Really needs an actual alarm not just a notification for time and temp events. Perhaps with a built in buzzer or let me pick an MP3 to play when there is an event. Then I could give the app permission to ignore do not disturb and be woken up at night when the fire goes out or runs away. update: charting fails completely if you have a connection issue at any time. temp alerts do not work consistently. the usefulness of this app is pretty much gone.
The application has a log of functionality. The only problem I've seen since I got a new android OS is the application has errors trying to export data so I will need to find a new application until it gets fixed
Needs updates. No longer works after phones go to sleep and throws warnings when you open it. Used to be good heading for great.
So they make an app that's pretty weak and just launches a web browser to control my pit, then they want cash to get features. No thanks.
👎 idk why they even have a free version
Works really well. You can store a lot of data on your cooks. Integrates with bbqguru very well. My only issue is you that the trends are hard to read and I do not see a way to adjust. It would be nice if you could Change setting and set point on the guru as well.
Way too complicated. The good is that after poking at the various settings I managed to connect it to my stoker and it displays the temperatures. The bad is that the app is horribly complicated and the UI is sloppy. For example, there's a menu button (three dots) at the bottom of the stoker config page that does nothing and one can drag the button around the page. The app also doesn't pick-up the names of the sensors that are configured into the stoker. Overall I just want something that lets me configure the target temps, that shows a chart of the cook, and that can alert me when certain levels are reached. But to get there I have to spend more effort on entering useless data into the app than it takes to prep the BBQ in the first place. I would have paid for a full version if the free one looked good, but it doesn't.
The app works well overall, but the interface is not always clear and I have accidentally backed out of my cook and had to start over more than once. The data views are not great but that's a minor issue for me.
Crappy interface. Wants you to upgrade to pro to get connected to controller. Developer should at least think about an hour trial to make sure it even works. Won't work outside your own lan. Just a bad app all around.
Initially I had a lot of issues with this App. After some updates, the last few tests and uses have been without issues. It could be better with some pre set settings for pits and foods but over all it is working well.
Love the wifi capability but think the interface is clunky and the charts are nearly useless for my 50 year old eyes ...
Great app. Integrates with BBQ Guru hardware and if you configure everything correctly, allows you to control your temps from anywhere.
Seems to work quite well with the Cyberq WiFi. Even works with a user name/password for remote use since you have to open the CyberQ up to the Internet. Money well spent!
There's a little bit of a learning curve, and the interface isn't very intuitive. However, it's the best controller out there and the level of detail you can record in this app is second to none.
Issues with Stoker II. It connects they the wi-fi, but won't show the probe temps. I can access the html page thru the app, and make changes to temps, and alarms, otherwise the app is useless. Without the temp probes showing up on the app, it just records the time of the cook.
The graphing features give a good visual of your BBQ progress. Most features generally work well.
Not bad but amateurish. Some things are not intuitive to use.
Nice control of my BBQ Guru. Graphs are hard to read but helpful.
I have a stoker set up on my computer but this app never sees it even though I have the right IP address I can't make it work and that directions are atrocious find something else
It doesn't show any data from my white stoker on the wireless network even though I can see everything over the web interface at the same ip address
Gives me an archive of all my cooks. Useful in adding consistency In future cooks.
It's ok but could use a easier way to take notes.
Awesome, especially saving all your cook info
For BBQ guru, Fan output % on a second y axis would be nice (and output % alerts). Also, chart needs to scale with zoom, values are nearly unreadable. More detailed documentation of options would be helpful to new users. A UX update/refresh would make it a bit more pleasing to the eyes. Overall the functionality has been reliable and much appreciated.
