Changing the blaring random music does not change my mind. After writing a second review. My last review complaint was not about the content but, the random music that played when app is open has just changed to an even more annoying style of music. I'm wondering if the programmers just think it is funny.

Every time they fix one error, new ones appear. Right now, any gallery with gifs crashes the app after scrolling for a bit. Come on guys, fix it so we can see what new ridiculous error you can come up with!

Great community, wonderful posts, terrible app. Crashes constantly, and random adds that dominate my screen and play loud music!!!! I can't look at the app while I'm in public for fear of super loud random and annoying noises. If i didn't love theCHIVE so much I would have deleted it long ago due to the constant crashing and force closing. But I think these forced loud and annoying adds have made this once fun, and uplifting app simply not practical.

Great content, app leaves a lot to be desired. Constant crashing, and clunky to navigate. Overall I love it, just wish it functioned better.

This app was working beautifully until the most recent update! Now it's freezing again. Scrolls slowly at times, and freezes. My phone gets very hot again. Terrible update!

Chive tv stopped working ??? Uninstalled cause nothing shows. I'll guess it worked for about 3 tries meaning I watched it 3x but then black screen. No message, no reason, just black screen. Seeeeya

So after the standard ad slide, downloading the active slide will actually download the following slide instead, a longstanding bug. Tapping the "captions" link on the bottom for the first few slides does nothing, another longstanding bug. How has this been overlooked/ignored for how successful the company has become?

Probably the best crashing app in the world. 5M downloads. I wonder how many are people uninstalling and redownloading to see if it fixes the constant crashing problem. It's unusable in it's currant form as it crashes within minutes of opening.

Will not load without being in airplane mode first. If not in airplane mode the app crashes before loading the home screen.

Can only see one entry at a time instead of scrolling down like an article. This new setup doesn't work, switching it to the other option created a jumbled mess. If I wanted to see images like that, I'd go to Pinterest.

Crashes constantly and the ads are always so loud its insane. Updated on 4.18.22...the stupid music playing now when I scroll through is a nice touch.

Revised edit. If you want to see the occasional picture between the increasingly intrusive advertising then this app is for you

My last rating was deleted. App is now useless. Pics and captions are random. Damn. Tried again. Still doesnt work. It's really a shame. 2weeks later, still unusable. I click by habit, fading. Any suggestions for alternate? New update is promising. Looks like the major issues are addressed. Thank you for listening. I'll try for few days and address again. Well done team, great recovery.

I used to love the app. Then the ads came in and made it really obtrusive. The content got stale. Then I decided to download it again to see the changes after a few years. Opened one gallery that was pretty much a sponsored ad. Then when I backed out, I had a 5 second ad that still took me to the app store when I pressed x. I get it, make your money. But when the first thing I see when opening the app is an ad then another ad that doesn't work right, you missed the mark somewhere

I paid for the annual subscription, so I wouldn't have any ads, but it's still showing ads as if I didn't pay. I even went into the manage subscriptions area and confirmed the subscription and still nothing. Update..Icanceled my subscription and decided to wait until the issue was resolved through an update, and according to the most recent version, the bug/issue was fixed, so I decided to try again and it's the same issue. Update 2021-12-23: All app issues appear to have been resolved and as a result I've amended this review. Original: No images line up with captions. Refreshing a story (or leaving the app and returning) results in images being completely out of sync, duplicate or simply not loading (especially GIFs). Such a shame, huge fan of the Chive but the app is currently almost unusable for its core purpose.

Used to be great, now it's basically un- useable. Same pics over and over in a gallery, all with different non matching descriptions. Most descriptions are mis matched to the pics. If you scroll down and back up it adds or replaces pics, usually wrong descriptions as well. I'm using a paid version and it's horrible at this point. Sent an email to them and got no response.

Constantly having issues with sections with mixed up photos that do not match the text. Crashes everytime I open it. There are ads every time you open the app or another section in the app. This use to be a great app, before that sought to make larger profits to benefit their lifestyle (drinking and partying with hired models). This is a worthless app.

I used to love this app, but for the past few weeks, it has been extremely buggy and slow to respond or load. The posts also repeat pictures several times when I scroll through it. It would be an post with 50 pictures, but 40 or them are just repeats every so often. So I miss a lot of each post, which is extremely disappointing

Very long time Chiver but really disappointed that this android glitch has not been resolved. The double ups are enormously frustrating. Otherwise thanks for the stellar work UPDATE: I've been patient but I can't put up with the double images and wrong placement anymore, it makes the whole experience horrible. Not aides by the lack of information about a fix or efforts to make one.

HIRE A PROPER IT DEPARTMENT! It's a photo sharing/posting app that doesn't work. How others can get it straight but theChive can't? Same issues as everyone else. Photos are repeating several times and the captions don't match pictures either. Very annoying that it's been going on for many months and there are countless reviews with same issues.

Used to be a great app, now there is semi frequent popup ads that make it not worth using. Update: adds are no longer pop up, just in nearly every other page. When loading pages photos will repeat and misalign with text, make things very confusing. Update(12/23/21) All issues seem to have been fixed, glad to see it has gotten back to being one of the coolest places on the internet

I use to be a big fan of TheChive and would go to it faithfully. I saved many of the pictures and jokes and such, and have been doing this for several years, and enjoy them very much. I have withheld watching them for the last year and a half because of several complicated health issues. I did save them and was just trying to go back and watch them and even the most recent ones are giving me the same problems. When I click on a group of pictures it always brings up your website that shows a list of topics, along with pictures of some of the people that work there, but never goes to the set of pictures. Is there an update that I am missing or any other issue I am missing that I can do to get back to seeing your content? Sorry for using this means for contacting you, but I didn't know any other way. Please help me. Thank you.

App is so glitchy, can not even browse without it crashing. Ads are also extremely annoying because they are loud.

Long time listener first time caller. I've enjoyed the app for years and recently it is wrought with issues. Please bring back the quality most have become accustomed to. I was so frustrated that I deleted the app. I will reinstall hoping for a better experience. Such a fall from grace... disappointing!!

I love the Chive. The content is great. The app is a little frustrating. the ads have become a little more insistent. No longer just appearing on the bottom but sometimes popping up in the middle of everything sometimes with full sound. Not very discreet. Secondly it crashes about once every 10 minutes. I'm not mad. I'm keeping calm and will continue to Chive On. But you guys seem to be big enough you ought to fix your app.
