The app needs an update BADLY! Others have stated the same thing that has happened to me. You can barely listen to 10mins of actual live show content without it cutting off to buffer, kicking you completely off, giving error msgs, or going for the most longest commercial breaks that erase or cut into air time. This madness has to stop! Update or delete the app. I deleted the app from my phone, waste of space.
Having an app for a show is a great idea, but this app seems to not work correctly. When the stream starts it plays for a little while but then a connection ever happens randomly. Then it tries to reset and then send the message that it can't connect. I often have to shut the app down and reboot the app for it to work again just to have a connection error.
This app does not work very well. It freezes often & I have to delete the entire app & reinstall ( Probably why it has high download #s). Small town radio stations upload their eposodes as podcasts so fans can listen any time after the show airs. I feel that a syndicated show such as this one can definitely afford to do better with its app functionality. Most of the reviews on this app are complaints, so it is interesting to me that there hasn't been any meaningful attempts to fix it.
Buffering is horrible! I can only listen for a few minutes before it stops. It does matter which network I'm on. This App needs some technical improvements.
I just use I heart now, frustrating trying to listen and it goes in and out. Very inconsistent. Commercials always play fine, the show on the other hand buffers, goes out and requires a restarting.
Constantly buffering with 5 bars of service. Not consistent. When it starts playing again, the program has skipped or is playing yet another commercial.
*Update* to my previous comment from May 2020. The app hasn't gotten any better. Back in May the app lagged for minutes. Since then no one has fixed the app. It's still lagging. There are far more commercials to the point where you miss most of the show along with far more music breaks. You barely get to hear Rickey and his morning crew. They should may a podcast so we can hear the actual show and be able to go back and listen to what we've missed.
After installing, I opened the app and it played commercials for 20 minutes straight. I thought I was going to hear the morning show like I used to in my car every morning when I opened the app...needless to say, im very disappointed and im uninstalling. I wish yall would just go back on the radio so I can listen to your show like I used to without installing an app. -Signed A very loyal and disappointed fan 😭 in Columbus, Ohio
Has to be the worst app. Like others have said, app freezes and on some days nothing plays. Funny thing, this didn't start with Rickey's show. This is the same thing that happened when Tom Joyner was on air. I like the show but it's quite embarrassing that a nationally syndicated show can't work out the kinks so people can enjoy the show without issues.
What's the point of having an app for a podcast if it doesn't really work? You be better off on a platform like iheart radio. The show is not in my market and would love to listen if the app actually worked. Otherwise I'm stuck with trying to catch it live in the morning on an online app that works.
Where I live in Lawrenceville GA, the Radio signal for Classics 102.9 is weak. So, the Rickey Smiley Show App allows me to listen to their program/segment. Unfortunately, the App has several flaws & errors. The App cuts in & out causing U to miss certain parts of the Rickey Smiley Morning show. The App also Freezes alot, forcing you to completely Uninstall it, then Reinstall the App. When the Walmart commercial about Summer savings on Food comes on, it plays 4 times repeatedly. App Freezes alot.
This app is always freezing and cutting out. As soon as it get to a section that I actually want to hear, the app will freeze or start buffering. By the time it resume the section has ended or on commercial break.
After installing new app when listening it continuously just stops multiple times during the show and you have to press play again and when you do that it never starts where you left off it skips way ahead to something else by then. Old app was way better
App constantly freezes...I thought it was my service but after all this time it's definitely time to fix the issues with this app. I've had it for 2 years and it hasn't changed.
I absolutely love the rickey smiley morning show, but this app is trash! I constantly have to uninstall and install again. There's so many issues with it loading and cutting off right in the middle of the show!
App has stopped working completely on 9/1! It will not play anything other than the add when it first comes on! I have Uninstalled and re-installed, nothing works! This app always have issues! DO BETTER!
Buffers a lot or plays for a few minutes and just stops. Sometimes it just plays a long loop of commercials over and over again. Really needs work.
It takes way too long to get the app to actually work. It will buffer then give a message saying that it can't load. I prefer the app because I start listening first thing in the morning and the show has become a serious part of my day. Please Please PLEASE FIX THE APP!!!
Why doesn't he put his podcast on an app that actually works?!! I keep hoping that one they would fix the issues but it hasn't worked for years. I can't listen to the show. Its sad because I can't get the show in my market and he chose buggy and weak app for his solution.
This app need a update, it cuts in and out, it's annoying, I'm bout to stop listening unfortunately due to that reason, I don't have time to keep opening the app every couple of mins
I love The Rickey Smiley Morning Show and unfortunately the only way I can listen is thru the app now and this app is terrible it stops every 30 seconds and I get frustrated after awhile and just close it 😠
This app suck but i love the live radio. The app just stops abruptly and shuts off. The audio is not great, it definitely needs work ASAP.
I didn't get past the User Privacy Agreement.It asked for permissions I will never give including access to ALL my phone data,control & usage, usernames&passwords. The policy states that I take full responsiblity for my personal information including security breaches.How can I be responsible if I agree to give access, contol &usage of my personal information to strangers. Since I refused to click accept I was immediately kicked out the app. Thanks for website access.No permissions required.
Wanting access to manage calls to pause for call reception during broadcast should have an "allow only while using app " option. This is the only reason for one star.
This app annually messes up! Seems like every Tues or Weds this app doesn't works because of connectivity issues ! Every other app similar like iheart, time in , you name it works . But this app is garbage!
Crashes all the time. Doesn't keep up with broadcast and all around horrible app. I've uninstalled and reinstalled this app multiple times.
Constantly freezing and for the last two days there has been nothing but commercials then dead air. Looking at the reviews I see all complaints are basically the same but nothing has been done. Why????? They don't even have the courtesy to even respond to the listeners complaints
I've had this app for over a year and listen to it while at work but for the past 2 weeks I've been unable to open it. I tried re installing it today and it's still not working. 😞
The sound on the app keeps stopping after 20 or 30 minutes. Please fix it. It's starting to become irritating.
Love the show the app just sucks!!!The audio cuts out, rewinds, and skips. It's very hard to enjoy the show when you're not getting consistent audio. I downloaded this app because the radio station app connection was horrible. Now it seems to be consistent on any streaming platform.
