Well... It typically takes several minutes to download the daily paper. Once it does, the text is not always legible (particularly the comics) and looks like it doesn't fully download, and then the app freezes, making it necessary to start the process over. I would really like to know what's going on locally as well as support the PD. I like the layout (looks like a newspaper), but I'm not excited about this app.
Lately app has been very slow to load. It also logs your subscription out frequently, causing one to hunt up one's password at inconvenient times. Just lowered to 1 star as app will not load anymore. Edit: still doesn't remain logged in. I no longer use the app to read the PD. It's also useless for my spouse to access. I wish the developer would have some comment. EDIT: the app just asked for a review. Update: still keeps logging you out. This may be on purpose, but it's super annoying.
Repeatedly tells me I've run out of free articles and to sign in. Why can't it remember me after I log in? I subscribe, but it can't seem to give me the access I pay for. Don't make it so hard! The Wash Post always recognizes me. Yeah, I can go look up the login info somewhere, again.
The app is really good! Easy to read and the layout is intuitive. Also, very informative news articles in Sonoma County.
Does not work. All I see is the big PD logo, which is the same as the icon. No data load. However the newspaper is wonderful. So just subscribe to the Press Democrat and read it online. Skip the app for now.
Works great, no bugs, easy navigation and quick access to favorite pages
Would really enjoy this app, except it seems as if I have to re-enter my credentials every time I want to read an article. Other members I've talked to say this happens to them too. As a paying member, this is getting really annoying.
Easy to read and navigate through various articles. I like being able to get the latest news alerts sent to my phone automatically.
After reading a handful of articles, it won't let me read more articles. It's says log in for access but doesn't tell me how to get a username and password. Annoying
I like the local news, but I've received notification of the same article about five times. It's not even in Top Stories any more.
I was going to cancel my subscription. Then I found the app and I'm going to keep it. Apps help me sift through the garbage and find out about my local issues.
Like the updated information. I only have wifi in the house so this app is great for keeping me updated on local news.
The perfect way to get your local news! I really liked that the app pushed updates during the fires!
The Press Democrat is the best north bay information available. The Obituaries are horribly overpriced but the rest of the paper is great.
Great ability to select notifications combined with first rate coverage.
Was having trouble accessing Alerts & when started using PD App all fell into place. Works well!
Great daily newspaper. Helps stay informed
Long time subscriber. This app is great and is updated through the day.
Got info regarding the power shutdown which appears to be the most current. Thank you!!!
Excellent coverage of our local news.
Been using during the fires to watch the news . Terrific.
Good app...but I still miss the paper copy
Terrible. It will not open
solid presentation of solid local content
I really appreciate your app keeps me very well informed ove what's going on back home
It helps you when symptoms are running in the Background!!
Very easy access to news
I want to support the local REAL news!!!
A trusted source of national and regional news.
I loved the version of the app I had on my old phone. I was able to choose how to view the paper, and I chose the view that was like reading the print version. I could scan headlines, zoom in to read a little or see a picture better, or click on articles I wanted to read thoroughly. The app I just downloaded onto my new phone didn't give me a choice. I miss the many "sidebar" columns that don't show up in the headlines, the news briefs, opportunities for volunteering, those shorts of things.
