Absolutely wonderful game! The visuals are shockingly gorgeous for a mobile game, and it plays so smoothly. The super subtle storytelling adds a layer of building anticipation and suspense as you work through the puzzles. The music adds the perfect odd ambiance to the whole thing, and the clues are just enough to help you along without breaking the immersion. If you really don't like spooky stuff, just play it without the music. There are one or two sound cues you might miss, so use the clues.
Amazing puzzle game! The in-game hints are just enough to point in the right direction without giving too much away. The puzzles are clever and thematically cohesive. The graphics are lovely. The sound design is perfect. The only negative is a very small one: sometimes the controls can take some finessing and a delicate touch to get right - but doable and not enough of a negative to reduce the overall rating. 5 Stars!
Completely different to what I normally play, but what a game or should I say Puzzle, can't put it down, everything works perfectly you have to think outside of the box, hints are helpful without giving a complete answer. You guys have come up with a cracking game and only for the princely sum of 99p. Will investigate more of your games. Now back to the game!
All of the room games are nothing short of brilliant. The graphics are amazing, the vibe is chilling and the music is equally as good! Been going back to play them over again for years 🤣 would highly recommend to anyone who likes this type of stuff. Thank you so much for giving us a game that isn't absolutely swatted by ads and can enjoy the experience 🖤🖤🖤🖤
I love engaging puzzles and this has some of the best. A great mix of easy and difficult puzzles, with a pretty engaging storyline, and elegant visuals/animations. My only suggestion would be to balance the world lighting. Because the in-game light is one directional, I have to turn my screen brightness all the way up to see the shadowy sides of the objects. Overall it's a stunning series and it's at a great price too!
Beautiful game. One reviewer used the word "elegant" - perfect word. At this point in my play, it seems like "The Box" would be a more appropriate title, but maybe the room aspect comes later. Discovering the intricacies of the box is fascinating. The puzzles are interesting too. With the nature of the control, sometimes it takes a few tries to get things to happen, but overall, well worth paying for- if only to experience the brilliance of the thought put into it!
This is one of my favourite games of all time. I love how satisfying it is to solve each part of the boxes. And as a long time fan of escape-type games, I really appreciate how streamlined and uncluttered this game is. There's no long-winded narrations, no excess items in your inventory, no distractions from the puzzle right in front of you. The only downside of this game is that the graphics are a bit fuzzy on any screen larger than a phone, but there's an HD version available on Steam anyway.
Very well done visually and in terms of atmosphere. Most puzzles are fairly straightforward, some required use of hints (some aren't very apparent). Played through the game in one sitting because the levels kind of chain together. Only suggestion to the creative team is to let the player know the gyroscope is used in the game & I wish it was longer. For the price, I would recommend it.
If you like puzzle games with dark and ominous undertones, I'd highly recommend this game. Thoughout the game you will find journal notes of a character who documented his discoveries and progress. This gives the game a little bit of a story line and makes it that much more interesting to follow along. The game is quite short though. I completed the whole thing within 24 hours by just playing it when I had free time. But it's worth every cent.
Usually I don't play mobile games, because the gap between mobile and pc is huge.. But this one is very good. Very interesting and intriguing gameplay and the story. It's very unlike other mobile games - you don't have many clicking elements, focus drawers and all that. This is more about atmosphere and storytelling. It's hard to make a puzzle so that it feels like you solve it with your head.. but this game made step aside of that, and is more about paying attention. Definitely worth trying!
Thought the game had great atmosphere, enjoyed the little hints of story littered throughout, but I personally found it a little too easy and way too short. Considering it was only $1, that's not that bad. However, I feel since this is the first in a series, it should have been free as a better hook. Now I'm just nervous about buying the others. The prices only increase and I have no way of knowing if the game length increases with it. $5 for the same game length would be much too expensive.
Wow is all I can say. A really cool eery story backdrop that's vague and mysterious but not so much so that it's annoying. Great interactive puzzle boxes you could only dream of owning (because well the tech doesn't exist). Game could not be any better, seriously. If you like puzzles or specifically puzzle boxes like me, download it now. It won't dissapoint.
I love the puzzles and all but the one I can't get past is the moving gears, no matter how many times I press the button to stop them from moving it keeps going the second I let go, please someone help me, I've seen a pc version where you just hit the button and it stops with no need to hold it down, please someone help Edit: never mind I figured it out by using one finger to hold the button while another to get the item
Beautifully immersive experience. Some of the puzzles are tricky and require you to try lots of things beyond a point and click... Wish it were a little brighter as my screen is quite dark. Thank you to the development team for a wonderful game
I love this game... too much. I can't stop playing. I enjoy the puzzles, the challenges, the guesswork. It's difficult enough for it to be a challenge but not so hard that you want to give up. Each chapter seems to be slightly more trickier. And the next best thing about this game is no ads. None! Well worth a dollar. I will buy another from this creator. Thank you for such a beautifully graphic and puzzling fun game.
Pretty but irritating. Camera controls are a constant aggravation, instead of freelook, you can pan around and zoom in ONLY on specific things, very cumbersome. Everything takes three or four attempts to swipe or tap *just so* - to the point that I needed a hint to tell me to go back and try something I'd already checked multiple times because it just didn't register. I imagine this is a nice point & click game with a mouse, but two chapters in and my headache is only getting worse.
Interesting game. Cool time waster. Two issues with the game: It's a bit hard to see the details because the game is so dark and shadowy at times. My eyes got really tired playing the game. The second issue is that controls are a bit awkward, making it difficult to analyze parts of the puzzles. 3.5 stars
Usually I am noy terribly into these types of games but I have actually been thoroughly been enjoying myself with "The Room." The puzzles are challenging enough to keep it interesting without being so complicated that you give up ot lose interest. The story is intriguing if you choose to follow it. I definitely understand the hype!
Lovely puzzle, very much "13 ghosts" if you've seen the film. An option to mute the (subtle) music would have been nice, and having to churn through chapter one again after installing to another device was tedious, please sync progress via Google games. Beautiful graphics, crisp audio, and incredibly smooth gameplay, 99p! I'm buying the sequel immediately
I have played several mystery type puzzle games...but this is by far the most awesome game ever. From just reading the reviews and watching the video, I purchased it right away. OMG! The 3D graphics and the way you maneuver around the box it amazing! The game is quite challenging.... I may have to walk away from it for a bit cuz I'm stuck...but when I go back I figure the next step or find a missing piece. I absolutely love it! Cant wait to play the other games. Hats Off to the Developers. 👍
An enjoyable game. The puzzles remind me of (for you old timers) The 7th Guest. Of course, this game is quite a bit shorter, but that's a good thing. The imaging is a bit dark, but cranking the tablet's backlight all the way up compensated for the atmospheric lighting. For the price it proved a good value, and gave me something to do for an afternoon.
Great graphics and sound really create an atmosphere. Enjoyable but far too easy. I'd hesitate to even call them puzzles. There's rarely even the slightest question of what needs to be done next in order to progress. Even without clicking the hints, the game holds your hand with comments like 'Where might this fit?' or 'This appears to be missing something.' Would have been a lot more fun and rewarding if it was more challenging.
Can't recommend this entire series enough. I got #3 with a discount code, so I played 3-1-2. It is so good, I may eventually get a headset and play the VR game. Perfect balance of challenging, but doable, especially with hints. I am a casual gamer that does not like to be frustrated when playing a game. This first game is quite short - like a proof of concept experiment. It only took 1-2 hours. Really worth the money, it is such a great experience. Subsequent games get longer.
This game ruined free puzzle games for me. I was so used to the ad-riddled, repertetive and/or often nonsensical puzzles you find in free games until I decided to see if the paid option was worth the cost. I had never before played a mobile game with nearly as much atmosphere but here it was, I'd almost dare call it the perfect puzzle game if the later games in the series hadn't managed to somehow surpass it and all other previous entries. To the creators, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Yep, not much bad to say about this one. This game is a level of sophistication above most others of this genre. The sound effects and music created a nice suspense/creepy vibe, the puzzles were varied, interesting and challenging, and it was visually stunning. There were two minor issues worth mentioning. Firstly, there is a point where you pick up a gear and place it into a mechanism. I found that if I restart the game, I could pick up that same gear again, even though it wasn't visually present. I could then place it into the mechanism, on top of the previous one. Secondly, I accidentally hit the Hint button twice. I'd prefer if it were laid out differently to make that less likely. These are minor issues, however, and do not detract from the game at all. Just an awesome game.
It amazes me how "The Room" games are so old yet still best sellers. Fireproof must have been way ahead of their time and/or have updated the games over the years. Graphics and realism are tremendous. Problem solutions range from easy to challenging, but not so much so as to cause frustration. I'm now on "The Room 2" and it gets even better.
This an amazing puzzle story game! The graphics are incredible the controls are smooth enough to really immerse yourself in the game. I find myself unable to put the game down until I finish a chapter. The puzzles are challenging enough to keep you thinking but not so impossible that you need a walkthrough to progress. All in all best puzzle/escape game I've played
This is an absolutely beautiful game to play, that will have you lost in the intricacies of stunning puzzles and boxes with incredibly immersive graphics. The hints are perfect without giving away the solutions which is really nice in a game. The story is interesting and it has just the right amount of creepiness. I enjoyed it so much I bought every puzzle in the series. My only regret is that there aren't more games!!
This is a superb game. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible, while the hints give you just enough help if you need it. The graphics are very nice, although I sometimes find the scenes a bit under-lit. I have played the first three installments of the series on two different phones without experiencing any glitches. I've never paid for an android game, but I've decided the new episode of The Room is worth buying.
