My favorite part about this app's widget was the scoreboard design... being able to see multiple scores for a league on one screen. With the latest update, it appears they've gone to a scrolling list of scores, one game at a time. I can't find any setting to choose widget layout. It's frustrating not being able to take a quick glance and see what the hockey scores and/or schedule is and instead needing to open the full app or click through the scroll.
App is OK overall and I'd like to continue using it but in playoff final scores they don't update the series W-L in a timely fashion. So, for instance, it correctly indicates that Dallas beat Phoenix earlier today but it still says Phoenix is up 2 games to 1 when it should indicate the series is now tied at 2 each. That is totally unacceptable and must be fixed.
Stop adding leagues that I don't add. To start, this is the best sports app around. What I don't understand is when I customize my league list, the first thing I have to do when opening the app is remove extra garbage that I did not add. That is an inconvenience and it's very unnecessary.
Love this app, and the articles on it are fantastic, but right now I am still having issues seeing "Scores" and "News". Only giving 1 star so they can see they still need to update it for some people still having issues (Tried sending a report but the app wouldn't let me Unfortunately). Otherwise I would give 6 Stars great job guys.
It's a good app, I like scrolling through the news and being able to watch clips of some pretty entertaining stuff. It's a little laggy and hard to move through. Only reason it's 4 stars
Notifications for a news story opens up the app, without going to the actual story. It opens to her last page you had open. It's kinda retarded. Uninstalled. I don't like notifications and if notifications don't do what they're supposed to, I don't need your app.
Very good content and notifications, but app scrolling is not smooth... Kinda ruins the great layout and experience with such lag. Seems like it drops to 60 fps, just not smooth.
I'd normally give this app a 5 star, but lately it's just gone downhill. For some reason, there's a terrible lag when clicking on different scores. I continuously have to close the app and reopen it. Looking for a new sports app as we speak.
Having issues upon opening the app. Takes very long (30+ seconds) for the app to load. Edit: opening issues fixed but now there isn't any NCAA baseball? I can see news updates for my team but not any scores.
Spammers have been ruining this app for months. Need to do something about people spamming the chat. Ad placement is obnoxious. App sometimes freezes or fails to load. Moving on. Had app for 10+ years and am deleting it. Used to be much better overall. Sports Alerts is a no frills app that loads much faster without the ads.
The tab for favorites is what makes this app better than the others I've used. Having only MLB and Premier League news and for the teams I follow is better than scanning through the dozens of stories on ESPN about NFL, NBA, College Basketball and everything else I don't care about, so I can find the things I do want to read.
Good app for sure. I'd give a 5 star if you guys can update NHL standings via which teams have been mathematically eliminated; like you do with NBA currently. Aside that, the app works very well and covers nearly everything.
Truly annoying and disappointing experience. I've been following theScore for quite a few years, because their content is always pretty good and engaging. That being said, the app is just trash. Even tiny clips — of less than 30 seconds — and highlights, you can neither watch them on full-screen, nor zoom into them or anything. Even on full-screen and landscape you need to look at this tiny little video of your favourite player dunking the ball. Solve the UI/UX issues and you're good to go.
Been using this app since like 2013 or 2014. The absolute best part is the lack of clutter. You open the app and the scores are right there immediately. It's very easy to quickly switch sports/leagues and the news has its own tab. Standings/Rankings is very easy to find and navigate. Stats are very detailed and organized. Other apps like ESPN seem to prioritize news and opinion pieces over just showing me the scores! Not this one! Highly recommend!
Usually a fantastic app but over the past several months I've had quite a few instances where scores simply will not update. For example, the Colorado - Detroit game tonight still says the score is 4-2 with 15:41 left in the second period, yet the game itself is actually 6-3 and the second period is over. Even after closing the app multiple times and trying to refresh the score, it refuses to update. This seems to be happening more and more frequently, and is getting a little frustrating :(
Back at it again with the drop-down ads above the toolbar menu. Ad drops down exactly where you want to click when opening a game. Most annoying ad delivery I experience through any app. They seem to stop doing it for a while, then bring them back. Absolute 5 star app without the drop-down ads. Been using this app for 10 years. Very frustrating.
Used to love using this app as my go to for quick stats as well as deeper dives into season numbers between players. Since the December update, the app has consistently failed to load simple pages with nothing more than a few lines of text. After failing to do so for at least a minute, it's only solution is to toggle a pointless switch and keep trying to refresh the page which shockingly rarely works. I will be looking for a new app at this point, I might as well use the ESPN app instead.
I used to use the ESPN app and boy was I naive. TheScore app is amazing and allows so much more personal preference. It also doesn't freeze every 5 minutes.
Works great for checking scores but everytime i open the app there is some new featured sport in the league tab. Also new sports added. I have selected the sports i care about and am annoyed that this app keeps trying to push other sports
Hi. I just installed your app. It's pretty good so far. Am a little disappointed that I'm not able to see any highlights on the day of the game of "My Favorite" Teams. So if possible, you might think about adding that as an added plus to your app. Thank you
Absolutely hate the new update to the multi-sport widget. Instead of being able to see all the scores from a league, now I have to individually scroll through each game? Why would you change the way it was before? It's horrible now and I probably won't use this app anymore
Latest version stopped updating the widget correctly. I now have to refresh the scores every time. The update are so far behind NBA games that have ended show first quarter scores.
I've been using this app for years. Best score widget around. However, I recently bought a pixel 6 and now no matter what I do the widget stops updating on its own until I reboot the phone. I would happily trade a little battery life to keep widget updated. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of the app. Edit rating to 5 star. My home launcher was causing the problem. Developer was responsive.
This app keeps getting less intuitive. Used to be a wonderful sports app that gets you info fast. Today, when I clicked on "Scores", I had to scroll past NCAA basketball, NBA basketball and NHL hockey scores to get to the College football championship game score. In the old days that would have been the first thing which came up. Software developers should be sent packing after an app reaches 4.5 stars because continued updates over time never cease to take a good app downhill.
This app has SO MUCH potential but it's endless glitches and screw ups. Example. Almost any game I seem to try and follow, be it nhl, nba, nfl.. games are often minutes even quarters ahead of where this app says it is. Trying to make a comments under a chat or article, it'll delete my text before it's posted. The guys in it answer right away and are great but we want a sports app that's accurate and to the minute consistently. I'll come back in time and hopefully this is resolved. Do better guys
The App is good but one issue. Why are the notifications silent? I have the sound enabled but yet they are silent. Updated: it is fine now thanks!
Great app, especially the multi-sport widget. The only scoreboard app I have. A few things for improvement though: please add women sports like National Women's Soccer League, UEFA Women, Softball, etc. Also please add other leagues like Scottish Premiership or Nippon Professional Baseball. For the user interface, can provide the option to keep the bottom menu bar (news, scores, favs, etc.) locked so you can navigate pages easier. The back arrow on the upper left of the screen doesn't usually take me to the page I want right away. Thanks!
