Disappointed, the apps required login process is broken and won't read any account information. I'll receive a message to reset the password, but the link does not take me to a page to actually reset the password. Even with a fresh account, the app doesn't work. If I could see more of the application without this barrier, maybe I would give it a better rating. At the moment, its a 1 star.

Missing some basic functionality, chiefly, the ability to browse by category and sub category. Also missing ability to sort search results; they just load in whatever order and you are left to scroll and scroll and scroll. The app doesn't load correctly, with a red error message at the top ('length=22; index=24') but otherwise the interface doesn't seem affected. Once the category and sort features are addressed, this app will be appealing. Meantime, it's back to the website, despite it being clunky on a phone.

It doesn't matter what I type in the search box the result is zero! Is there a bug or am I doing something wrong?? This is very frustrating. I use Thingiverse regularly on my laptop and desktop pc without any issue. The app is actually a waste of time and just occupies phone memory. The app as of today 3 July 2020 now no longer works. It comes up with a java.lang.illegalStateException message. The developers are obviously not putting enough effort into this app or having simply abandoned it.

There is the occasional load error, but for the most part the app works. Slowly. Almost agonizingly slow, but it works. If a mobile version of the site would load on my phone, instead of a desktop version, I'd ditch this app because of the levels of annoyance that are reachable while waiting for the next cluster of search results to load, or waiting for a page to load. The devs very much need to work on this.

Horrible app. Crazy slow and sometimes doesnt load at all. Doesnt contain simple features like deleting collections or multiple selection. The most useful pages are deep in the menus and the home page is boring and unhelpful. Featured items aren't updated fast enough for me to care about the featured section. The only thing i like about this app is that it keeps me logged in, which is more than i can say for the thingiverse website.

I've tried this app 2-3 times now thinking it would be fixed. Still basically useless. You can't search for anything, it all comes back with 0 results. If you do open a 'thing' the comments can't be viewed and the makes section won't display thumbnails. It's unfortunate because this is my go-to site, but the worst app. Do yourself a favor and just put a shortcut to the website on your home screen. A year later and now you can't even log in on the app. Wow.

This app is barely usable. The only feature I really use is sharing links thru text messages. I will use the search function when I'm away from my computer, but with no way to add to a collection i have to text myself the link to open later. The view more also tends to scroll the page up by about 1/3 of the way. The comments tend to be to much pain to read thru with no screen rotation or zoom. I havent tried to upload or download anything from the app. So no comments on that aspect.

I only use thingiverse because it is most common for 3d printing files and you can find most designs here. Otherwise, it is incredibly bad. The performance is worse than of my 10 year old cheap tablet, you need a lot of time until even the start page loads, additionally, you often have to deal with bugs. For example on the web page, I get always logged out, since the design change, you don't see anything new on your dashboard (the "number" is missing), 3d previews don't work or a lot esle. Very sad.

Worked fine for a while, stopped using the app for about half a year. Went back to it, it had a red bar at the top with a message saying something along the lines of "Java.langIllegalStateException". I reset my password and its still saying the same thing and won't let me log in at all. I can log in thru my email though. Just disappointing I can't use the app *UPDATE* still cannot log in 9 months later, even with a new email. The app is literally broken.

The app and the site has degraded to the point it is now unusable. It's a shame because it was by far the best 3D resource available, but it seems that Makerbot, who own the site, have pulled the rug out from under the staff who run it and are now swamped with support issues going back around a year. Despite a new facelift, It is painfully slow, inconsistent, with many broken links.

It used to work well enough (except that it would go back to the top of the search results after clicking on something and navigating back), but now the search returns 0 results for all search terms, even one that's highlighted on the main page. I used to be able to search on my phone and email myself the files I wanted to print. :-(

There's no way to download the files to your phone, oddly though the website (Android Google Chrome) way of viewing the site doesn't show everything that this app does. On the other hand, PC browser works for everything. I seriously don't understand why there isn't a way to download the files using this app, it would save me from having to use a different browser just to do that.

App needs some serious improvment. It's clunky, slow and lacking in features. Downloading files doesn't seem to work, the screen doesn't resize itself when app pop ups appear. The web site is great, thingiverse is great. The platform is hugely educational and beneficial to all interested in 3d printing but the app needs a lot more work.

Not loading previews of makes anymore. If you click on a "thing" you can see the photos, but on desktop it has trouble loading previews of both stl files and images. On mobile app the previews load fine but if you try and scroll through the makes it doesn't load any of the previews, you have to click on each make individually to view the picture. Wouldn't be a huge issue but I want to see what color configurations a certain thing was printed in and I've had to view at least 100 individual makes rather than taking 10 seconds to scroll through.

Ironically, an app that's used to help people with frontier technology can't get last gen technology right. This app is terrible in every way. You have to be logged into your account to look at 3D prints, but it constantly logs you off, and it breaks when you try to log in. The search function is terrible. It rarely brings back anything even when you know there are files that match your search. I've actually had more success using Google to search for print files on thingiverse.

Update: can't even login anymore, I'm guessing they have completely dropped support of this app. Sad... Search is completely broken and half the time it will say I have no collections created so I can't even add something while exploring. I just installed in the past month and it's been this way the whole time. Apparently it was better before, maybe they will fix it.

Dont waste your time with this. It worked intermittently a few months back, something changed (affected website also) and now it finds a few to zero models in search. Its probably some minor stuff to make it work correctly, but thingiverse and its parent company seems to have abandoned both its software and hardware. I'm not being harsh, both the app and website have major coding issues.

Sadly the app suffers the same problems as the website does. Slow to no loading, random errors. Otherwise the idea and design is good to scroll through things and gather ideas. It would be a good alternative as the website is not made responsive and requires a lot of scrolling and panning on the phone.

Searching for a "thing" now returns zero results and has for a while. Just tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling to see if the problems on my side and now I can't log in at all. Various java errors returned when trying to log in and connection failed messages. Looks like the app has been abandoned unfortunately. The last what's new update was in May 2019.

I've never been able to get logged in to the app. It always throws some java error. Even the desktop website seems to have issues. It took a multiple attempts with a month gap in between to send me the verification email to even create the account. I just want to upload a design remix to help people that might have had the same issue as me.

Utterly useless since the latest update to the website (equally useless). Only function that seems to work is the ability to aceas what you've previosly Liked, Collected or Made. Once upon a time it was actually (mostly) functional. Update: had deleted the app almost 2 years ago, decides to give it a try again. Can't even log in.

This app is now officially useless. Like many other users, I couldn't search for anything. It always returns no result. Now I can't log in anymore. I just get some error that pops up at the top of the app. I've tried clearing all app data, uninstalling, reinstalling, nothing works. I get the error message even before trying to log in. It's unreal how such a popular service can have such a poor app.

This app used to be great then something happened a few months ago and thingiverse seemed to be down for a week or so, when everything was working again the app just quit working, returns zero results for things I've searched many times and even their website changed completely with fewer result returns when searching. I dont know what happened but it worked just fine before

Like others here, my app is broken and won't let me log in (java error). I thought it was just me but apparently this is an issue across the board. This error has been an issue for me for a LONG time (months and months, at the least). This a hugely embarrassing amount of time to let your app be completely broken yet downloadable. I'm going to delete it now and use PrusaPrinters etc instead.

Since the new web UI was rolled out, this app has deteriorated. Search doesn't work right, can't really collect anything because the list of my collections is truncated (same problem in browser), and when scrolling through the newest things, eventually it starts timing out and crashing. Really in sad need of an update.

Used to be a great app to explore 3D printables on the go and save into collections for later. But I can no longer log into the app. On browser its fine its just the app is broken within its coding. Makes the app completely unusable. Wouldn't recommend unless they fix this. However I don't see this happening any time soon since this has been an issue for many weeks

The app is slow, bulky, and doesn't allow for filtering results. Sharing the link to results is tedious, and it just feels like an afterthought from a community that prides itself on creativity and DIY. Pretty disappointing app, all in all. Love the site, app needs a lot of UX work...

I think it's time call it on this app. I can't login anymore. The metrics I used to be able to see (when I could login) are gone; which I enjoyed very much. Not sure why those were removed. I see constant code error warnings at the top which seems like it should have been resolved a long time ago. This was pretty great back in the day. But, it seems like your API keeps becoming more and more degraded as time goes on. I wish you'd do an overhaul and get things back to optimal again.
