The Mushroom Book is an easy to use app that has a unique design which will make your device even more beautiful. The included descriptions of mushrooms are concise what make them easy to assume without unnecessary information that you will never need.
The content have been validated by mycologists who also suggested which photos should be picked. All that to help you enjoy the walks in the forests and protect the enviroment from unneccesary devastation of mushrooms that are not edible or are protected by law.
The app has an Identify Tool in which you can choose from a variety of visual and other characteristic features and thus reduce the list of mushroom species matching the criteria. This can be useful when we find a fungi specie we don't know. To identify a specie all you need to do is move the tiles with a drawing of mushroom characteristic features and then press the crosshair. As a result you will obtain a list of matching fungi species!

Very useful, but I would like to see more information on the properies of certain mushrooms and for the search tab to include species and their descriptions.
Would have rated it higher but the description didn't have spore print colors which would have put this app on top of a lot of apps that are free.
It's pretty good but it is missing quite an amount of mushrooms like an ink cap ect ect and the identifier isn't great but kinda works
Few mushrooms, laggy and non-intuitive controls.
what does the thumbs down mean, cant eat ? and it doesn't tell you if you should cook the mushroom before or qiuck description on how to prepare it and its missing many mushroom types !
It's a great start. But I see nothing of the mushroom that goes by "hen of the woods" or "lobster of the woods" if you can please add as they are quite edible. Thanks.
Is useful needs a little more information. Using the identity finder can be confusing.

My family is picking up mushrooms for generations and my knowledge trust me is very good and this app description on some of the mushrooms is not accurate and state some of the mushrooms edible and they not. For example honey mushrooms they need to be boil first before frying cos they contain toxin what can make you indigestion. Second mushroom is fly agaric this mushroom is not poisonous it's simply an edible after a several ways to cook is fully edible and I rest my case
The illustrations and style are amazing. It's not super accurate but I do find it helpful.
It doesn't really work on my latest android. When I try to identify it just sends me to the main menu and if I go for all information just crashes and closes.
As above plus its a well made app, but it would be great if there was the option the remove ads
The pictures are very nice and clear. I wish you could zoom in. I couldn't figure out how to get the identify to work. Developer messaged me back about it. Great work.
At the university fungi was difficult. Just plain hard. But this app makes ID fun and helps in finding edible shrooms. Thank You for this very informati app.

When i try to identify it's not working.
Wish it had: where in the country it is most likely to be found; more info regarding what happens when you try to break the stem ie does it snap?, is it woody? stringy? etc. I'm new to mushrooming and need lots of help. Thanks for the hand up.
Many mushroom apps I've downloaded in the past have a very short list, but this one is well compiled. My only real complaint is that only a few of the poisonous ones tell you what it does when you injest it, and I don't mean if it's halluinogenic, because I don't care about that. I'm an artist truly interested in the mortality of humans and the suffering we can endure from our poor choices. Other than that, I love it!
Nice looking app but full screen ads pop up during use. And yes I'd rather pay to have no ads.
The identify tool doesn't work and is very limited on feedback for giving suggestions. Any combination I put in said no results. Plus there are very important things that should be added to the identify tool such as spore print color. Plus the lack of many species in the app makes me doubt it's accuracy. Just asking for shape of mushroom, if it has gills and if it has a universal veil or a partial is not enough to correctly identify a mushroom.
Very Useful! I use this all the time for our yard. We live in a very humid climate, and get a lot of mushrooms around our trash bins, and where our dog goes. I have yet to try it out in the wilderness, but for the city, it has been a huge help. Thanks!!
Identify doesn't work at all and that's what I needed an app for so I uninstalled it straight away.
Gorgeous graphics, 81 different species, clear photos and identifiers...but freezes at every ad.
Need to be able to flip through pictures. Would be nice to tap on similar and go there
Crashes on my Google Pixel as soon as I try to run it. Edit: just reinstalled; still crashes immediately. To developer: if there's something I can do to help troubleshoot, let me know; I'm always looking for good mushroom apps.
