The Talos Principle is a first-person puzzle game in the tradition of philosophical science fiction. One of the most critically acclaimed PC games in 2014, The Talos Principle is now available on select Android devices.

As if awakening from a deep sleep, you find yourself in a strange, contradictory world of ancient ruins and advanced technology. Tasked by your creator with solving a series of increasingly complex puzzles, you must decide whether to have faith or to ask the difficult questions: Who are you? What is your purpose? And what are you going to do about it?

FEATURES:
• Overcome more than 120 immersive puzzles in a stunning world.
• Divert drones, manipulate laser beams and even replicate time to prove your worth
- or to find a way out.
• Explore a story about humanity, technology and civilization. Uncover clues, devise theories, and make up your own mind.
• Choose your own path through the game's non-linear world, solving puzzles your way.
• But remember: choices have consequences and somebody's always watching you.

Got it since it was on sale for $0.99, and just echoing what Benjamin McLean said, but for me it NEVER seemed to make an Talos.ini file in "/[Where your stuff is stored]/Android/data/com.devolver.Talos/files/" even though it had storage permission. So I made one in notepad with just(no quote marks or space: "gfx_strAPI = "VLK";" And copied it there via the "Shield's transfer files over local network" option. Seriously, if you can bother putting it on sale, you can bother fixing this simple issue. Even more so when very few devices support it....

Alexander Ramsay, thank you! Editing the Talos.ini file works, however its worth copying it to another folder-editing it and then using the new file to copy over the old one, otherwise the changes don't take effect. Croteam should be on top of this but there are so few Talos android users that they just wait for you to contact them..

Crashes to Android home screen every time I try to run it on Nvidia Shield. Can't even see a splash screen. How do I get a refund? Paying for an app that does literally nothing is a bit aggrevating.

Good game and all, but it doesn't work on the shield tablet anymore when using touch.

For those on Nvidia Shield TV, to get this to work, Go to: /sdcard/Android/data/com.devolver.Talos/files/Talos.ini Change the line containing: gfx_strAPI = "OpenGL"; to this: gfx_strAPI = "VLK"; Then it should work.

I own this on PC and PS4. Absolutely AMAZING game! I just had to pick it up when I seen it for Android. I'm running this on a Google pixel C tablet with Android Oreo 8.1 and it runs fine. The benchmark gave me an FPS of 27. There are loads of graphical options to tweak so you can adjust if your device is not running this smoothly. This is a fantastic port IMO

I originally got the first "episode" thinking it was the full game on sale, and was disappointed that it wasn't. I eventually got the full game on Steam for cheaper than in the Play Store, so I forgot about this. But now they removed In-App Purchases, so I own the full game! It plays pretty well considering its age, and looks decent(on a K1). I would definitely recommend, especially if you like the Portal games. But note that the PC version is way better visually.

Decided to re download this to find the in app purchases are gone! When I first purchased this I didn't realise I had to buy the rest of the game with the in app purchases which put me off the game. So glad I can play the full game. Now its worth the 5 star rating :)

Purchased it, but keep getting license verification failed. I am connected to the Internet and I did purchase it. Fix this please.

At first it took a few tries to get the game running but it works well now. My main issue is that I bought this game (the first episode) and you can buy the rest of it in app for 5 dollars and episode or 15 for the whole thing. But on the play store you can buy the full game for 10. I wish I had just bought that and not waisted my money with this version

So I can't play on a tablet and be truly mobile, love the game on the PC, the tablet. Its ironic, the tablet was design to be mobile but you can't do nothing whit out the internet because of the DRM they put on games. The game is old now, let it loose a bit. And there a bunch of game found on pc and are on the android, that let you play offline.

Just re-downloading again, looking forward to loosing the weekend again in this world, even having beat it the first time, I love jumping back in and starting over. *** First off, casual puzzle gamer here. Bought this weeks ago and just now started it, before I knew it 4+ hours had passed. (nvidia shield tablet & controller) Great graphics, very few stutters, controls are logical and respond well. The story line and soundtrack are involving and moody, definitely like it, especially realizing just how large of a world it is. That makes up for the price. I did not see the extra cost of $15-25 more to finish the game, but, after a few hours I'm so addicted to it, I'm all in.

Upon launching the game on my Nvidia Shield, all I see is a black screen. Considering getting a refund unless someone can tell me how to fix it. It's a shame because the game looks cool. EDIT: I emailed the developers as you suggested but have not gotten a reply. I am uninstalling.

I like it but its so annoying to play with keyboard and mouse, the mouse works (kind of!) but moves the arrow on screen at same time! and when the arrow gets to the far left or right of screen it wont work anymore inless you move mouse back in opposite direction!! I know the gamepad works ok but i'm used to playing with keyboard and mouse and playing with the gamepad is so annoying!!! If this is fixed will be 5 star!!

I've played this game on PC and now decided to try it on Android. And it seems like a perfect port of a very interesting game. I know that developers had to cut some corners in terms of graphics (it is a mobile device port so to speak), but it is not very noticeable. Picture in the game is still very stylish and sleek. And there were no cuts in terms of gameplay which is the most important thing for me personally.

This is episode 1 of 6. When you get to the point that you need a connector to continue that's the end of the episode. You can buy each item individually at 4.99 each for another episode or buy all for 14.99 in the game. Runs great on Shield K1 tablet, but uses a lot of resources and is very demanding on your battery.
