It would be nice if you could see the whole video when making video calls. As of now, the video is cropped to fit full screen both in portrait and landscape orientation, so you only get to see the center part of video feed.
The chat features are clunky; I have to click three dots to delete a message. The dislike features do not appear to be beneficial. I despise it when my phone vibrates excessively only to respond to a message. Quote appears to be nothing more than a respond button. Please remove the options from the 3 dots that users use the most and replace them with buttons in the 3 dots that are not often used.
I recently purchased Threema app and tried setting a new account. Inadvertently, I uninstalled the app and tried setting up the account multiple times and now I'm not allowed to set up an account. I see the message TA001: VP003: Too many IDs created for this purchase. Please help me in setting up the account.
Threema is a must have for anyone who cares about privacy and security. I use it as my main medium of communication w/ my family and some friends. I'm working hard/educating the rest of my family and friends to use threema. I kindly ask the developers to add the option to change the bg-color of received messages. The white text on light-gray-bg has proven difficult to read for some of the older members of my family. Also, please consider adding a time-base disappearing messages.
A fantastic privacy focused messaging app. The developer has improved the app with each update, although some messages can be delayed when sending via mobile data, though this isn't a huge issue for me.
Complete amenity and disassociation to email or phone number seems to be an overreach, because the application is automatically associating itself to the primary email address you are logged on to when you purchase through the Google Store. Not sure what weakness this will lead to yet... More to follow.
(Updated April. 8) All work out fine except you cannot retract anything like BBM does. I understood what Threema explain about retractable msgs isn't safe. How about Disappear msg in certain time elapsed? Such as Signal did? I'd give it 5 stars if Threema msgs can be time-up disappear.
Waste of money. I bought this app and when I started setting it up it says purchase could not be verified. I tried it many times but it looks like this app is a scam.
Every time I install Threema I loose photos from my gallery. I begun taking five to six photos each time and if I am lucky I have one of these. The moment I uninstall Threema that problem is gone.
Excellent app! I've used many private messenger apps over the years and this one is best; well worth the cost. The only features that are missing: 1) last online date/status for existing contacts; 2) A "Notes" section for each contact so users can store personal info related to that contact such as birthday, anniversary, job info, how they met, etc.; and 3) the ability to override a contact's default profile pic on the user's device so that a contact's default pic is only used if not overridden.
Great app! The only messenger that works without using the phone number. The phone functionality good work better though, sometimes the connection is difficult or breaks
There is this problem that sending images or videos takes a very long time. Please fix it, it is very annoying. Also the maximum size of files is way too low. Please make sending videos without compression (as toggled in the settings) possible again, aswell as sending large files.
Fails to fulfill it's only purpose : "RELIABLY deliver messages and notify me about new messages" Every now and then no notifications occur. Or it doesn't update between Desktop and mobile. I don't care about fancy features, all I want is a fast and reliable messenger (with a transparent business model and privacy policy (otherwise I'd just use Whatsapp)) .
I'm a little confused. So do my contacts have to have threema too or the qr code? I won't be able to just set it as my default messanger and receive all messages through here? I tried to text someone and it required threema id.
Works great, it's affordable, and no phone number or email is required. Only drawback is not many of my friends use it yet.
Great app, I was in the process of implementing this across my company but we found a few issues that are show stoppers for now. Messages that are to self delete need the option of deleting in say an hour, 2 hours, sensitive communications needs not be lingering around on someone's phone for excessive amounts of time. Also. When a conversation is deleted. It must delete on all devices that are privy to that conversation. Threema does solve a lot of communication issues. I can't wait for these fu
It's secure apps for chats and call. There should be some modifications, chat notification didn't get instantly, usually takes 1 to 2mins. Delete for everyone options should be added for more security and peaceful experience. Hope you will look into it.
European servers, European app. Very secure for messaging without having to sacrifice convenience. Supports a dark theme.
Very nice app, clean video calls and a lot of customization, but unluckily lacks self destructive message.
HAS: Anonymity & privacy: email address/mobile number are not needed for registration & there's no online status: outranks Signal, Telegram & WhatsApp! LACKS: Screenshot & data forward control to prevent recipients from taking screenshots, copying, downloading/forwarding chats (some other apps provide either or all); Features to immediately delete erroneously sent messages and change Threema ID while retaining previous messages/media. Schedule Send messages feature will be the icing on the cake.
Hi Threema, I really like your app and find it appropriate for a secure conversation. However, are there any chances to implement a audio/video group call in the app, insted of being limited just to 1 to 1 calls? Thanks!
I really enjoy the privacy and security Threema offers. It has a lot of great features and is easy to use.
It is a very secure messaging app. If you want to be sure nobody ever gets access to your data, Threema is an excellent choice. The push notifications didn't work on my Galaxy A8 at first, but there's a troubleshooting page that explained how to fix it and they work now. Using multiple devices with one account is very difficult with Threema. That's probably the biggest drawback for me.
Its a very good app especially if you take privacy seriously, the company is completely user funded so they dont sell your data. Notifications are pushed so you dont need to check regularly. You can make phone calls.. I like that there's no ads or any annoying features. A small feature that I like is that you can change the wallpaper for conversations with specific people.
Consistently exceeds expectations! I have used Threema for years and, if they had stayed with the earliest versions of the app, I'd still purchase it! In addition to the encryption and security, they have continually added features that aren't seen elsewhere with the encryption and security Threema provides. If someone with whom I regularly communicate does not already have it, I purchase it for them. For everything Threema provides, especially at the price, it's ludicrous to not have it!
If you like having private conversations, this is the communication app you've been looking for. I spent months researching different solutions before choosing Threema, given most apps in this space have been proven insecure. Threema was the only app in the category that actually provided a viable solution and maintained a quality user experience. Since moving to it, the people I talk to regularly have had no issues learning the platform.
