I absolutely love this game. It has everything you would expect from a city simulator, and more! The 16 bit art style just adds to the charm. Best city simulator on mobile imo. I do have a recent problem tho, two bugs. (1) waste disposal seems to be stuck at 50% no matter what I do (2) after about 10-15 minutes of activity in the game for some reason it starts lagging so much it feels almost unplayable, especially with the ads. Pls fix.

I absolutely love this game! It is the city simulator i have been looking for! My favourite thing about it is that it is pixelated. I love pixelated games! The ONLY thing i would add is the ability for the so called 'real time' time of day setting to include the days to be real time. that would be stellar! Other than that, the game is perfect! I would recommend this game to anyone who finds my description interesting.

I found the game to be worth the time I spent, and more to spend later. The game is straight forward, and unlike other city building games it doesn't have the gimmicks of having to yap icons to collect resources. The music is nice and relaxing, and even the emergency music feels right. It doesn't try to be forceful in trying to spend money for it, optional if you want to. Can't go much further due to count limit, but I recommend the game, better than most on market, relaxing, and friendly.

Quite amazing game. The game is quite similar to most other of the genre, but what it has for a trump card is ads and mod support. Has a lot of mods and more coming. The ads are not so intrusive and quite well thought-out to entice players to use it more for premium currency. Appearing in batches of three that appear every after about 15 mins or so, can be utilized extensively to buy out all the extra features without spending a dime. Just need more in tutorial, doesnt teach much.

I love the pixel art style of the game, makes it really endearing. I enjoy zooming in to watch my inhabitants and cars, but for those tall upgraded buildings i can't see my tiny humans, so i suggest making buildings see through when zoomed in. Following a car is also glitchy but i don't use it so i don't mind. Like many others have said, the lack of tutorial makes it difficult to get the controls, some guessing has to be made for players to really use all features (eg. Transport like train)

4 stars just Bc of the way $ is set up .. I would much rather pay up front and not have to worry. I'm really enjoying everything so far, hope I don't hit a pay wall! Will change to 5 stars if it doesn't affect my long term game Edit. It's been about a month. Gonna keep that 4 stars. Had a lot of fun, for about 3 weeks, and I think I'll download the computer version later. The mobile lost me when I realized I couldn't connect my cities and that the freight trains were ornamental. Worth a try

Knowing that the graphics are hand drawn makes them much nicer. One problem : game should be playable with phone in both landscapes. Not just one. When the phone is plugged in I like to landscape the other way. OLD: Graphics are a little basic & old. It does remind me of SimCity though. Plugins are a nice touch. A question though: Why can't I build wires over some streets? To get from 1 zone to another.

Been playing it now for about 2 days now, and its a pretty awesome game. Building a city from scratch, making people happy.. its fun and challenging.. I will say the one thing you will need to focus on are roads. I've found using a one way in one way out system works best, with where they meet being 2+ lanes to help things. Roads are difficult but other than that its fun!

I can say that i really like the game pretty well. The gameplay is also deference from the other cities building game. When i play it, it's not just building but also how you act when there's a emergency, and natural disasters. There's also a demand list which given to 3 : poor , moderate and rich. Also there's a natural disasters options you can choose from build menu. You should try this game!!!

This is a great game! Unlike most other mobile city managing games, the building times aren't excruciatingly long (and if they are you can watch an ad to boost it instead of paying money). Speaking of that, the micro transactions aren't that bad. The gameplay is smooth, interesting, and is surprisingly challenging for a city builder. It is fairly realistic as well with all of the factors you have to manage. Overall, I rate this 5/5 stars.

I like the game very much. I have been playing for years. This is the most realistic town game i ever seen and i seen a lot of town games that seem realistic from the pic, but is not. One thing is i would like to know how to make my own plugins. I looked online and followed the instructions, but still couldn't do it. I would love to make my own buildings on the game. Any help i would appreciate it. Thanks

Love it! It's just like the old city games like Sim City 2000 etc. Your zones grow depending on conditions, & you don't know what might develope. The menu & tool bars are a bit confusing at first, & the graphics look a little pixy, but you won't notice after awhile. I can't find a way to raise or lower terrain. Can somebody clue me in on that?

Theotown is a great game. The mechanics world great, and I love the relaxing music. It's a little buggy but there not a big bugs. The one thing I wish they can do is trade with other cities. I mean to like industrial resources, and also what I like is new disasters like zombies. Theotown is a great game and I wish that some things can be fixed and added.

This is nice pixel game. You can create cities and experiment in sandbox mode. It was relaxing at first but then it got laggy, so some performance options would be greatly appreciated. Still, it's a great game if you're playing on computer or if you have a better mobile device. Edit: I found out the lag was actually caused by another app, so it's actually not that laggy.

Now THIS is a free to play sandbox game!! I love it!! You don't have to pay real money to fully enjoy it. The purchasable items are only for certain buildings that doesn't significantly impact the outcome of the city. The mechanics might be overwhelming at first, so I recommend playing the tutorial first THEN playing it in sandbox mode to get a better grasp of the game. Great casual game to kill time. The full mod support allows for endless content. What brings it down is going into the game expecting a true city simulator - as the name suggests. But finding crucial services such as education unavailable at the beginning (unless you unlock it with microtransactions) broke the immersion and I quickly found the game boring. It is really good, I recommend to play this game, no p2w, no intrusive ads, and the in-game purchases are not needed unless you want more profit in your city, so all in all is good. Pro tip: when creating a zones I recommend this setup( x by 4 zone where you can have efficient use of space for any services) and when one of the three main services such as police, fire dept., and health, immediately build them so that any problems will be solved.

Personally my go-to city builder for the entire Play Store. Minimal ads, you never see them unless you want to watch one to skip building time or install a plugin, instead of paying with gems. Plugins are crucial for the game, though TheoTown is already awesome without. Unlimited possibilities, you can create custom maps and even regions with many options. Challenge your inner city-planner with easy, normal or hard mode, or mess around with sandbox. Best game of its category, download already!!!

This city building game is so relaxing and satisfying. I also suggest that the streetlights should be removed in Road decorations. Instead, they should be automatically installed right after building roads (any roads) so that it would be convenient and doesn't need to go to road decorations just to put streetlights on roads which is really time consuming.

The gameplay is TIME-KILLING!!!The graphics is very nice and beautiful which makes the game even better,pls. dont change the graphics because it's perfect.But pls. add rotation feature so I can rotate it to the other side to make it more realistic,and pls. automatically when the game crashed or when I'm leaving TheoTown because I was disappointed when it didn't save but overall,its a definite 5-STAR!Good job devs!😊👍Edit:Happy Birthday too!!

The game is amazing and i would absolutely recommend to anyone who likes these types of games. Recently though I've had an issue where the game would either freeze itself or my phone if I spend too much time on the plug-ins market. Idk if this is an optimisation issue but please fix it if you can, I am on android version 7.0

Wonderful game everything in here is near perfect. A suggestion I have would be grade based zones. I imagine you would go [zones > custom buildings > grade 1 industry], then at the top of the options you can choose to have a zone option that can build only grade 1 industry buildings. Same goes for commercial and residential respectively. I absolutely love your game one of the best uve ever played

This game is great but needs many quality of life improvements. the landfill system is horrible, I understand the necessity for some kind of inconvenience to encourage spending so you can make money off of a free game, but 30 seconds swiping a bar is genuinely infuriating. Aside from that I cannot see how the fire departments being so inept serves any purpose, you have to manually order them and if you aren't careful they stop prematurely and let fires continue to spread, not fun.

This app had a really good general idea that I think I could've liked playing. However there are not near enough details in the instructions. They tell you enough to get you started out after that you have to figure out what to do with very vague instructions. I mean I had no problem figuring it out but it did require some thought & just trying some different things. I gotvery frustrate when my city burned 3x & I couldn't figure out how to clean up the last little bit of pollution I had left

I've been ignoring this for a while but I'm really happy I took a chance on it. Unlike other city building games, it actually challenges you. You have to make citizens happy by providing power water making sure there's not too much traffic and much more you have to watch. I absolutely love the graphics too. Perfect for anyone looking for a city building game! It's one of my favorite games I've installed. I could write about it all day but the play store doesn't give enough room. Good job devs!

I left a different review here a while back and it was something dumb so forget it. Amazing game, but I wish you could put in state highways and state roads on new regions you create, or just have an AI do it. UPDATE: So I found a bug, when I open the build menu, all of the icons vanished and I couldn't do anything. Restarted the game and it's back to normal.

This review window popped up randomly. Not a fan of the half chunky art, since it never looks like a city, which is where I usually get a lot of satisfaction from. The traffic is sort of messed up. In other city builders I would have high speed, high capacity roads outside a neighborhood block and small roads with lower speeds inside. I feel more restricted in traffic design here and all I can do is delete houses to reduce the unrealistic constant complaints of busy roads.

Very fun game that's deep and complex. It's very satisfying to make and create and watch your city grow from rock bottom to a booming metropolis. You also get a MASSIVE amount of content for completely free and most things you can get through ads or a small payment. This game is definitely a must if your looking for a fun new game.
