Love the old school simple graphics - reminded me of early King's Quest. Game play was great - not too easy, not too hard. I liked the hint arrows - helps to speed up game play to not be endlessly clicking around. Did need to use game hints a few times. The fountain tunnel got to be a bit tedious though. Would be nice to be able to save more than two games, especially considering there is a time limit.
I see too many low reviews here complaining that they cannot progress in the game and pick some items, and they concluded that it must be because of bugs in the game. I haven't encountered any bugs. If you cannot pick up some item or enter into some places, that means you should unlock/uncover other puzzles and pieces before you can take that item or enter a certain place. Do take time to "talk" to people you encounter, because every interaction gives clues on next steps. Excellent game
Could've been great. The story is engaging, graphics are beautiful, but the gameplay and controls need work. Some objectives aren't clear at all and after a while it seems that it's done intentionally so you'd use hints. The worst part is that some items aren't usable until you progress further in the story. It just forces your to wander through the whole island to see if some doors have unlocked or if you can pick up anything that you weren't able to before so the story can progress.
This is one of the most phenomenal free games I have ever played. The 8-bit graphics and smooth animations are stunning; the storyline is incredibly engaging and unique; the multiple-ending style allows the game to be played over and over. Ads are entirely non-intrusive. Occasionally, the controls don't function or misfunction, but not enough to be bothered.
Beautifully presented pixel-art point and click style game. Sadly the actual look of the game makes it horrible to play as it's rarely obvious when you can move from one screen to the next, so instead of trying to solve actual puzzles you spend most of your time randomly tapping around to see if any part of the screen will compel your character to actually move to a different section or not; it's mind-boggling how bad a design it is from that stand point. This isn't helped by the fact that there's a clock in-game and people will move around as the night progresses so often-time a given house isn't accessible because the occupant is asleep or out wandering around. All this together means you spend most of the game just repeatedly moving around this small town tapping on doors or random bits of scenery to see if it'll do anything it didn't do a few minutes beforehand. Which can get stuffed. I got the quickest and most obvious ending of the seven that are available and uninstalled it. A shame that something with this much potential has been hamstrung by poor basic design.
It's great! Very fun and all the graphics are great even though it's only pixels. A great story and has a thrilling gameplay. The only problems are that, 1: When I reached the end of research, I couldn't access any hints. I went to a walkthrough, but mine didnt have the same things, even though I followed through. It made it impossible to win 2: You can't skip through talking. I know there is a speed up button, but when there is dialogue that I already know, I can't skip it. Overall, it's great
When I got stuck, I like the option of watching ads for clues on the next step. Plus there are multiple endings so I played it a few times, and my achievements, unlocked characters, steps, etc carry over from each play. I like how there was a time limit so playing it multiple times got me different endings and I was able to speed through the first part a lot faster.
A really interesting adventure. Occasionally I was very lost, though, because the game a from a few common adventure problems. Sometimes the next objective is not very clear. Listening to other characters can help, but I had to use hints too often for my liking. Some actions are also only unlocked once you have made enough progress. This is really frustrating because it's is the first issue. You just don't know that you now need that item you've been walking past a bunch of times.
My new favorite game. It does start a bit slow, and that's part of the charm and story development (at least for me). The task hints are helpful in structuring the gameplay so you're not running around willy-nilly and wasting time. Overall, it's a beautifully crafted story with amazing detail and complexity, delivered with the fun and engaging format of a classic point and click adventure game. Bonus points for the very aesthetically pleasing pixel art. Great job!
The Witches Isle is a very interesting, story based adventure game. It has multiple different endings and achievements, so it has good replay value. You don't have to pay for anything to complete the game. The pixelated graphics give the game a mysterious asthetic. It is honestly one of the best story based adventure games I've played on mobile. I haven't noticed any bugs, glitches, or lag. In case you didn't know, you don't need an internet connection to play.
It's a good one Good story line, picks your brains, don't think anyone can complete without the hints. Controls are decent but a bit sloppy at a few places. Definitely a game worth playing. Different endings make it more interesting!
Nice, atmospheric music, but the graphics are very poor. Gameplay is just tedious. You tap to move your character, and nothing happens. Tap a few more times in the same sort of area and finally it will move there. There are some places where your character goes behind some of the scenery, often for quite some time. Combine this with the unresponsive movement controls and you begin to wonder whether you will ever see it again. The game has potential, but really needs work on the user interface.
They did a great work with the art, the music and of course the story. But the puzzles are kind of odd. Not enough hints, the up and down inside the island is getting tiring and you don't have a button to skip some dialogues, especially after you try the game for an alternative ending than the one you already got.
One of the most fantastic point & click adventure games on Android. The immersive, atmospheric pixel art graphic is rich & stunning; the story is engaging. The game offers many classic RPG elements & its multiple endings give replay value. My only complaint is that it's not long enough! It's completely free too, which bewilders me. Don't forget to donate to the dev if you enjoy this game.
This game is a nice puzzle adventure game to play, with some nice graphics and a cool storyline, just a few annoyances I wanted to point out... ADS, it's annoying to have to see them everytime you continue the game after pausing, plus, this has also been bothering me a bit... There was one part of the game where I had to get certain item, but because there was only one in-game hour left, I decided to get a hint: "Get [ITEM] (from a house)." What house!? I had searched every single house I knew and I still wasn't able to get the item I needed, and I only had 15 more in-game minutes before time's up. Please be more informative with your tasks!
This used to be a fun game, but now the ads are extremely intrusive; can't switch between Islanders without having my game interrupted, and you can't even do anything with them, they're just for watching the game idle. Impossible puzzles that require extreme waiting to unlock, unable to pick up items when you see them, no indications of unlocked paths until you're right on top of them. It's too time consuming and no longer fun
A good game with an interesting story, I may install again at some point. slightly annoying controls for moving about but soon got used to it. Only finished two endings "sad" and "normal" I would probably have tried another ending if it wasn't just repeating everything I had just done. Seems a bit tedious just repeating everything. It would be nice to have the option of restarting just before the previous ending or maybe checkpoints.
I loved this game! I love games with a goal or finish and this ones time limit factor upped the ante. The multiple endings are a plus too, because you can replay with other goals in mind. Literally the only thing I'd like to see change is the game be placed in a more 3D world. I hope there's a sequel coming-out or another game by the same developers.
I love the 8-bit style and the graphics are absolutely beautiful. The story is really interesting but gets a bit confusing at the end, it took me awhile to fully understand. Sometimes the controls can be a bit frustrating because you have to tap over & over. But I love that all the items are useful & aren't just 1 time use. I also kinda wish the clock was in real time but it didn't take away from the experience.
It starts with a eerie vibe, but as you go on it gets more interesting plot-wise. For the usual gamer it may not be that fun, but if you're looking for something with interesting and not too time consuming plotline this would be it. Talking about navigating around the game, I did experience some glitches around the lake which slowed the whole area down and the secret ending took too much ram to actually load and immediately shut down while playing on a low spec phone, which was a major bummer.
Story, graphics and music were really nice and made the game feel really good but one thing made me too not give the last star: why the hell this game is SO slow?? After reaching the first ending (which I suppose was the 3rd bad ending) it was kinda painful to play game again as some dialogues wouldn't go away fast but overall a really nice and unique game
This game was so fun. If you ever get stuck there are plenty of youtube tutorials, but I prefer to do it on my own. Its free, but there are no adds unless you want hints. There are also multiple endings, so you can keep playing even after comlpeting the game!
An amazing game with beautiful pixel graphics, background music and sounds. It shines on the efforts the developer(s) have put into it's mechanics. The only issue I found is sometimes the foreground elements like buildings or trees block the view of the main character. The experience would be better if they turn translucent when the are infront of the main character.
Very pretty, compelling story... but it was difficult to get through. I like puzzles but it was too specific and frustrating. Ads unlock hints, but they are vague - usually things I had already figured out the general step for, and hints from reading character speech were more like misdirects. I was frustrated doing steps over and over and still not getting it right, having to watch walkthroughs just to get acces to the area I knew I needed - I wanted it to be more fun. Not the game for me. : (
I love it so much. The story and the art style are very unique. Gameplay is very interesting as well. I have played a lot of point and click adventure pixelated games, and I would definitely put this one among the top 3. Touch mechanics are quite buggy though, sometimes my tap wouldn't register. Either way, I would rate 6 stars if I could. Thanks devs!
Beautiful, just absolutely beautiful. I don't usually make reviews, but this game definitely deserves it. The art style is utterly stunning, from character design to, especially, the backgrounds and landscapes. The pixel art style is charming, and fits the gameplay beautifully. The story line is entertaining, and I actually found myself immersed in the story. Which is amazing, considering the fact that this is a MOBILE GAME. It actually feels like a professional indie PC game. A sure must-try.
Amazing game! Beautiful old school graphic like the olden gaming days, great story with a twist, gameplay is also fun with its interchangeable chara perspectives. A con for me would be the ad that pops up when you close the menu window (to view items, characters lists, etc). Ads popping up in order to get a hint is fine but since you hv to constantly open up the menu window to check on things, the ad showing up after that becomes annoying very fast 🤦♀️
