I actually purchased this book. This is a sequel to the first Superlatives book. The story introduces a handful of new characters and a whole new world right from the beginning of the story. There is a lot of politics in this with factions vying against one another. My only complaint would be there were times where the narrative moved slower than I'd like it to and the romance was under developed. Those who like more political adventures with meaningful stats this is for you.
The demo kept me entertained, so I paid for the full version, but I sorta regret it. The NPCs are flat and not interesting as friends, much less romances. The story also dragged on a lot, so I began just picking random options about 3/4s in, since I wasn't very invested. This is a stark contrast to how great the first book's NPCs and romances were when I tried it out after finishing this one (I didn't initially realize this is the sequel...I'm unobservant af lol). I'm pretty disappointed.
great story definitely on par if not slightly above the first my only problem is i missed my powers and didnt like having to rearrange the resonance constantly. also, seeing my team from the first game would have been great didnt see but 2 from last game. please keep future stories more superlative oriented. the conclave was cool but an unnecessary plot point. i think that my character could have handled things as a superlative with his team, but i understand due to the treaty stuff.
Immensely enjoyed this one. With one possible caveat, imo: it works best as a standalone game, sharing the Superlatives setting. When restoring a save, certain things (relationship flow, your former team unavailability) didn't make a lot of sense to me. Plus the tone of story overall felt different, with superhero theme moved to background, which to me was more of a positive. Great work!
I really dig the first instalment and have been excited to sequel. I think the story itself is good, given the world building and interplanetary story. However, the new characters are not as appealing as the first one. I was expecting a continuation of MC's story that I build in the first instalment. This is like a spin-off that I get from another perspective.
It's a little different to the other choice-based novel games. Mostly in the way how characters perceive and feel about you. Nevertheless, aside from little hiccups to the plot and gameplay I have found myself greatly entertained and am satisfied with the overall game. I thank everyone involved in creating and releasing his novel game :)
What's the point of loading a save game if you don't have any of the same people? I wanted the continuation I was led to believe I was getting. Overall, disappointing, felt like recycled ideas and uninspired new characters.
The story was well thought-out and immediately brought me in but also had inexplicably amazing writing that got me attached to the characters in a way that I never thought possible. The choices that were given were clear and explicit while also giving an aura of mystery
Very good story, felt rushed a tad bit but enjoyed it through and through. Wish the romances were more in depth. Interested in a third installment. Really would make a good foundation for maybe a Netflix series or something.
Not as immersive as Aetherfall but still a wonderful story to play through. The characters weren't as well developed as in the first story but were still well crafted and intriguing. Overall an enjoyable sequel.
Absolutely incredible story and phenomenal writing. Alice Ripley, the author, has become one of my favorite writers now because of this story and prequel, The Superlatives. The stories are engrossing, the writing intelligent and almost reminiscent of Buffy or something Joss Whedon-esque. I only wish the author has a social media presence. Can't wait for more from her!
I only played the first 2 chapters but this sequel is a huge disappointment due to 2 reasons. The 1st is the pay wall after the first two chapters. Its a sequel. The reader of a series should only have to pay once, and certainly not $5 for a product that should be free to begin with. I suggest a price tag of no more than 99 cents. The 2nd reason is it should've been a continuation of the character role and the society in the 1st book with a new mission in the aftermath of the 1st book's ending.
Well... it's good enough, I suppose, but not as good as I'd have hoped, after the first entry made such a good impression on me. The newer characters aren't as compelling or believable as the last batch were, and I found that the plot is, although interesting enough to keep me reading, nothing to write home about. 4 stars.
i enjoyed it. it was fun and interesting and i liked the new characters, they are well written and developed. i was a bit saddened by the fact i didn't get to see much of characters from the first installment. still it was a great game and well written story.
This was great sequel and I loved that I could import my character and choices from the first game. There was even a few polyamorous romance options in this one which was welcome. I'd love to see more in this series.
ive been having difficulty progressing forward in the story and sent multiple reports. i know it takes a while to fix this but until then my rating stands.
It didn't feel like I was continuing the first game , it was like I was playing a different game....Had great expectations but I'm dissatisfied/disappointed.
As much as I hate to say this, I'm a little disappointed with this one. The politics was way much more than necessary and there were not many fights or appearances of Dusk. Its well but not like the previous one.
i was hoping that this would be the continuation of the first part but when i see its doesn't i was disappointed and the character isn't play any important part like in the first one soo... I hate to say this but 2 🌟
Another engaging establishment to Superlatives' universe, can be played as a stand-alone or another more political adventure for MC from first book. Don't hope for too much cameo of previous acquintances, tho.
well,at least 2 stars for the effort that you put into this but i honestly dislike this one. I really like the first one and was hoping for this to be a continuation, but no,this is a completely new one which is boring to be honest
I don't know why, but this novel feels kind of lacking something. I played this game without playing its prequel. Still, it's good enough to be played as a stand-alone game. I wonder how it will turn out if I imported a character from the previous game?
It's a fine story, but I can't help but feel it's a bad sequel. Very few connections from the original story remain.
great story, be sure to play the superlatives: ather falls first for the full experience
I liked the first game, this one leaned too much on politics. The characters weren't that interesting imo
I was expecting to read about the characters from the first game. What happened to hugh or dusk or even jane, whomever you chose as a love interest in the previous game??
Good sequel. Lots of adventure. Definitely worth the money.
fun and interesting maybe a third book would help keep it entertaining
More of a standalone than a direct sequel, but still well done
I really liked both this & Aetherfall. I enjoyed continuing the romance from the 1st book, & it was fun to encounter my previous team at various points. Yet this is a different story that takes your character in a new direction & gives a deeper view into the very original world-building. Getting to know the new characters was fun, but it seems I have more to discover there. My only critique is that the author may have tried to weave too many threads, leaving less space for relationship growth.
