Just like Zombies run, this is a half baked app. I looked at it after I downloaded it and it seemed fine. I opened it to use today and it said I had finished 30 minutes, but had 0 items. There was an arrow at a fork in the road, which I can turn left or right. I managed to play the first few audio bits, but none of them showed completely played. It does not show the 20 minutes that I walked today. I give it a second star because it let me play more than one audio clip, unlike Zombies.

This app gives a little extra to look forward to when going for a walk (particularly a long walk). So i paid my subscription and gave it a go. It's nice to look at, easy to navigate, and the story is well acted, intriguing, and I really wanted to follow it. But it just doesn't work consistently. I start a chapter, all seems fine, finish my walk to discover I haven't actually moved. I've walked 74km this month, and managed to complete 4 chapters. (Google fit, maps, strava, etc. all work fine)

Most underrated app ever. The story is fantastic. Downside is I have to restart every time I reset my phone or buy a new one. Been working at this for years and haven't gotten to the ending yet. Did I mention that the story is fantastic? It's also great to relisten to episodes after progressing through the story - every time I pick up new hints and clues I missed the last time around. You can sort of solve puzzles if you pay attention. Couldn't recommend this app more highly.

I think this app is seriously under rated. Captivating story from the start, it is a wonderful way to get 'rewarded' for activity. I would have liked it of one could 'pause' mid mission. I find that when I drive, it adds 'activity' that I didn't earn. When i 'abandoned' the mission to try and prevent it, I had to do everything all over again. But, regardless of that it is a super app.

Very good, with a few annoying details. The first is probably a bug: I paid for a year of the Abel's Running Club, and it sometimes forgets. It doesn't log me out of Zombie Link, it just stops recognizing that I'm already a member, and pressing restore purchases doesn't help. The second: the episodes are listed in order, but it doesn't bookmark your progress, so everybtime you open the app, you have to scroll to find where you are, and there are >50 chapters. Otherwise amazing.

I love the idea of this game and have been a loyal subscriber to zombie run for years. But I'm having pretty bad issues being signed out, out told I don't have subscriber access. Happening a lot in the middle of episodes, which is annoying. (New) Additionally, the latest episode I'm on just stopped tracing my steps. I tried restarting the episode, but the prompt continues to say the same amount of time is required for completion, and I've had it running with me all day, on my person. Plz reply!

My experience was generally good. The story is very interesting and compelling, with a few twists that I didn't see coming. Only 4 stars though for a few reasons: 1) You need to interrupt your walks to get the collectibles or they disappear from the screen, and you need to redo it to find them 2) After you finish an episode or challenge, the app doesn't always register it, and you get a notice when you try to start a new one 3) It doesn't seem to register slow or short walks well

A great story that is superbly voice acted, this app gave me all the motivation I needed to keep walking day after day, just to discover what happens next. Unfortunately, the app is plagued by technical issues, like how progress in an episode will very often stop updating, forcing you to restart it (despite following the developer instructions to avoid this). The only reason I'm not giving this 2 or 3 stars is because the story is so dang good.

I, like many others, am here from the Zombies, Run! world (which you don't have to run btw). I listened to this podcast but thought it would be fun to do it the way it was intended. What's cool is that they corrected the negatives to create the awesome ZR we love. If this could be incorporated into the ZR app, that would be great. I do like seeing what's collected immediately and being able to relisten to clips during the mission. Just wish you didn't need eyes on screen all the time or 2 hrs.

A good idea but impractical to use. Walk to collect the sound clips that make up the story. Unfortunately the app can't play over music and requires screen unlock and tap each time. Certain sections need you to have your phone out and on (to choose a route). Wish it would play automatically over music. Lost interest very quickly. Not worth the money.

I'm not a fan of the subscription model pricing, though the experience of the app does seem better than when I tried this a few years ago (though not sure if that's is solely due to app development or because I have a nicer phone now). I really like the storyline, but I wish the episodes were shorter/easier to fully complete. The motivation to get the next story piece is zeroed out when I don't have the greater part of an hour to dedicate to it.

Wasted potential. After technical issues and frustration, I loved the first half dozen or so episodes. Unfortunately, the app had an identity crisis (after locking in my subscription, of course) after those first few episodes - the walk lengths shot up until they were ridiculously long, even for an athletic 30-something. Then technical issues returned for unknown reasons; I've had to reinstall 3 times now, losing all my progress each time. Badly coded bait-and-switch.

The actors in this are very goid. The app is titled "free" but after 4 episodes you have to pay. The monthly fee is too high for me considering I can just buy an audio book for a lot less. The other problem is it's time based not distanced based so it doesn't push you to to progres in your training. I'd prefer an ad supported version than a subscription based one.

Have this going same time as using Zombies, Run! so I get both in at same time. Has issues when I go to start new episode, saying I didn't finish last episode, when I did. Walks are consistently 60+min and you can't change how long they are. Sometimes if you have another app open and this one running in background, when you open Walk again, most collectibles for that episode are gone, and have to redo entire episode to get again. Also, have to manually click audio clips for them to play.

The story is good. I paid for the subscription. My main complaint is that i can't adjust the time of each chapter to the length of my walk. The chapters are consistently over an hour. It would be nicer if I could set my walk time to what I want, and then the story clip play times could adjust. I never know how long the chapter will be, the times are inconsistent. Why? This seems like a simple programmimg fix. If it changes so I can set my walk time, I'll rate it 5 stars.

Compelling story, terrible implementation. Episodes are too long to complete in a lunch break, being generally about 90 mins, yet progress is rarely remembered. The app either progresses in the background even when closed, or completely stalls meaning the episode has to be restarted. I'd love to know how the story plays out but I've lost the will to battle with this mess of an app.

I still enjoy this app, but as the most expensive app purchase I expect it to work better than freebies. I've had to restart episodes if I haven't finished it under a timeframe or switch between wifi (on/off and 4G). Sometimes the episode never resets, locking up at the last point I walked to during a reset, even if I continue, for several minutes even a half hour. I've had to skip ahead 4 episodes for this glitch. Still fun & motivational but not sure I'd recommend it to anyone looking to buy

I live this concept but sometimes the UX is frustrating. For example, you can't do an episode twice to get all the stuff. And when moving to a new episode, it always tell you that the most recent episode is incomplete, even if when you open the episode, it says that is complete. There isn't a good FAQ to answer these issues either.

Bri. t. L. Mar 18, 2021

The game is fun with a good storyline, but they should be more transparent about it. It should more accurately be called a free trial, as you're only allowed to play 4 episodes before it requires a monthly subscription. I found this frankly rather descriptive and am not a fan. I would buy a reasonably priced flat-fee version but I don't do subscription models.

Sar. N. Apr 17, 2020

I can't download any episodes after the ones that come pre-loaded. I'm subscribed to the Runner's Club via the Zombies, Run legacy option, but this app doesn't recognize that membership so I even tried paying for the regular version in this app to see if that would work. It didn't, so I already cancelled the renewal for next month. It's a real shame; without these bugs I would have given it a 5 star rating. Especially in this time of lockdown, I was really hoping for good things from this app.

Adds some fun to my walking days. Good for slow walks when it is easy to check device frequently to gather items. Would benefit from an "auto collect" for items and "auto play" option for hands free walking without frequent phone checks/battery drain. I recommend the subscription option for almost endless possiblities in this walking app and walking in the Zombies, RUN! app. Great stories and entertainment!
