Push notifications setting seems to have no effect. Had to block notifications from app to keep the chirping off. Otherwise, content is good, ads not too intrusive. Slow to update stories every time you hit home page and e-edition options and features are an unfinished mystery.

Not an app, a digital copy of the printed paper. It never really worked well, and now they've blocked it. I MIGHT be willing to pay something for a real app, but I'm not going to subscribe to the paper, because I don't want a newspaper. Fortunately there are other sources for local news.

Don't know why there are a spread of harsh complaints about small things like loading articles. Just reload the program... This is the advocate for free! NOLA is a penury. (They did a goos job with ten year anniversary of Katrina but not much else in the last three years.) Adv. is the only news we get in this city that is revealing, all the things you need from a paper, including Living details. No complaints from me.

This app keeps crashing and I have to uninstall and reinstall. Cannot view obits. Keeps shutting down. One of the worst apps I have ever used. Come on Big John. Get this fixed.

I opened the app to check the news. 5 of the first 7 stories were sports...LSU, Tulane, Babycakes. No real journalism here.

Stories and interface nice, but when opened all that appears is a black screen that freezes and does not want to close. I haven't been able to use the app successfully in over a month and thought this update would solve the problem but apparently it hasn't.

Your app design needs work! It constantly closes when trying to open an article. Please fix it, I'm tired of only getting info from NOLA and their race-baiting columnists.

Great news app, very informative!

The only thing this app is good for is scrolling through the headlines of top stories to figure out what you want to go to the website to read. Try to do anything more than this and it crashes. Finally had to just delete it and stop wasting my time.

Always enjoyed until after "the" update. I uninstalled it because after the update it wouldn't even work.

The last update makes this pretty much unusable. For some reason clicking on push notifications takes you to a full size version of the newspaper and then the App crashes when you try to switch back to a more mobile friendly view. I want to read the advocate but this app seems to be designed to prevent that from happening.

Installed required update. Crahes as soon as you try to select an article.

I was happy with the previous version. The current update wants access to my phone number, whether I'm on the phone, etc. I don't understand why the app needs that info and I'm not comfortable sharing it.

The app is easy to maneuver around and feature great stories. Never any bugs, free flowing app!

I moved out of state and few months ago and this is a great way for me to stay in touch with the news back home
