I'm a digital only subscriber and while it's not perfect, the app works fine. I logged in, browsed around a bit, and then opened the pinch-and-zoom eEdition. The content is easy enough to navigate and read in both formats, and, IMHO, neither is excessive with respect to ads. No search, but not a deal breaker for me.

Needs a search function. Editions more than a week old wont load. So much for finding that really well written, informative & insightful article i read last... june? Shoot i cant remember. If only there was a way to look. Support your local journalism.

Don't like the new eEdition. Pop up ads must go, can't read the paper full screen because of the ads taking up the left side of the screen. I want to read the Olympian just as I would with my delivered paper, no ads. Changes to the eEdition took away options for page layout, cropping, and printing. This is what happens to a local newspaper when Corporate Big-Wigs get ahold of it and all they see are $$$$ for them.

Not working on S10+. Pissed off. Pay good $ for digital access. Fix it or will cancel.

Trash.... ALL I WANTED FROM this rag was to see obits from August 2021. Obits were the ONLY thing I could ONLY see by subscribing NOT to the Olympian, but to a 3rd Party vendor. Who needs the Olympian? Not me, because the only thing that hits on every screen is a piece of d'Gov'nahs play book of exclusive POLITICAL science

I have had so many unnecessary frustrations with this app my blood is at a light boil writing this.

Kor. F. Sep 4, 2019

I read the news here every day for the last several years and now they want me to pay, will never download this app again

Lin. K. Jan 8, 2022

I can't even get the app site to open up.

The Olympian has NOT been helpful getting the app to load automatically daily in my email as it did the first few months. They are VERY dissorganized, we're unable to fix and no one even tried to called me back...but they still take my $$'s. VERY disappointed.

The Daily "O" app works well! Navigation and organization is not difficult, the ads do not intrude excessively ( no more than average for free apps!), so this is a very useful way to get some local news at no cost, and should encourage some users to commit to a paid subscription. The hard-working journalists supplying crucial content deserve some support.

It lets me view some things then says i need a subscription. I can't stand that. Makes me mad.

A. G. u. Feb 20, 2018

Despite having a paying subscription, the app interrupts, requires a log-on and then always says log-on unsuccessful. Phone and email resets always zero out with no resolution.

Good app for getting news in Olympia Washington.

Thanks .

This app was great at first. I loved being able to see what was going on in my town. I was okay with seeing an ad every minute or two, because I know they need to make something off of this free app. Now they require you to have a subscription to the Olympian to even use the app. It's not enough making money from ads, now they want you to pay them too. This app is pretty much useless now to 90% of the people that used it most likely. You guys really screwed this one up.

It is nice to read about the top stories in town and be able to watch videos when available. Being able to see whats being talked about is always nice.

I like the app. An ad free version and would be nice.

Takes time to become familiar with the app. but, print ver. is just like reading the paper in hardcopy.

Not updated as fast as I would like but overall a quality app.

Kin. E. Jul 18, 2016

If i could give it zero stars i would. Shouldnt need to create an account (just to receive loads of ads) and log in for one or two news items a day. Not called locally 'the daily zero' locally without good reason.

Big fan of quick and free news. Ads are part of the game.

Den. G. Mar 29, 2016

Each update brings it closer to being a first class app

Ron. R. Mar 26, 2016

Not very recent news most days, but ok.

Tod. T. Aug 29, 2015

Well, there is news but it is old. There are new articles under old ones. Why is this not like the iPad app? Update: Thanks for fixing the date order, now the newest news is above the old news. There still isn't all the news as the print version. No letters to the editor, no comics, no Classified, missing stories. The iPad app is 5+ stars, it is complete and accurate. Why no Android version similar? Update: there has been a lot of improvements this summer and now a tablet version like the iPad. Nice job.

Worth a glance at times not worth paying for though poor writing/editing

Simple and effective. There seems to be a limit to how many views you get without a paid subscription though.
