As a long-time subscriber to Writing Magazine, this great App is a brilliant companion. There is plenty to help the writer on their journey and I particularly like being able to choose categories which will ensure I see the aspects of writing most important to me. There is something interesting to see each time I log on so it's firmly attached to my home page.
you have to pay to read the content and this page doesnt tell you that. you can't look at anything properly without paying. it's fair enough as it's from the magazine but state this on the page rather than just saying "in app purchases" the entire content in a purchase
I'm only using the free version, so I can't access the articles, but it's been pretty good so far. I can still use it to help me as a writer, they've got a good list of competitions, opportunities and ideas for you to look at.
It's utterly ridiculous that I have to pay for articles when I already pay monthly for the magazine, I thought that this would be a nice app to gain some inspiration from but it's nearly unusable without paying.
I really want to like the app. I enjoy the magazine and was hoping the app would be an easy way to keep abreast of comps. But it appears they are always out of date.
Being new to The Writer's App I am still finding my feet but so far so good; I have discovered a variety of items of interest.
Straightforward app. Clear and easy to use.

The genre search function doesn't work. Loathe to pay £4.99 per month for an app that doesn't perform a rather basic function. This might be really useful but it's impossible to tell before paying. As a brand new app you need to allow users to try it out properly before extracting payment, not because we are wary of the source but because we need to be sure that the app itself is a useful and fully searchable presentation of the information we can access otherwise in hardcopy.
