun but not a really good payoff once you complete it all. If there was more reward at the end it would have made it more extravagent. They also need to make a better fast travel system because having to look for what scene I was looking for made it very tedious. It might look satisfying seeing all the scene you've done all scattered to make it look more, but it gets annoying quick. Other than that I enjoyed it. Was 3 stars bc it wouldn't be worth if bought.
The game has been added onto so it's not as short, and fast travel is free, so ignore that from old reviews. While The Lost Ship is fun (got it on sale for free), it's not as good as Blackthorn Castle. Some puzzles, like the water pipe and card symbols, are designed poorly. Looking past that, though, there's plenty of good content, so not bad overall.
Quality puzzle-adventure. Fast travel and hint system are helpful, saving unnecessary effort and preventing to be stuck on missed detail. All puzzles and their hints are logical from the backwards point of view. It is easy to follow when items and puzzles are solved as soon as obtained. In such a case, the inventory does not have more than 2-4 items at any point - besides mandatory crowbar and fire ignition set.
Good example of the point and click puzzle/exploration genre. It's like a room escape game, but your "room" is two islands. In my mind, the difference between this and a "point & click adventure" is this game has no characters to meet, and no real narrative. The first version of this was quite short, but the expansion in the update really added some good content, and made it feel like the right length. The graphics and music are pleasant. Nice overall.
Very nice puzzle game. Graphics were detailed. Little to no storyline. Not in the league of the same types of games by companies who are included in Big Fish Games. I got to play the expanded version on sale. The puzzles were easily solvable by collecting the clues throughout the game. All up, a game to hold interest and finished in a few hours. Thanks developers, I will be awaiting any further expansions (as it seems the adventure is far from over) and happy to pay for the next installment.
awesome game - point and click controls remind me of Myst, but the puzzles are much easier to figure out, in that it's much clearer what each puzzle's controls do. it was a little disappointing that the solution for area 13 was so specific, but that was the only puzzle I had trouble with. it wasn't *easy*, but it was quite doable without hints. it just needs patience and a lot of back of and forth work. overall, an excellent game. keep up the good work, Syntaxity!
Love the puzzles and how you have to think hard to solve them, backtrack a lot, carefully inspect everything, because if you miss one tiny detail then it would be really hard. I was doing well at first but some puzzle were absurdly hard for me, I had to consult some walkthroughs, but after a few, I was able to finish it. Took me almost 1 hour or so. Really had fun playing this. So sad it was short.
A very good puzzle/escape game. Although the basic mechanic can be a bit frustrating at times (run from scene A to B, pickup object, go back to A, solve puzzle, get new object, run to C, solve other puzzle, get second object, go back to B, etc.). Half of the game is just running back and forth to find objects. I would say most puzzles in it range from easy to medium difficulty, with a few hard puzzles. Graphics are ok but the use of photographs feels strange, with strange perspectives at times.
Lovely game but really short, much shorter than the other Syntaxity games I've played, even with update and extra gameplay. I think this is the first game they released so maybe that's why. However, like the others, lovely scenes, relaxing music, simple controls. Lots of puzzles which I love. All of them logical and easy once you've found the relevant clue. If you want a relaxing puzzler to fill an hour or so, you'll enjoy this.
The game itself is pretty okay. Ish. Screen went black at one point and stopped responding to taps, so I had to reboot the app to get it working again, but no biggie. But. Half an hour to play through it? Really? Sure, it wasn't all that expensive, but even so I'd expected it to be a bit longer than that. Feels a bit like a let-down. Edit: With the extended gameplay it does feel better :) And the solutions weren't always quite as obvious as in the original part, which was nice. From 2* to 4.
A great game as one of syntaxity's earlier offerings. Having played through a few of the other games, the puzzles were quite familiar and the game seemed to be over quickly. Not as much having to walk and explore different areas of the map as some of their other games but still a top game. Would recommend as a first synaxity puzzle game to play.
Another syntaxity game I have really enjoyed. This one seemed very short and less of a thrill to get to the end so quickly. Update: The free expansion made the ending more fulfilling. Had to start over from the beginning, but that added to the completeness of the game as it had been a while that I have played this game and some puzzles were more tricky to solve. It's still an enjoyable game I can recommend.
I love these games. Props to the developer. Takes a great puzzle game to keep me interested and I can never put these down. This one is just the right level of difficulty I think, and the map is perfect size. Any bigger and you'd get fed up constantly navigating around forgetting where all the puzzles are. 5 stars!
Great game - got it for free in a sale. Worth five stars if the following are fixed - Around 5 visual glitches (negative colors, distorted backgrounds) - besides that the visuals look good and fit the game great. Some of the riddles were just "push a button" whilst other depended on you seeing something that - in my case through visual bugs - was hard if not impossible to see. Another thing that would be anoying for me if I paid for the app is that you have to pay for fast travel.
Good game, great graphics. Some of the puzzles were very easy, and some of the difficult ones had a "skip" button - which is good as I wasn't prepared to pay for hints... I still had to run around quite a bit trying to work out what I'd missed! I prefer these games where the whole area is available all (or at least most) of the time, rather than one room at a time.
Fun. There was one or two puzzles that were difficult to solve . The online walk thru didn't give a clear resolution of how the puzzles were solved. Felt like I was walking back and forth through the maps way more than I should, but guess that's how all these types are designed to do. I'm sure it's also bcs I don't remember details of maps too
syntaxity and fire maple are just my speed. simple graphic and inventory puzzles that test your memory a little but aren't too difficult or illogical. keeps my mind active but still allows me to relax. quite a bit of backtracking if you don't want to pay for fast travel. good variety of puzzles. pleasant art, music and sound effects.
mostly decent. there were a few puzzles where the clue didn't seem to quite match the solution so had to use the walkthrough. like all the games in this series, having to always go back and forth between a bunch of scenes hampers the gameplay. no ads which is nice - rating this as a free to play as it is available for free regularly.
I really like this game! The graphics (as usual) are SPECTACULAR and the music is calming ( it helps you focus ), but some puzzles I passed by luck for example the triangle shaped puzzle (you need to press the buttons on it so you can get the right pattern) it made me have a hard time then I gave up and searched for the solution on the internet. But overall it's a great game. Please keep on making more.
A few puzzles a real challenge. A new puzzle at every success. Scenes are excellent. A lot of fun on the puzzles without objectives. With patience, free all the way; but map is a real time saver. Love these developers. Point and Click : lives on !!!
Sintaxity games are amazing! Pity there are not more I would purchase all of them. Graphics are so realistic the puzzles are clever, I would say medium in difficulty - not so hard you lose heart and uninstall and not so easy the game is boring. I like the fact they DON'T ask for money during the game or every time you go to solve a puzzle you have to play some sort of competition game first. These guys are top of the range in game production.
This is a beautifully rendered world with puzzles that range from very simple to moderately challenging. Like their other adventure puzzles, if you get stuck you have probably overlooked an item. I tried the hints (for .99) and was pleased with their system. They tell you which screen you should go to but don't solve the puzzle for you.
The music and sfx are good. The environments and objects are beautifully rendered and look very realistic. The card suit puzzle is too tough and illogical for me. Otherwise, the game is good. I turned on Android's built-in Accessibility feature, Magnify with triple-tap, so I can enjoy the objects and scenes close-up.
Nice game... to be honest the puzzles were not challenging enough for someone looking for a real challenge... much of it could be solved by just repetitive persistent clicking and fidling around as opposed to deduction and lots was obvious. I finished the game in under a few hours so not exactly worth the cost. SPOILER: The one that got me was the loose floorboard in the ship. (I was not willing to pay an additional cost for hints, imho the hints should be part of the game cost).
