The Old Republic™ Security Key

It worked fine until SWtoR decided to switch the number of numbers in the security key from 6 to 8. And you might wonder what the problem with that is. THE APP WASN'T UPDATED. So I was locked out of my account desperately entering one security key after another and beeing repeteadly denied access. One time passwords may be annoying as ****, but at least they're reliable. Uninstalling and deactivating activating security key on my account.

It would not let me sign in when I entered my serial number in. I kept trying, and trying, but it would not let me in to my security key. If you could sign in with you account username and password, it would be much easier. Since I have recently lost my old phone which had it on there before, I could sign in on my new phone. It would make the app much more easier to navigate across from phone to phone and make it much more easy to get into. My sanity drains everytime It doesn't work. Please fix this developers!

Not the first one - been offline for years and finally got on again. Tried to activate the Mobile Security Key - and the app says it is not compatible with the latest Android (I run Android 12) and requires a security key to start. So, I log into my account to active - where the website says it should have an information button to display your security key to link the account to the app. This becomes a catch 22 that makes it invalid! Please, update the app and make it workable again! <3

Great app, I love to have more advanced security on my games, so adding this made sense. So far, I haven't encountered any problems, of course the UI is dated but this doesn't bother me. While you have this security key attached to your SWTOR account, you get a free monthly Cartel coin grant (100 per month). This is a great bonus. There's also no ads, so you aren't distracted while trying to log in. Overall, I'd definitely recommend.

Needs Updated! Please take the time to update this app so it works better with new android devices. It says that the app was last updated back in 2015. That is 7 years without an update. With the game still as popular as what it is, the developer should spend time to fix this application before people just quit playing the game because they do not have access. This is an amazing game! Love the update, and everyone should be able to experience all the fun, including myself! Thank you, Keith

I've had to have a password sent to my email 4 friggen times now each time I log into my online account to setup my security key and I still don't have it yet!!!!! This is a complete waste of time either simply it or get rid of it this is beyond ridiculous!!!!

Spent $2,000+ on this game. I had linked my account to EA back when it was required. I cannot reset my password or get a temp security login sent to my email so I can set this up again. I have the same phone that I used initially to set this up back when I played full time. Fully locked out until I can talk to someone in person. It would be nice if there was a chat option or something similar to solve these issue, instead of waiting for when your open for business.

Devs please fix.

Always works never had a problem except about 2 years ago all I remember it was resolved in a phone call in less than 15 mins. But still it keeps saying it was done for earlier version of this android when I reinstall. We need renewal or update, please. And there is no serial number on app. You have to use the app and email for taking it off and put it in a new device. Someone already said this before me(Scott Brooks) so I'm just confirming it. Enjoy the game.

First, I want to say that I'm giving it 2 stars(instead of 1) because the app is good. I'm not complaining about the app. I just want to say that the 7.0 update ruined the combat disciplines and changed a lot of things connected to that for the worse, not to mention a lot of abilities (passive and active) disappearing and the game getting harder.

WRITE DOWN YOUR SERIAL NUMBER! After a Google update messed up my system I had to do a factory reset on my phone and when I re-downloaded the app it asked for the serial number. To get to the serial number I was asked to log into my account on the website, but the login on the website demands I give a security key which I can't access without the serial number in the first place! Not sure why this is no longer being supported but I got a warning message from my phone saying this app was designed for an older version of the Android OS. Except they connect a very useful vendor to it still so that's the only way to access certain companions customization through ONE vendor in the entire game.

WRITE DOWN YOUR SERIAL NUMBER during the activation process! When you are logged into your SWTOR account, when you're about to add the app to your account & activate it, you'll be given a serial number. WRITE IT DOWN then and there! Because it will never be visible again, never! If you uninstall the app, you'll need it when you re-install the app, otherwise you will have to waste time jumping through one-time password email-waiting game hoops just to remove the authenticator app from your account. Why the devs/EA neglects to warn users about this is beyond me! They should tell you during the activation process that you should save that serial number, warning you that you will only ever see that SN one time, that it can never ever be recovered/seen at any other point in time! **Don't pay attention to older forum posts online that tell you that the SN is visible within the app's "information" menu option... because in 2021, there IS NO such menu! There is only "settings"... which does nothing but provide you with links to various EA webpages, like FAQ's and EULA, which open in a web browser.... but there is nothing in there about the serial number. Seriously, why is it so difficult to warn users that they should save that SN, that which is only visible at one single brief moment in time?

I downloaded this app in hopes of getting a security key, but i don't have a serial number so i can't get one, the description in the jpeg images shows a icon on the top right hand corner of the app were you can choose settings and preferences and GET YOUR KEY! it is not there on mine. How will you fix this so I may acquire a Security key?

cannot add security key. it doesn't pop up just keeps telling me to activate it. have tried both through the browser and my phone. I only want the stupid security shop. Just turned off my game due to the frustration of messing with this for 40 minutes.

The app does not work properly. Spent 40 mo utes trying to figure out what was wrong with my login info only do find (by chance, from a completemy dofferent soirce) that the issue lies with the authenticator app not giving you the proper amount of numbers. Will refrain from spending any more money on the game until this gets resolved. Cheers.

HOW TO USE S-KEY This confused me at first & there's no real clear instructions, incl. the FAQ site. If anyone's having trouble: 1- Setup your first key, through the app, using the serial number provided by the verification email. 2- You have to use the app every time you login to the site or the launcher. Whatever key is currently displayed on the app is the key you enter, meaning the key will be different every time. You can also remove the key by using the site, no need to contact support.

This is very frustrating!! I can't log into my account because I cannot get a code- the app won't accept my serial number and this run around between go to SWTOR and EA that just sends you to the other to report the issue is maddening. Either the app needs to work so I can get the code to log in, or someone needs to help me.. OR give me my damn money back!

I used to play at progression level with several NA firsts with my clan. I played as a Powertech and also loved the PVP. SO when I saw it on steam I got excited and tried getting back into my old account,.Everything went well until I tried to log in and was asked for a security key that was set up on a phone that was stolen years ago. I didnt have my digital serial number as gmail only saved for so many years it seems. I go to read forums and apparantly the only way to fix this is to sub. Now I probably would have subbed but if this is the way things are done now then no thank you - Ill go back to WoW or GW2.

No clear instructions on where users are supposed to get code to set up app, could not find requested serial number in my account at all. App recognizes numbers 8 and 9 as illegal characters, which seems highly unlikely.

Why aren't you updating the app I've just bought a new phone and it won't let me connect too my account properly because the version of my phone is too new for the app so can you update it, it's been 7 years...

Very barebones with providing the bare minimum of functionality. Having no backup method is a massive pain. Just use any other authenticator app instead as it will still work and be loads betrer then this.

If I could rate this zero stars, I would.The code changes way too fast, which isn't even nessecart, then once I've set up a code, The site doesn't recognize the code. This app needs serious fixes, and it doesn't look like EA is gonna make said fixes, to summarize, don't waste your time, or sanity, with this app.

This hasn't been updated in 7 years, and does not function properly on newer revisions of Android. Avoid if at all possible.

This works perfectly like any other authenticator. What you actually have to do is go through "My Acccount" on the SWTOR website and go to the left side if the page and click "Security Key", re-validate your email, go through that process, and then go back to the Security Key page and then go from there where it only then has clear instructions at that point.

Awful awful awful. I went through the annoyingly painstaking process many many many many times only for it to tell me that the security key that it gives me is incorrect. I've done it multiple times now, program must be bugged.

Sturdy, reliable, & secure. It's also become much easier to re-sync the app with the account when switching phones than it used to be, which is greatly appreciated.

It's a security key. It does what it says. Plus having it active gives you premium currency in the Old Republic monthly, which has been useful in unlocking a lot of things.

Works fine even with old version warning.... Gotta say you idiots.... It's so hard. Uhm go-to swtor site, fail login, new screen asking for security key. Right under the text entry box "lost your security key?" Send one time code to email... So hard so hard that I think we'll all be better off if you don't continue to play. The universe will be a better place
