I'm a new user and absolutely love the desktop app. On the other hand, saying the Android app lags behind is an understatement: frequent crashes when pasting links, annoying syncing in the foreground while editing, help menu not working. Overall lacking too many features of the desktop app. Would be nice to see some improvements in the near future.
The app does what it should and the interface is - I guess - as user-friendly as it can be. With the cloud feature one can keep the brains in sync with their desktop copies. The half-breaking missing feature for me is the inability to remove auto-capitalizing at thought creation (forcing me to edit all the thoughts when I'm back at the desktop). This discourages me from creating thoughts on mobile and so from using the app entirely. Looking forward the inclusion of such a simple option.
Great idea, needs work. I've used the desktop version for a few years, very pleased with it. Installed the mobile version, had two Brains on it yesterday, today there's nothing. It doesn't respond very quickly, which runs counter to the tagline. Unfortunate, since this has so much potential.
The first mindmapping tool I have ever seen, that I can seriously recommend. Simple look, simple workflows. Connect anything and keep focus. After using this for a while, I have to point out that not having proper previews of any attached images or other types of attachments severely reduces the usability of this tool. This affects TheBrain on all platforms.
I'm a long time Brain user. I'm using The Brain app on a Samsung TAB S6 Lite. It would be nice if the app could be updated to match the capabilities of the desktop app. My primary complaint is that the search function doesn't work, crashes the app every time! It sometimes crashes during sync as well.
I love the desktop app. Finding it very intuitive, user friendly and is helping me organise my life. However, the mobile app is limited. I can't find a way to get brainbox extension for Chrome on mobile? Also it keeps getting stuck on 80 percent while syncing to the cloud.
I've used the PC Brain on & off for over 12 years. Dev has a long history of angering his users -- years; closed mind, no interest in improving of fixing things, very poor communication skills. He has hired better people for comms now, but beware that frustration lies ahead for most users who've spent countless hours setting up a brain only to hit the wall with a horrible design or bug. BTW, tho the Brain is hard to learn at first, the Help link is broken in this app. Some things never change.
I've been using this for years on the desktop. TheBrain app takes mind mapping software to a whole new level. It allows for relating one thought or idea to many thoughts, allowing one to explore and see nonlinear relationships in ways not possible with other mind mapping apps.
Crashes when editing notes. Also missing basic features, such as adding a link to the thought on mobile. Please fix this app finally! As I can understand you are developing features, a life organization app that keeps crashing is UNACCEPTABLE.
I really want to support this product. But after the latest update, I can no longer see images on my notes. This is a very annoying bug. I'm very disappointed by the testing and quality control standards of this app.
The andoird app isnt syncing with the cloud. Brains made on the app are not visible in other devices, and brains made on the desktop can't be opened on the phone. give a fix ASAP.
The app has a good feature set, the note editor could use a little polishing. Before all that however, the frequent crashes need to stop!
Android app was a great companion to TheBrain desktop software... but hasn't worked since update to Android 9. At least the web interface still works on mobile, but it's a poor substitute :/
Sadly useless as it oesn't work on later versions of Android. It crashes when trying to open a brain data set. Hoping for an uodate... the other mobile platform gets more love.
Poor navigation. No apparent ability to retrace steps as with a web page and thebrain full application. And Help throws an error.
Smooth app and improving synchronization, however it's not practical to check all assigned tags to a given thought at a glance. Also, we would love that next versions include the reporting feature.
I essentially bought the licence to use the Brain on my Android 10. Now that I'm finally starting to use it, I find that notes doesn't even open up my keyboard. I'm very dissapointed!
Excellent. I've been using TheBrain for many years on my desktop, and the app since I started using an Android tablet. Wouldn't want to be without it.
Great on Desktops and iOS. And now the Android version works great too. This easiest and the best personal knowledge management program available!
Desktop works great but this crashes when trying to open a brain data set. so basically unusable on Android.
Hate apps that require an account login. Even if I only want to store files locally. Love the desktop version.
No e2e encryption, password only login (,no Linux support for the desktop version, just as remark). Not practical for us in a professional setting.
I have been using this daily since 2010 and have found it invaluable. I used the free version for several years and then subscribed.
The app won't attach photos or files unless taking a picture with the device camera. Pretty much useless.
Phenomenal! One of the most intuitive, helpful and productive apps ever!
This is the best mind mapping tool. Developer should add proper support to web link and images.
Does not work on Android 9. Hasn't for months. Worst experience I've ever had with an app.
I just installed the app and the help page still throws an error message.
Free app that requires a subscription to be useful. Could have been a five star app, but subscription is so expensive as to make it hard to justify. It will cost more over a few years than purchasing a mid priced phone. Ridiculous. Desktop version is even worse, as you are expected to pay for the desktop app AND a subscription to be able to get updates and to sync your data between devices. Four stars off for greedy pricing model.
